“Helena gave so much love to our dog and she has a comfortable and trustworthy environment. I felt I did not need to worry while on vacation. She took detailed notes since our pet has a special diet, and she seemed to enjoy cuddling and exercising our pet.”

“Valerie took great care of Bosun while I was out of town. She kept me updated with pics and texts and was responsive. She has a huge backyard so plenty of space for him to run around I’d definitely leave him with Valerie again if I’m going away!”

“Christina S. and her husband took very good care of Rocket! They play with him, walk him, give frequent updates and pictures. 10/10 dog sitter and highly recommend! This was our second time using her and will be booking again! I never worry about our fur baby when I'm away.”

“Jennifer was wonderful from the moment we reached out to see if she was available to watch Clark. She responded quickly, took the time to ask about his care needs, and genuinely wanted to know how she could best support him during his stay. From the very beginning, she gave us confidence that he would be in excellent hands. When we dropped Clark off, Jennifer was warm, welcoming, and made sure we felt completely at ease. She kept her promise by sending regular updates and photos throughout his stay, which gave us tremendous peace of mind. It was clear that she treated Clark like one of her own and made him feel right at home. Jennifer truly followed through on everything she said she would do, and we could tell Clark had a wonderful time with her. We highly recommend Jennifer to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and dependable sitter who communicates exceptionally well and provides outstanding care.”

About: Animals have always been a huge part of my life, and caring for them is something I truly enjoy. I have years of experience helping friends, family, and neighbors with dogs and cats of all ages, sizes, and energy levels. Whether your pet loves adventures, long walks, or simply curling up on the couch, I'm happy to match their routine. My goal is to make every pet feel comfortable, safe, and loved while giving owners confidence that their furry family member is in great hands. I'll treat your pet like one of my own and always provide regular updates and photos. I work full-time during the week, which makes pet sitting a perfect way to spend my evenings and weekends doing something I love. I'm available for morning, evening, and weekend visits, walks, and overnight care, and I'll always make sure your pet gets plenty of attention, exercise, and love. I do my best to be flexible and will communicate clearly about my availability so you know exactly what to expect. I provide a calm, safe, and loving environment where pets can feel comfortable and relaxed. I follow each pet's normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, medications, and bedtime routines. I make sure pets always have fresh water, plenty of attention, and a secure environment. I'll also send regular photo updates so you always know how your furry family member is doing.
“Kimberly and her family took amazing care of my little old pup. Gave him love and snuggles sent updated photos to us the whole time we were away. What an incredible experience. We will absolutely be using Kimberly as our sitter again!”

About: I have always had pets growing up as a child and my love for them has grown into my adulthood even more. I have a passion for learning and understanding all different types of animals. My experience in Pet Care is from having my own pets and caring for family, friends and volunteering over the years. I currently am a part time student, I got out the navy a year ago. So I am taking time to myself after all those years in the service and so I have a very flexible schedule. I will follow all rules or accommodations for the pets especially in there home. I will always provide a safe experience and keep the dogs a number one priority
“Jay was amazing! Our dog was well cared for and Jay gave us great updates. He communicated promptly and our pup was definitely cared for! Highly recommend Jay as a sitter for your pet.”

“They were a lovely family, and took care of my pup very well! They took him on walks, gave him plenty of treats, and showed him more love than I could have asked for. I received pictures and text messages every day. I felt comfortable having my little one stay with them while I was away. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a dog sitter.”

“Mia was amazing with my anxious dog Reya! She was very communicative, took great care of her, and sent me lots of pictures and videos throughout her stay. Would recommend Mia to anyone!”

“We left our German Shepherd with Mandy for a week. She is an anxious and a reactive dog who is unsure of strangers. Mandy managed her so well that when we picked her up, we haven’t seen any signs of stress. Mandy having a fenced back yard was also an excellent benefit that our dog got to go out as much as she wanted. She enjoyed the week away with Mandy. You can leave your pets under Mandy ‘s care without hesitation.”

