1. Amanda C.

“I’ve had great experiences with Amanda. She has watched my pup on two occasions and both times was fantastic. The second time, she agreed to watch my pup on super short notice when I had an emergency. She responded very quickly to my last minute request and really saved me. Both times my pup seemed to enjoy her time there, and I appreciate how Amanda always sends cute update photos. Amanda is a true dog person through and through, and I cannot recommend her enough!”

2. Camilla B.

“Camilla was lovely with my little girl! She was very responsive and friendly, and Honey seemed to have a great time. She also sent very cute pictures of Honey and kept me up to date with her during her stay. Would definitely ask her to babysit for us again!”

3. Sarah R.
About: Dog mom to a 14yo male poodle and also an active volunteer/short term foster for rescue pups. I bring lots of experience and love. I also work from home so your fur baby will receive loads of attention. I work from home and can provide 3+ walks and lots of playtime daily. I have an older dog in the home who enjoys going out regularly or playtime in the fenced in doggy playground at my building. I have access to a fenced in playground on the property. For crate trained dogs, please provide the crate. Also happy to work on any training as needed.

4. Sabrina C.

“Sabrina was so great with my new rescue! She was super understanding when Lottie had an accident and sent so many wonderful updates, and I could tell that my pup really loved spending time with Sabrina and her boyfriend—Lottie is a little shy but basically immediately warmed up to them both. I would absolutely recommend her (and I am 100% sure Lottie would too).”

5. Sam A.
“Sam has watched our standard Aussie on many occasions and has always done an amazing job! On one occasion when Huckleberry wasn't feeling well, Sam did a great job administrating meds and took care of him with lots of love. Sam does such a great job of taking care of our pup that when we run into him around town, Hucky is more excited to see Sam than he is when we come home!!”

6. Gil H.
About: I grew up raising large dogs (German Shepherd, Malamute, Labs) so I am accustomed to playing tug-of-war or going on light jogs. Mainly, I understand that dogs require a lot of stimulation and attention so they don't get bored or destructive. While not currently a pet owner, I have been dogsitting for university faculty for the past 8 years in DC, while they are on long-term scholarly travel (e.g. 2-4 weeks). I am looking to also introduce my boyfriend to dog care, as we are considering adopting in the next 6 months. He's a conservationist who loves animals, but grew up in NYC where having a dog wasn't tenable. I am from the midwest where having dogs was a requirement. I can help with scheduled walks and will honor any dietary restrictions. I can also assist with training. Note: I will be the primary personal responsible for any dog care. My partner does not work from home and will occasionally be available as a secondary caregiver. I will update this profile should that need change. About me: I work remotely, so I have flexibility to take time out of my day for walks int he mornings, mid-days, afternoons, and evenings. I also live with my boyfriend in a dog-friendly building. We are looking to board dogs to get him acclimated to dog-ownership in the near future. But I honestly just like having dogs around. It would be some welcome company and a great reason to get outside. Safety & tryst: I always ask a lot of questions when it comes to picking up a dog from their home or staying overnight with them. For example, what scares them or makes them timid? Where are you on helping them cope with reactivity to other dogs or people? Where are they in their training and how are they best motivated (e.g. food v. praise)? At home, I tend to keep them in the room with me where I can keep an eye on them. Since I work from home, talking to them to keep them reassured and distracted is key. But also being present with them if they seem to be whining or barking at something. (Note: at home, I live in a corner unit with no neighbors, so I don't have to worry about noise complaints!). I am also familiar with signs of distress, signs of stomach illness, or even signs of choking. I've worked CPR on dogs and am not afraid to reach down their mouths to grab something they pickup while outside (e.g. sticks, rocks, bugs). Very little grosses me out, which I think can be important when dealing with much larger dogs who get into things. We are an "animals are allowed on the furniture" household, but we would respect whatever boundaries you wanted to maintain with your dogs (i.e. not helping them to indulge in bad habits that wouldn't be welcome at home). I also find it relaxing to comb their fur during blowout season.

“can’t recommend Alex enough for dog walking and sitting. She’s reliable, calm, and clearly experienced with dogs. I always know my dog is safe, happy, and well looked after with her.”

She always makes sure to prioritize playtime and cuddles with dogs, as well as keep them to their requested schedule. Mai is very fitness oriented and strong, and I am certain that she would make sure that your dog does this business, gets some fresh air, and is well taken care of in your absence.”
