“Scottie had such a good time with Natalie. He was able to play a ton and being able to free roam definitely made him feel right at home. Natalie was also super responsive and flexible when I had to modify my booking with her.”

“I am excited to rave about our experience with Christina! My dog, Bentley, loves going to her home for petsitting. Christina has excellent communication and provides the best updates (including pictures and videos). She is well informed of a pet's needs.Even when she takes Bentley for walks, she goes above and beyond. When we pull into her neighborhood, Bentley cannot contain his excitement and eagerness to see her.”

“I couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter! Angela took excellent care of my dog and I appreciated her daily updates while I was away. Your dog is in great hands with her!”

“Rebecca and Pippa were great with my pup Harlow! She felt comfortable as soon as she met both of them. Rebecca was wonderful about being flexible with our changing travel plans and was very communicative and responsive. Would definitely recommend and use again! Thanks Rebecca and Pippa! :)”

About: You can trust me to take excellent care of your pet! As well as owning my own pets most of my life (dogs, cats, ferret, bird, rabbits, etc.), I also have a Bachelor of Science degree in pre-veterinary medicine. I have pet-sat for several friends and clients, volunteered at shelters, worked at veterinary clinics, boarding facilities, and for a professional dog walking / cat sitting company. You can rest easy as your pet will be safe in my care. I follow directions well and get the details right! Why I love dog walking and sitting: I have been a dog lover since the day I was born. My first dog, Chief, helped raise me! Since then, I have owned a dog most of my life. Some have called me the "dog-whisperer". I have a pretty good perception of dogs and connect very easily with most. My last dog, Wendell, was a 150 lb. mastiff whom I adopted when he was 4.5 years old. He had never been socialized and was scared of most people, so in the six years we were together, I gained a lot of first-hand experience working through behavioral issues in a very large and strong breed. Our current dog is Lucy, a happy-go-lucky bull terrier who is deaf. She loves every living being! I’m also comfortable taking care of cats and other pets. My experience administering medication: I've given lots of oral meds and various ointments, eye drops, ear drops, etc. My schedule is pretty flexible. I’m typically available any day of the week and can do early mornings and late evenings if needed. Let me know your needs and I will do my best to accommodate! ONE DOG FAMILY AT A TIME Boarding and Doggie Day Care: It will only be your dog(s) and our one dog staying at our house. We have a secure, fenced yard, a doggie door, and a covered back patio with doggie beds perfect for lounging in the sun or shade. Our friendly bull terrier, Lucy, will happily keep your dog company! We can easily keep your dog in a separate room while we are away from the house if you prefer. Lucy’s dad/my significant other, Pedro, also lives here and also loves animals.
“Our dogs were very comfortable at Robert’s and he treated them as if they were his own . He sent a picture daily and I felt at ease knowing they were well cared for . I will def use him again when I need a dog sitter . I highly recommend him for your nxt vacation to care for your dogs”

“Excellent, prompt, communications. Andrea was amenable to a pre-stay visit to ensure dogs were compatible with the environment. Dogs received excellent care during their stay and Andrea was willing to flex on the pick-up date when our return travel was delayed.”

“Hilary took such great care of our girl! Sadie has a lot of quirks and takes time to warm up and Hilary was patient and understanding. I had a lot of peace of mind while we were away on our trip knowing she was well taken care of!”

“Kaylah and her family were so wonderful during our puppy's recent stay! She took great care of our fur baby and kept us informed with pics and updates during his stay. She was also very flexible, accommodating and understanding with our unexpected change in travel plans.”

About: I have worked with all types of animals since I was a child. My friends would call me the dog whisperer because I just understand them naturally! I love training dogs and horses. I currently have 3 dogs, 2 cats and a flock of ducks! All of my dogs have been raised from puppies. I have cared for senior pets as well. I have spent hundreds of hours over the last several years educating myself on animal behavior for my own pets benefits so I am well equipped to love and care for yours as well! I have always been passionate about working with animals of all type. I will always go the extra mile to provide topnotch care and service. My husband and I travel often so I know how important it can be to find petcare that you can feel good about! I currently work from home full time with a very flexible schedule. I am able to come to your house during the day or stay nights! I can offer limited boarding as well. I love animals and I love travel. I would be committed to caring for your pets as if they were my own. I enjoy getting to know your pets as each one is so special. I am reliable and can accommodate just about any extra requests such as bathing, working on training skills, hiving medication, providing adequate excercise etc. I will ALWAYS do this with your pets safety and happiness as my top priority.

