“My schedule is not cut and dry, it is very sporadic and unpredictable and Sarah could not be any more roll with the punches! She has been wonderful through my chaotic work schedule and dependable. I definitely recommend Sarah for watching anyone's fur baby.”

About: Hi! I work from home and make my own schedule so I’m able and happy to be at your pups beck and call/woof?! My Husky-lab mix, Duke, which I had for 10 years changed my life. Besides the experience of caring for him, and his issues with arthritis, along with his stubborn Husky streak, I’ve also cared for many of my friend’s dogs in various capacities. I recently lost him which has now given me the motivation and time to pursue spending it with other’s dogs. That’s as simply as I can put it. I have the time to be with your dog when you can’t and promise you he will get the most personal and attentive care you could want. I love walking, hiking, a vigorous game of catch, a downtown stroll on Church Street, or doing whatever your dog wants to do - I have the time and the love to do it. So as of now there are no other dogs at home; your dog will literally be part of the family and have 24-hour company and supervision, except perhaps an hour or two for errands. I don’t have a yard but a small balcony, but I am a 5-minute walk from the green path, North Beach, Arm’s Forest, Ethan Allen Park, Leddy Park and I have a dog-safe vehicle to travel anywhere, if your pup likes a nice drive. I also have A/C for those hot summer months! They’re also allowed on the furniture and beds. I’ve had years of experience taking care of all of my friend’s dogs; walking and sitting … but always for love not for a fee, hence why there are no ‘paid’ reviews. Happy to answer any questions. I work from home and my schedule is completely flexible and will revolve around your pets; that’s it. I’m at home full time except for an hour or two to run errands. I have a 3-story townhouse with balcony. Your dog will have run of the house but if stairs are an issue, he can be contained to the main level, if necessary. I can gate the stairs. Your dog is allowed on beds and furniture and outside on balcony when I’m home. There are no other dogs here.
About: My family grew up with dogs and cats; the animals are treated as family. Pet sitting (and baby sitting) were part of the routine from early on. My Consulting work is done remotely, which makes my schedule flexible for Rover assignments, and, additionally leaves ample Time for getting out on the trails with tails. I enjoy being out-of-doors, and hope that some time outside is part of your furriends’ daily care plan. I believe in sticking to the schedule that clients have established with their animals for meals, toileting, play time and quiet rest.
“Christine was amazing!! It always feels so good to leave a pet in the capable hands of a friendly, caring person. She was on time and followed instructions - with a puppy that can be a challenge at times so I truly appreciate the effort. Thanks so much- I will definitely reach out again if I need help with Zoey again”

“Jayna was great with my Titan. He was pretty nervous but Jayna spent a lot of time patiently working with him so he would feel comfortable and made a lot of progress. Highly recommended!!!”

About: Past work experience at a small-but-mighty no-kill shelter (Animal Resource Center in Bloomsburg, PA). Over the years, I've lost count of how many times I've played Fairy Dogmother, but I truly never get tired of it. Pets are family, and when folks entrust me with caring for their babies while they're away, I take that seriously! In addition to work experience, I'm a past volunteer for Charleston Animal Society, and my own dog, Zelda, and I are a certified therapy dog team with Alliance of Therapy Dogs (ATD). My work is fully remote and I'm fortunate to have some autonomy in how I structure my day, so I can generally be fully present and swiftly responsive to your pet's needs. (My partner works in-office, so I may occasionally need to pop home to attend to my own pup's meals or potty breaks.) All Charleston Animal Society volunteers who wish to work directly with adoptable dogs must take a short safety course, and I've successfully passed this with flying colors. I'm experienced with administering oral medications. At the moment, I'm training for an ultramarathon, so if your pup is high-energy, you've come to the right place.
About: Hi, I'm Elissa! I'm a lifelong animal lover who's been pet sitting on Rover on and off for nearly 10 years, depending on where life has taken me. These days I work from home, which gives me the flexibility to spend more time caring for pets while saving for a wedding. I grew up with dogs, so caring for them has always come naturally. Most of my Rover experience has been with dogs of all ages, sizes and personalities… including puppies, high-energy herding breeds, senior dogs, reactive dogs, and pets recovering from surgery or taking medications. In 2020, I adopted my first cat, and I quickly became a full-fledged cat person. I've also lived with two cats who didn't get along, so I'm comfortable reading feline body language, giving nervous cats the space they need, and helping them feel safe and comfortable. One of my biggest strengths is adapting to each pet's unique personality and energy level. Whether your pet wants a hiking buddy, a playmate, a quiet companion, or someone to stick closely to their routine, I'm happy to meet them where they are. When you're away, I'll care for your pets the same way I hope someone cares for mine. I can offer patience, kindness, plenty of affection, and lots of updates. Our pets are a big part of our lives, but to them, we're their whole world.
“It was my first time using Rover and I was a bit anxious, but Heidi was lovely and very reliable. I can tell she’s a pro and my cats were well taken care of. Will definitely book again!”

