“Kristy did a great job taking care of our cat. He is high energy and I really appreciated that she took the time to play with him and give him some mental stimulation. She communicated regularly and was always quick to respond if I had questions. Would definitely recommend her!”

About: I've been around dogs since I was a child, and I see them as part of the family. I got my first dog when I was eleven, but our house grew and grew with multiple dogs, and I currently help care for my family's six dogs. In addition, my parents and I have fostered dogs together, which gave me hands-on experience with dogs of all ages, breeds, and backgrounds, including those who needed extra patience, structure, and reassurance while adjusting to new environments. I have years of experience dog sitting for family, friends, and neighbors, including overnight stays, feeding routines, walks, playtime, and giving my full affection and attention. Through fostering, I learned how to read dog behavior, help dogs feel safe in unfamiliar situations, and learned to support basic routines and transitions. What sets me apart is how attentive I am to learning each pet's individual needs. I will always take the time to learn their routines, levels of energy, and their own personalities so they can feel safe, comfortable, and loved by me while their owners are away. I'm currently a part-time student, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to be very present and attentive to the pets I'm caring for. I'm able to plan my days around feedings, walks, playtime, and check-ins, so your pets will receive consistent care throughout the day. My top priorities are always to create a safe, trusting environment and to ensure a comfortable atmosphere. I make sure all pets feel secure, calm, and loved. I carefully follow each owner's instructions regarding feeding, walks, medications, routines, and house rules to maintain consistency as needed and possible. In a client's home, I treat the space with respect and keep everything clean and organized. I make sure doors, gates, and leashes are always secure, and I'm very mindful of my surroundings during walks. I also take the time to get to know each pet's personality so I know how to respond appropriately to their needs and comfort levels. Communication is key, so I always provide regular updates, photos, and messages to give pet parents peace of mind. My goal is to create a safe, loving, and stress-free environment where all pets feel comfortable and cared for, and each owner feels confident they've left their pets in good hands.
“We were so relieved to have Cara care for our two cats when our usual pet sitter unexpectedly cancelled soon before our holiday trip. Cara did a fantastic job; we knew our cats were in good hands!!”

“Courtney was a great sitter! She took good care of our 2 sensitive kitties, with lots of photos and detailed notes from the visits. Would definitely recommend!”

“Avery was consistent and went above and beyond what I expected when I booked her services. I was thinking she would show up, feed me cats, and leave. Instead she spent a little time with them and gave them attention. It was definitely appreciated. I would absolutely book with her again.”

“Nina is was prompt, communicative, and took good care of my animals. Nina was able to provide additional care for our elderly dog and give her required medications, despite our dog being difficult.”

“I am very happy with my experience with Clare. She is sweet, kind, and caring. This was my first time leaving my cat Sprite alone and only having stop in visits to be fed and played with. Clare took pictures of Sprite during each visit and made sure she was taken care of. I will definitely hire Clare again!”

About: I will provide a on-the-ready daycare/check-in service. Check in's will include play time engagement, spending time with them if they have been alone, walks, administer medicine if need be, and overall quality check in. I can provide these services at a moments notice with being local to Burlington, and can also provide these services over an extended period of time to suite your schedule. Daily check in's can last anywhere from 30 mins to one hour, depending on your needs. I work full time but my schedule is flexible. I have watched and cared for multiple family friends cats and dogs since my teens, as well as now helping colleagues watch their pets while traveling out of town. My experience ranges from the simple check in's; walks, playtime, feeding - to administering shots, ear spray, tic and flea medicine, etc. I currently work a hybrid schedule Mon-Thurs in office and half-day Fridays from home, moving back to full-day Friday's from home come fall. Even when in office, my schedule is flexible and I am out of work by 4pm, and can step out quick if need be throughout the day, making sudden pop-in visits easy for me. And making scheduled visits even easier. I live on a quieter street and my apartment is set back from the road, giving peace of mind when out on walks or in the yard. Crating is always an option if you are more comfortable and familiar with that.
“Felipe was phenomenal to work with. Quick replies, friendly demeanor. He cheerfully took care of a mess that really wasn't anticipated or typical. Photos every day and healthy happy cats when I returned!”

About: Hi, my name is Hailey and I am a college student at UVM looking to make some extra money while I can. I have had animals my whole life, both cats and a dog, so I have plenty of experience taking care of animals! I am high energy so going on walks won’t be an issue and I even look forward to it. I also am very comfortable with all sizes of animals so whatever works for me! I have also pet sat before so I am comfortable taking care of an animal. Overall, I love all animals and I am looking forward to dog walking and helping you out with your pets. Feel free to message with any questions. I am currently working full time at a lab at the University of Vermont in S. Burlington and I am looking for some additional work after the workday is over or before it even begins! I treat pets with the same respect that would any other person and I look forward to spending time with your animals and giving them an enjoyable experience.
“My schedule is not cut and dry, it is very sporadic and unpredictable and Sarah could not be any more roll with the punches! She has been wonderful through my chaotic work schedule and dependable. I definitely recommend Sarah for watching anyone's fur baby.”