“Jennifer was wonderful from the moment we reached out to see if she was available to watch Clark. She responded quickly, took the time to ask about his care needs, and genuinely wanted to know how she could best support him during his stay. From the very beginning, she gave us confidence that he would be in excellent hands. When we dropped Clark off, Jennifer was warm, welcoming, and made sure we felt completely at ease. She kept her promise by sending regular updates and photos throughout his stay, which gave us tremendous peace of mind. It was clear that she treated Clark like one of her own and made him feel right at home. Jennifer truly followed through on everything she said she would do, and we could tell Clark had a wonderful time with her. We highly recommend Jennifer to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and dependable sitter who communicates exceptionally well and provides outstanding care.”

“Valeria was absolutely awesome with our fur baby! We could not have gotten a better sitter for Luna's first overnight away from home since being rescued! The yard was amazing and Valerie provided the very best of care for a very nervous pup!”

“Josephine was very accomodating for our last minute dogsitting needs Thanksgiving weekend. She took great care of Lucy who loved playing with Roxy! We appreciate her patience and love she gave our anxious dog.”

“Cosette is the best sitter we could have found for our baby, Khaleesi. She keeps us posted with pictures and videos. Khaleesi typically has horrible separation anxiety. But the frequent contact from Cosette reassures me that my baby is happy and the videos prove it. Highly recommend Cosette!!”

About: Hi! I’m Andrew. I grew up with dogs and now care for them through Rover because I genuinely miss having one around every day. I provide a safe, clean home with a fenced yard, lots of playtime, walks, and plenty of updates while you’re away. I treat every dog like they’re my own. Side note, I do have a cat but she is an outside cat. I’m currently working 5am-1pm but I will be switching to night shifts around the end of July 2026, those shifts will be 3-11, 4-12pm. I also work right down the road so I don’t mind taking a lunch and running home to take out the pup for a potty break. I have a fenced yard, an upstairs and downstairs with a doggy gate leftover from our last dog, plenty of waste bags and dog leashes and some leftover toys. It is a very comfortable clean house.
The median cost per night for pet boarding in Castle Hayne is $45

Christina was amazing! We needed a last-minute sitter, and she came through for us without hesitation. Her response time was incredibly fast, which gave us so much peace of mind. Our little girl had a wonderful time with Christina and her fiancé and seemed just as comfortable as she is at home. We also received lots of pictures and updates throughout our trip, which meant so much to us. We would absolutely book with Christina again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, reliable sitter!

This was our second stay with Jordan, and I realized I never left a review after the first one. However, I definitely should have! As a first time Rover user, in fact the first time ever leaving my 9-year old pup with a stranger, I was incredibly nervous about leaving my dog with someone new. Jordan completely exceeded my expectations. He sent thoughtful updates throughout the stay with a plethora of photos, which gave me so much peace of mind, and it was obvious that my dog was being loved and well cared for. Not only is Jordan amazing, but his family is so kind and welcoming. You can truly tell they care about the dogs they watch and treat them like part of the family. Knowing my pup was safe, happy, and surrounded by so much love made all the difference. I can't thank Jordan enough for taking such great care of my dog, Lily. If you're looking for someone trustworthy, caring, and communicative, I highly recommend booking with him. We'll definitely be back!

This is th second time, our Nelly has spent with Danika and her family. And I think they really take our girl into their family. Her husband and kids are involved and make an effort to come out to greet us too. Nelly wears her emotions on her sleeve😂and she is a happy girl when we leave her and when we pick her up. This gives us a great peace of mind. Thank you, Danika. We look forward to Nelly staying with you again. And again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
