“My dog, Freddie, stayed with Joe for an afternoon while we were out in Beaufort. Joe has a great location, super convenient to downtown and a great backyard for the pups to play in. Joe made things super easy and his dog, Watson, kept Freddie busy and entertained for the afternoon. Would highly recommend Joe and Watson and hope to have Freddie stay again in the future!”

About: I had a dog named Buddy that I loved deeply for 16 years. Buddy passed away two years ago and it has been difficult moving on without him.I am looking for opportunities to dogsit for companionship and an excuse to be more active. I have dogsat for family many times and have experience caring for a range of ages and breeds. I am most familiar with caring for senior dogs. I work fully remote and will be able to be with your baby throughout the day. Please consider me you new sitter! Pet care fits into my daily routine, since I work from home, I’m able to take care of the dog during the day and night. I typically wake up pretty early and keep a regimented schedule throughout the day. I make sure the dog is walked. I make sure that I spend a little time playing with them if they’re older dogs and I spend a little time rubbing them or petting them. Some dogs don’t like all of that so you really have to pay attention to what type of dog you’re getting. Luckily I love all dogs so it’s all fun for me.
“Shelby was awesome! I had a last minute emergency, and she accommodated me and was very kind and flexible about it. Meech enjoyed his stay with her, I will definitely be taking him back there!”

About: I’m a huge dog lover and would love to take care of your baby! I grew up with/around dogs and have been pet sitting my friends’ dogs for years. My dog, Junie, is an easygoing girl who loves long walks and playtime just as much as she loves cuddling on the couch! We’d love to have your dog join us for fun and relaxation! My dog takes some medicine so I’m comfortable providing all sorts of medicines to your dog and accommodating for any special needs they may have. I always send lots of updates and photos cuz I know how important to me when I’m away from my pup! I work from home full time so your dog won’t be alone all day. I usually take my dog Junie out at least once during the work day but we can adjust based on your pup’s needs! I want your pet to feel at home! He/she will be allowed on the furniture as long as you allow that at home (don’t want to build any bad habits 😊). Junie and I love long walks before and after work and we’d be happy to have your dog join us. There is a dog park about a 10 min walk away that we got to pretty frequently as well. If your baby is more of a couch potato, we can make that work too! My dog, Junie, is very go with the flow and will be happy to do whatever your dog wants to do!

About: Hi! I’m a lifelong dog lover and a mom to a sweet, energetic toddler who absolutely lights up around dogs. While our family is not ready for the full-time responsibility of having a dog of our own, we would love to welcome friendly dogs into our home and give them plenty of attention, affection, and companionship while their families are away. Your dog will be treated like part of our family during their stay. I understand that leaving your pet with someone new can feel stressful, so I will follow your instructions carefully, communicate regularly, and provide updates and photos so you can feel confident that your dog is safe, comfortable, and well cared for. Because I have a young child, I am currently accepting only dogs with a demonstrated history of being calm, gentle, and comfortable around toddlers or young children. All interactions between my toddler and your dog will be closely supervised, and your dog will always have space to rest or take a break. My son is also learning how to interact respectfully with animals, including using gentle hands and giving dogs space while they are eating, sleeping, or playing with a favorite toy. For everyone’s safety, I am not able to accept dogs with a history of aggression, biting, resource guarding, significant reactivity toward children, or frequent jumping and mouthing. A meet-and-greet is important so we can make sure your dog feels comfortable with our family and that our home is the right environment for them. I especially enjoy caring for affectionate, easygoing dogs who appreciate companionship, playtime, walks, cuddles, and being included in everyday family life. Please share as much as possible about your dog’s personality, routines, feeding schedule, medications, triggers, fears, favorite activities, and experience with young children. Caring for your dog gives our family the joy of having a furry companion without taking on a permanent pet before we are ready. The income I earn through Rover is also being set aside to support my son’s future, education, and extracurricular activities, which makes each booking especially meaningful to our family. I look forward to meeting you and learning more about your dog! I work from home, so my schedule is flexible and I am available throughout the day to provide bathroom breaks, walks, meals, playtime, companionship, and attention. My husband also works from home, so pets are rarely left alone for long periods. Our toddler attends daycare part time, which allows me to provide pets with quiet, focused care during the day. When he is home, any interaction with pets is closely supervised. Pet care fits naturally into our family’s routine, and I am happy to follow your pet’s usual schedule as closely as possible. Our home has a fully fenced yard where dogs can enjoy supervised bathroom breaks and outdoor play. We also have a garden, a covered porch, and comfortable spaces where pets can relax indoors. We live in a dog-friendly neighborhood with several places to walk and are also close to dog parks, although I will only take your dog to a dog park with your permission. Safety is especially important in our home because we have a toddler. I only accept pets that have a demonstrated history of being calm, gentle, and comfortable around young children. All interactions between my son and a pet are supervised, and pets will have their own space to eat, sleep, and take a break without being disturbed. I follow each pet owner’s instructions carefully and will maintain your pet’s feeding, walking, medication, and sleeping routines. I also provide regular updates and photos so you can feel confident that your pet is safe and comfortable.
“Bruno stayed with Melanie for doggy daycare and she was so nice and professional! She took very good care of my pup! I was impressed with her natural ability to handle and care for dogs as if they were her own. He came home tired and very happy. I will definitely bring Bruno for doggy day care!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Anacostia
Imogen was fantastic with Rosie! She was proactive, detail-oriented, and communicative, sending regular updates and photos that gave us complete peace of mind. Rosie got long walks and trips to the dog park, and she came home very happy! The care and attention Imogen gave her was evident throughout. Highly recommend Imogen to anyone looking for a trustworthy, attentive dog sitter!

I cannot recommend Melissa enough! From the very first booking, she has been reliable, communicative, and incredibly attentive to my dog’s needs. The updates, photos, and videos she sends always give me peace of mind and make it clear that my puppy is not just being watched, he is genuinely being cared for and loved. Archie absolutely adores her and gets excited every time he sees her. She creates a safe, fun, and engaging environment, and it’s obvious that she treats every dog in her care like family. Melissa goes above and beyond to make sure they are happy, comfortable, and well cared for. What truly sets her apart is the extra effort and thoughtfulness she puts into caring for the dogs. For Archie’s first birthday, she hosted a birthday celebration with the other dogs in her care. Seeing him celebrated with treats, friends, and adorable photos was such a great feeling and meant so much to our family. It was one of those moments that reminded me how fortunate we are to have found someone who genuinely loves what she does. If you’re looking for someone who is dependable, trustworthy, responsive, and will care for your dog as if they were her own, look no further. We are so grateful to have found her, and Archie is always excited for his next visit.

Literally the best dog sitter ever!!! Dexter came home tired, and a tired dog is a good dog! This was my first time using a Rover sitter and I had such a great experience. Lots of pics and updates ◡̈ I honestly don’t even want to ever go with anyone other than Kaylee!

It feels so rare to find someone on this app that genuinely has the animals wellness and comfort as their top priority. After so many bad experiences it was a relief to know my dog was in good hands while I was away. I had to find a sitter last minute for work and Rosina was extremely flexible and communicative. If I could do a rating worth more than 5 stars I would. Even if you do not live in DC I highly recommend going the distance to ensure your furry friend is in a beautiful loving home. Will 100% be rebooking whenever I'm in the area. <3

Ali watched my dogs for a weekend while I was out of town and did a tremendous job. I felt at ease knowing they were loved and cared for. One of my dogs had some separation anxiety and she made sure to comfort him while in distress. She also provided me with photos and updates while I was away missing them. Highly recommend Ali if you need a sitter that’s reliable, caring, patient, and trustworthy.
