About: I've been a dog person my whole life. Our family has shared our home with everything from standard poodles to an American Eskimo, so I've handled big personalities, high-maintenance coats, smart dogs who need a job, and gentle seniors who need patience and a soft place to land. We recently lost our beloved standard poodle, and while we're not ready for another dog of our own yet, we have a lot of love with nowhere to go. We'd be thrilled to pour it into yours. Your dog will be our only pet, which means undivided attention: no competing for the couch, the yard, or the treats. Speaking of the yard, it's fully enclosed, so there's plenty of room to sniff, play, and stretch out safely, and we're an easy walk from a nearby park for longer outings. Our home also includes a dog-adoring 7-year-old who has grown up around dogs and knows how to be calm and respectful with them, and all interactions are supervised. By day I run a national nonprofit (from our home), so I'm organized, responsive, and used to being trusted with things that matter to other people. You'll get prompt replies, photo updates, and a sitter who actually follows your instructions, whether that's a medication schedule, a specific feeding routine, or a nightly belly rub quota. I work from home, so your dog won't be left alone for long stretches. My day has a natural rhythm that suits most dogs: a morning walk or yard time before I start work, a midday break for a potty trip and some play, and a longer walk to the park in the late afternoon once the workday winds down. In between, your dog is welcome to nap at my feet, keep an eye on the squirrels from the window, or supervise my Zoom calls. Evenings and weekends are family time, which means more play, more attention, and more couch cuddles. I'm happy to follow your dog's existing schedule for meals, medications, and bedtime, since I know routine is what helps most dogs settle into a new place quickly. Your dog's safety and comfort come first in our home. We have a fully enclosed yard for supervised play and potty breaks, and we're a short walk from several parks for longer outings, always on leash unless you've told me otherwise. I do a quick check of gates and latches before every outing, and dogs are never left unattended outside. Inside, your dog has the run of our home and is welcome on the furniture unless you'd prefer they stay off. We've never crated our own dogs, but if a crate is what makes your pup feel safe and settled, I'm happy to use one. Just bring it along with their bed, food, and anything else that smells like home.

About: I’m a huge dog lover and would love to take care of your baby! I grew up with/around dogs and have been pet sitting my friends’ dogs for years. My dog, Junie, is an easygoing girl who loves long walks and playtime just as much as she loves cuddling on the couch! We’d love to have your dog join us for fun and relaxation! My dog takes some medicine so I’m comfortable providing all sorts of medicines to your dog and accommodating for any special needs they may have. I always send lots of updates and photos cuz I know how important to me when I’m away from my pup! I work from home full time so your dog won’t be alone all day. I usually take my dog Junie out at least once during the work day but we can adjust based on your pup’s needs! I want your pet to feel at home! He/she will be allowed on the furniture as long as you allow that at home (don’t want to build any bad habits 😊). Junie and I love long walks before and after work and we’d be happy to have your dog join us. There is a dog park about a 10 min walk away that we got to pretty frequently as well. If your baby is more of a couch potato, we can make that work too! My dog, Junie, is very go with the flow and will be happy to do whatever your dog wants to do!

About: I’ve always had pets and a garden at home: dogs, cats, birds, you name it. Even lately, while living in a city apartment, I’ve had a female Shepherd, and I’ve also looked after dogs for friends and others who entrusted them to my care. I have plenty of availability to look after your pet right now; just let me know in advance so I can make arrangements, and share the details so I can provide the best possible care for your pet. I live in an apartment with no other pets at the moment, so everything is clean and safe for them. Plus, the surrounding areas are perfect for walking—there’s the Mall and The Wharf—places where they can walk and socialize with other pets.

About: My parents owned a doggy daycare and boarding place for dogs - I would watch over 40 dogs and ensure dogs never got into fights. I also have pet sat my neighbor’s dogs and cats and did drop in visits. And back in NJ, I always visit and look after my parent’s dog Bailey who is a yellow lab! I have a part time job, but I am available to do boarding, house sitting, and daycare from Friday to Monday! Dog walking and drop-in visits are anytime except 10 AM to 2 PM during weekdays. Side note: I live with a female roommate and my boyfriend likes to sleep over on weekends. Both of them are comfortable around dogs and cats. I would love to meet you and your pet beforehand to get to know you both and learn what needs to be done! In general, for client visits, I will always check in with your pet by giving them pets and/or scratches if they prefer. I’ll check to make sure they have enough food and water or feed your pet right away. After, I’ll go on a short or long walk for dogs. And of course, extra pets/scratches once your pet returns phone and double checking that the door/house is locked.

About: I’ve been around pets pretty much my whole life. I grew up with animals and had my own dog (Lucky) until he passed away from old age, so I know how much a dog really becomes part of the family. Since I was a teenager I’ve also pet sat for family and friends, so I’ve had plenty of practice with all kinds of personalities and energy levels. I currently work from home, so I’m around throughout the day to give your dog plenty of attention, playtime, and regular walks, not just quick check ins here and there. I’m flexible with boarding and house sitting and can build a routine around what your dog is used to. I live in an apartment in Navy Yard, just walking distance from a dog park, so there’s always a good spot nearby for exercise and playtime. I don’t have any pets of my own right now, which means your dog gets my full attention with no other animals to compete with.