About: I am a Ph.D. student in Animal Welfare and former emergency veterinary assistant, I provide experienced, compassionate care for pets of all ages. I've cared for senior and disabled dogs, cats, rabbits, horses, and goats, and my wildlife rehabilitation experience helps me recognize signs of illness, injury, and stress. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to provide care throughout the day. I'm available for morning, afternoon, and evening walks, drop-in visits, feeding, playtime, and plenty of attention, so I can easily adapt to your pet's normal routine. “We were in a pinch, needed a new dog walker as we just adopted our dog and I contacted 3 other people before Lacy. The last person canceled on me, but Lacy was able to help us at the last minute, and came a the day before to meet us. Our black lab mutt Aurora loved her. I’m happy to find someone who can help us out on occasion.”
About: I’ve had my own dogs all my life and have sat and walked pets professionally for around 2 years, so I am equipped with the skills necessary to keep pets safe and happy. I’ve had one-time clients or recurring clients — whatever the owner needs! I love pets and have always gotten along well when I meet a friend’s pet, hence my interest in expanding this passion. I am currently in medical school and my schedule is relatively flexible - I am able to walk your pets, drop in to make sure they’re okay, or stay with them all day! I generally have classes in the mornings and afternoons mostly off. I am available for walks or overnight stays depending on the pet parent’s request. I am happy to work with clients and figure out a schedule that works for them! I abide by all rules the owner set. I will inquire ahead of time of any special needs the pet has or certain routines from the owner. I am not there to intrude - just offer the same level of care and love as the dog would normally get! I also understand some pets may be anxious with a new person in the house, so I will do my best to ease into my position and offer a lot of comfort to the pets before trying to play with them or feed them.
About: (I am currently unavailable for new bookings Thursday through Sunday.) My name is Casey, I'm a student majoring in creative writing, and I'm looking to expand my house sitting portfolio. I have been a dog walker and house sitter for three clients/families in 2025 so far and love popping by for walks every two hours with your pup. Size, barking, and puppy-ness are non-issues! I have extreme patience and good shoulders. My grandma always told me to leave the house you're visiting neater than when you got there, so I have an eye for cleanliness and I don't want you to feel like someone has been living in your home when you come back. I.E. I will ask you if I can vacuum. I'm starting school in the fall at Vermont State University in Johnson, so I am free to book any time this summer, unless I have another doggie booked that day. I'm a list maker so I like to write down your instructions when we have a formal introduction. Food, walks, potty time, play time, training, and housekeeping will all be done to your standard.
About: I have always owned dogs, and I couldn’t not imagine my life without animals. I’ve been taking care of all sorts of pets, starting around when I was 12 years old. I have experience caring for dogs, cats, fish, and even rabbits! I’d be honored to take care of your beloved animals as if they were my own. This includes kittens, puppies, and senior care. I’m a college student home for the summer with plenty of free time—perfect for long walks, playtime, and lots of love. I am quite flexible when it comes to scheduling and am open to longer hours. My service at the moment would be me caring for your pets in your home. Of course, I will treat your space with the same respect as I would my own. I will maintain your pet’s routine, keep things clean, and provide updates and pictures of your cutie.

Christine was amazing!! It always feels so good to leave a pet in the capable hands of a friendly, caring person. She was on time and followed instructions - with a puppy that can be a challenge at times so I truly appreciate the effort. Thanks so much- I will definitely reach out again if I need help with Zoey again

Victoria was wonderful with my two dogs while we were away at wedding events for two days. My dog Ruby is a bit timid around new people, but Victoria won her over quickly with treats and affection. Victoria came by for an hour each day to feed and spend time with them, and she stayed the entire hour, which we deeply appreciated. She is reliable, caring, and highly recommended!
Skaya and I liked Charlotte from the moment we met her! She is kind, warm, and obviously cares deeply for animals. I would highly recommend her to anybody seeking a trustworthy person to take care of their pets. I really appreciated the sweet photo of Skaya and updates I received. Thank you!

Victoria has been such a big help. We booked drop in visits and house sitting practically last minute and she was very accommodating! The most important piece is that our dogs love her :) I would absolutely recommend Victoria, I know we will be using her services in the future :)

So thankful I found Lianna! She goes above and beyond for drop in visits with my pup a couple times each week - not just making sure she gets dinner water and potty breaks, but taking time to reinforce good habits and work on some training with her. It’s so nice knowing she is in caring and thoughtful care. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a pet sitter that is responsible, punctual and genuinely cares!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.
