“Olivia was wonderful with my friendly yet very stubborn pup! Clued in to where he liked to walk and adjusted accordingly. She’s very kind, professional and responsive. Many thanks and highly recommend!”

About: Happy to service seniors, single moms and those recovering from physical issues at a lower rate, please message me. I’ve been around dogs since I was 14 and have owned multiple dogs at once, including caring for as many as seven at a time along with additional pets. I’m very comfortable managing different personalities, energy levels, and routines in a structured and calm way. From a Yorkie to a Weimaraner, I genuinely enjoy caring for dogs of all sizes, breeds, and energy levels. I have experience with playful puppies who need structure and engagement, as well as senior dogs who benefit from patience, a slower pace, and extra support. All of my dogs have lived long, full lives, and I’ve been fortunate to care for them through every stage, including their later years. Some required additional care due to limited mobility or vision challenges, and I’m very comfortable adjusting my approach to meet those needs. I’m also at ease with dogs who may be more reserved, cranky, or standoffish. I respect each dog’s energy and personality, and I’m patient in building trust while making sure they feel safe and comfortable. As a work-from-home professional, I have a flexible daytime schedule that allows me to provide reliable, consistent walks and drop-in visits. I follow instructions closely, prioritize safety, and make sure your dog feels cared for and secure while you’re away. You can expect clear communication, dependability, and someone who treats your dog like family. I’m a work-from-home professional with a flexible daytime schedule, which allows me to incorporate dog walking and drop-in visits consistently throughout the day. I’m typically available for morning, midday, and early afternoon walks, making me a great fit for weekday routines. Because I work from home, I’m also able to be responsive for last-minute requests when needed. I enjoy building dog walking into my daily routine as a way to stay active, and I prioritize being dependable and on time for every visit. Safety and trust are my top priorities. Whether I’m in your home or out on a walk, only feeding what is instructed, I follow instructions closely and make sure your pet is secure, comfortable, and well cared for at all times. I’m mindful of surroundings during walks, avoid unsafe situations, and adjust pace and routes based on your dog’s needs, whether that means a structured walk, extra exercise, or a slower pace for senior dogs. I’m also attentive to each dog’s behavior and energy, especially for those who may be more reserved or need a little extra patience. In your home, I’m respectful, clean, and treat your space with care. You can expect clear communication, updates as needed, and someone who takes the responsibility of caring for your pet seriously.
“Logan kept my mind at ease as she watched my pug while was away for a week. I got multiple daily check-ins and she was easy to reach if I needed to know anything. I would hire again!”

“Rakel did an amazing job! She was so sweet, attentive, and professional. We have 2 pitbulls (who can be quite the handful) and she conquered the task effortlessly. I will 1000% rebook her!”

“Jada and Naz walked our two poodle mixes at 10pm every night while my husband was out of town for 18 nights. One of our dogs is anxious and reactive, but they were able to work with her kindly and effectively. They had very good communication and were good-spirited even when it was raining.”

About: I've grown up with two golden retrievers and one lab, and many cats. In college, my roommates and I fostered a momma cat and her babies. Right now, I have two cats and a dog of my own. Therefore, I know how it feels to leave a pet alone and want it to have the best of care, and I'll make sure to keep your pet safe, comfortable, and active! I'm very reliable, responsible, and love working with pets! I volunteered at my local animal care league when I was younger. Right now, I volunteer at the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria. I've been on Rover for almost two years now and have watched dogs and cats. People tend to book me for their cats, since I am a bit of cat whisperer, but I personally don’t discriminate between cats and dogs :) Please let me know anything relevant about your pet's needs and I'll be happy to accommodate. This depends on when I am booked; I telework two days a week so those days are more flexible. If I am at the office, I would come by before and after work. Animals wouldn’t be coming to my home. For the clients home, I like to ensure that the pets are having their environment stay as similar as possible to what they usually receive, absent you!

“Even during these unprecedented times, emergency dog care is needed, and Brittney was up to the challenge. She's quick to respond, asks all the right questions, and provides calm and reassurance that your pet is being taken care of. Great communication and service!”

“Megan was really sweet and I can tell she really loves dogs. I was super sick when I contacted her asking if she could take my pup. She went out of her way to send me updates during the walk but also when she was arriving. She was also incredibly polite! I hope I can ask her to take my dog out again as she came back in such high spirits but then layed down tired out from her walk. Thank you so much Megan!”

“Lindsay was fantastic. She was very easy to get in touch with, was promptly on time for the walk we scheduled, and took great care of our pup on his walk. Highly recommended!”

“Simply awesome!! Emilee was super helpful and knowledgeable. She met my dog Hank it was an instant connection! So happy to have found a great reliable person I can trust.”

About: I have owned several dogs over the years, but as my life got busy I could no longer care for a dog in my home. I really miss having a pet but, cant commit to having one full-time. I really wished services like this were available to me years ago and now that it is available I hope to help others keep their pets! It helps me too! I get to enjoy the love of a dog or cat for a few hour a day or a few days per week while you get to take care of your personal business. I am a HR Professional by day and animal lover at all times! I work from home 100% of the time and I take a few meetings during the day away from home. My schedule is pretty flexible. I work from home, so my schedule is pretty flexible. There are some hours during the week where I'll be away from home, but if you need to message me about the schedule or your specific needs, I'm sure we can figure something out. I am insistent on meeting the parents and the dog before I provide services. This way we can agree on the needs of the specific dog rather than focus on my needs. I use that meeting to decide and help the parents decide if I am the right caretaker for their fury loved one. I live in a secure condo building with plenty of pets in a neighborhood that is very walkable and has plenty of dog parks around.
“Absolutely! Here’s your revised review with those thoughtful details included: ⸻ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We were visiting Washington D.C. and needed someone to walk and care for our pup while we attended events. Rut was amazing! She even met us the day before for a meet-and-greet at no charge, which gave us total peace of mind. She came to our hotel and walked our cavapoo twice — she was incredibly professional, accommodating, and kind. She really went out of her way to work with our schedule and timeline. Her communication was excellent, and we felt completely at ease leaving our pup in her care. Highly recommend her to anyone needing trusted and thoughtful pet care in DC”

“Sarah was amazing! She was great at communicating with me about how her time with Oreo was going and responded very well to a couple of unexpected situations that happened during my time away from home. I will definitely be asking her to help pet sit again!”

South West dog parents share their Rover experiences
I am so grateful for Thomas the incredible care he takes of my 3.5yo Great Dane! Thomas is a consummate professional, from diligence with all my requests to even thinking proactively about the weather. He is truly a wizard at capturing action shots, too! His detailed descriptions of the walk and fun pictures are such a ray of sunshine to receive in the middle of my work day. My Dane has some dog reactivity and I am grateful for Thomas’s ability to work around his needs. Thomas has been walking him for two weeks now and I will happily keep booking him for as long as I can.

Eric was amazing! He stepped in on short notice to walk our dog Sammy, and even gave our cat Lucy some attention when he would stop by to pick Sammy up for the walk. He was very communicative and friendly and did not hesitate to set up a meet and greet before we left town. We would use Eric again in a heartbeat, he was great!