“Cosette took amazing care of our two dogs! It was easy to see that they were well-loved and felt at home. They came home content and happy. I think they were even sad to leave Cosette and her family. They enjoyed the walks and playing ball. They received all the affection they needed and more. While we were away, we received messages and videos, and Cosette was always quick to respond. This was our first time using Rover and the whole experience was great! I would definitely use Cosette again!”

About: Ever since I was born I have lived with two pets. More recently, my parents bought a dog two years ago. This time around, I was a much bigger part in their upbringing (including training, feeding, all of their walking and exercise, playing, and just overall loving) because my parents traveled much more due to me and my siblings being older. My boyfriend and I always joked that he was almost our own dog! After moving out in December, I adopted my own dog in early February due to the heartbreak of missing my parents pup, and we couldn’t be happier with the decision. Our home is filled with so much more love and happiness since growing our little family. Other family meme ers (including my brother with his Akida) and friends have used me to dog-sit as well. Nothing would make me happier than to allow my little Theo to make new friends, while bringing love to pups when their parents need some extra help! Other than teaching a few yoga classes a week, I am an at home mathematics teacher. I get to make my own hours, and my pet and yours will always come first. I have a fenced deck with a 2 x 4 ft grass pad for potty time. My dog loves it! We still try to take 2-3 walks per day with mom and 1 with dad to ensure proper exercise. We also have a fenced in dog park and tennis courts where we take leashes off so we can all run around freely together! My pup (and yours!) staying safe, happy and healthy is always at the forefront of my mind. :-)
About: I’ve had animals since I was a kid and always enjoyed taking care of them! It’s very rewarding for me. In my early 20s I was a dog trainer I’m a stay at home dad. We have a 10 and a 5 year old. I take walks throughout the day and between my wife someone is always home unless we are taking the kids somewhere. If they like the car and the park I can even take them with me! I walk a lot and am outside with my kids throughout the day. My kids love dogs so they will be showered with love and cuddles (if they enjoy that).
“Olivia took such good care of Bernard! She was very communicative and kept us updated with photos. She has a great fenced in yard… allows for dogs to be active!!! Would def recommend.”

Hilary is caring dog owner who treated our puppy Taffy as if she were her own. We are very pleased with the care. We got frequent updates and pictures. Taffy made a point of going back in to say to her dog Sunny before we left. We have already booked our next vacation with Hilary. We have found Taffy’s home away from home.

Brooklin took amazing care of my cat, Lylla, while I was away. Lylla is very shy around new people, but Brooklin was incredibly patient and was able to get her to warm up, which says a lot! She went above and beyond to make sure Lylla was comfortable and cared for, even helping encourage her to eat when she wasn’t showing much interest in food. Communication was excellent throughout the entire stay. Brooklin kept me updated with messages and photos, which gave me so much peace of mind knowing my spoiled girl was in good hands. I could tell she genuinely cared about Lylla’s well-being and treated her like her own. I would absolutely book with Brooklin again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring pet sitter.

Andrew and Erin, I’ve been the best pet sitters we could ask for! Our little multi-Pooh, Chloe, absolutely loves them, and has a great time with them! They are very communicative, kind and send lots of pictures and updates. It makes leaving her so much easier knowing that she’s having a great time while I’m gone.

Ryan was great! Made sure our babies were taken care of, got walks, and especially lots of snuggles, and he updated me on most days with pics. This was our first time using Rover (normally board the dogs), but I will definitely come back to Ryan next time we take a trip. Thanks for taking care of our love bugs, Ryan!

Audre was wonderful! She treated my dog, Alfie, like her own. She sent many pictures and kept me updated while I was away. She even cooked him a nice dinner of brown rice and veggies, which he absolutely loved! I would absolutely trust Audre to watch my dog again whenever I need to be out of town.

So happy I found Danielle. Dakota loved her right away, and she took great care of her while I was away for a full week. Dakota hurt her paw right before her stay and had to take medicine twice a day the entire time. Danielle was a true pro and kept me informed with lots of photos and videos each day, which I loved! Danielle will hands down be our go-to sitter from now on.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