About: I love pets. Ever since I was little, playing with my pets and taking care of them gave me a sense of importance. To help do so for members of my community would be a great way to reconnect with the simple pleasures of quality pet time. I currently work full-time 4 days a week. The other three days of the week I have incredible flexibility. On the days that I do work, I can flexible in the mornings until 12, 12:30 latest. I will be unable to have pets at my own home due to landlord requests. But, I have ample experience walking dogs and ensuring they are properly supervised. I also am incredibly active and a strong individual, callable of heavy lifting and can mitigate any dragging from a leash.
About: I have been taking care of dogs for over 6 years. I enjoy getting to know your dogs routines and working to make them feel as happy as possible while you are away. I am great at setting up sniffaris, am happy to go on adventures or walks, and will send you lots of photos! I’m currently working part-time so I can be very flexible. I can offer house-sitting services and also drop-in care throughout the week as you need. I am a calm person who takes the time to get to know animals. I will make sure your pet is comfortable and will keep your space clean while you are away.

“Amelia was great with my 1-year old cat Ash. She gave him some brushing, playtime, pets, and sent frequent updates with plenty of photos for each check in. Would definitely recommend Amelia and I’m sure will be using her services again in the future!”

“I am very happy with my experience with Clare. She is sweet, kind, and caring. This was my first time leaving my cat Sprite alone and only having stop in visits to be fed and played with. Clare took pictures of Sprite during each visit and made sure she was taken care of. I will definitely hire Clare again!”

About: Hi! I have been taking care of animals for years whether it’s training, dog-walking, fostering, or dropping in to dog or cat sit. I am a college student entering my third year at UVM. I am also an owner to 3 amazing cats and 1 dog at home. I have dealt with young puppies and my step-father himself is a dog trainer. I have learned a lot from both him and taking care of various family, friends, and neighbors pets. I am eager to spend some time with your pets and make sure they feel happy, healthy, safe, and spoiled like I treat my own. Currently as I am living in Burlington and just unwinding I am available during the weekdays and can be flexible with my schedule as things come up! In a clients home I will care for pets like my own but with any instructions, quirky dinner routines, or mandatory bedtime belly rubs needed. Even if you have a puppy or kitten and have no routine at all yet I can be flexible with that!

About: I’ve had pets my whole life. Whether it be walking the dog, changing a litter box, or maintaining a food bowl, I know how important it is for pet owners to have their furry friends be cared for. Throughout high school, I had the privilege to work at my local afterschool daycare, so I am no stranger to keeping tabs on numerous clients at once, maintaining a clean working space, and of course having lots of fun. Above all else, since I have no pets at school, it would be doing ME a favor to get to check in and take care of your precious animals. I’m currently working part time, so I will have plenty of flexibility to fit time in for visits, walks, and more. When I’m not working, I’m stealing time with friends animals or asking to pet people’s dogs when they’re on a walk. Your precious pet’s safety comes first. I am very cautious when entering and leaving a house. I am always sure to double check the fit of a harness/leash. I will be sure to double check whatever instructions you give me and am more than happy to accommodate however possible.

About: I’ve taken care of a variety of dogs, cats, guinea pigs, lizards, and plants! I am also great in a crisis and have experience bringing sick animals to veterinary hospitals. As a school teacher, I work on weekdays and arrive at home close to 4:30pm each day. I’m available for dog walking or feeding animals after school and available for longer care on weekends. In a clients home, I will care for the animal and the house as requested. I am very communicative and am always professional and respectful.

Victoria was wonderful with my two dogs while we were away at wedding events for two days. My dog Ruby is a bit timid around new people, but Victoria won her over quickly with treats and affection. Victoria came by for an hour each day to feed and spend time with them, and she stayed the entire hour, which we deeply appreciated. She is reliable, caring, and highly recommended!
Skaya and I liked Charlotte from the moment we met her! She is kind, warm, and obviously cares deeply for animals. I would highly recommend her to anybody seeking a trustworthy person to take care of their pets. I really appreciated the sweet photo of Skaya and updates I received. Thank you!

Victoria has been such a big help. We booked drop in visits and house sitting practically last minute and she was very accommodating! The most important piece is that our dogs love her :) I would absolutely recommend Victoria, I know we will be using her services in the future :)

So thankful I found Lianna! She goes above and beyond for drop in visits with my pup a couple times each week - not just making sure she gets dinner water and potty breaks, but taking time to reinforce good habits and work on some training with her. It’s so nice knowing she is in caring and thoughtful care. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a pet sitter that is responsible, punctual and genuinely cares!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone.
