Savannah was great! She is so sweet and good with animals. She gave my high energy Australian Shepherd puppy lots of enrichment, and he had a lot of fun. She also gave my cat a safe quiet space so she was comfortable during her stay as well. She was also very responsive and sent plenty of updates and photos, so I knew my animals were in good hands. I would highly recommend Savannah, and I would definitely book again!

Hilary took such great care of our girl! Sadie has a lot of quirks and takes time to warm up and Hilary was patient and understanding. I had a lot of peace of mind while we were away on our trip knowing she was well taken care of!

About: You can trust me to take excellent care of your pet! As well as owning my own pets most of my life (dogs, cats, ferret, bird, rabbits, etc.), I also have a Bachelor of Science degree in pre-veterinary medicine. I have pet-sat for several friends and clients, volunteered at shelters, worked at veterinary clinics, boarding facilities, and for a professional dog walking / cat sitting company. You can rest easy as your pet will be safe in my care. I follow directions well and get the details right! Why I love dog walking and sitting: I have been a dog lover since the day I was born. My first dog, Chief, helped raise me! Since then, I have owned a dog most of my life. Some have called me the "dog-whisperer". I have a pretty good perception of dogs and connect very easily with most. My last dog, Wendell, was a 150 lb. mastiff whom I adopted when he was 4.5 years old. He had never been socialized and was scared of most people, so in the six years we were together, I gained a lot of first-hand experience working through behavioral issues in a very large and strong breed. Our current dog is Lucy, a happy-go-lucky bull terrier who is deaf. She loves every living being! I’m also comfortable taking care of cats and other pets. My experience administering medication: I've given lots of oral meds and various ointments, eye drops, ear drops, etc. My schedule is pretty flexible. I’m typically available any day of the week and can do early mornings and late evenings if needed. Let me know your needs and I will do my best to accommodate! ONE DOG FAMILY AT A TIME Boarding and Doggie Day Care: It will only be your dog(s) and our one dog staying at our house. We have a secure, fenced yard, a doggie door, and a covered back patio with doggie beds perfect for lounging in the sun or shade. Our friendly bull terrier, Lucy, will happily keep your dog company! We can easily keep your dog in a separate room while we are away from the house if you prefer. Lucy’s dad/my significant other, Pedro, also lives here and also loves animals.

Kelly was amazing at taking care of our Pebbles! Our pup was so happy to spend so much time playing in her backyard and got along so well with her golden. We really appreciated the daily updates and photos where we got to see what Pebbles was up to, whether having fun or taking a nap. When Pebbles came back home she slept the rest of the day until early morning, that’s how much fun she had while we were away!

This was our second stay with Jordan, and I realized I never left a review after the first one. However, I definitely should have! As a first time Rover user, in fact the first time ever leaving my 9-year old pup with a stranger, I was incredibly nervous about leaving my dog with someone new. Jordan completely exceeded my expectations. He sent thoughtful updates throughout the stay with a plethora of photos, which gave me so much peace of mind, and it was obvious that my dog was being loved and well cared for. Not only is Jordan amazing, but his family is so kind and welcoming. You can truly tell they care about the dogs they watch and treat them like part of the family. Knowing my pup was safe, happy, and surrounded by so much love made all the difference. I can't thank Jordan enough for taking such great care of my dog, Lily. If you're looking for someone trustworthy, caring, and communicative, I highly recommend booking with him. We'll definitely be back!

Robert was great! My dogs were tired and happy when picked up. Robert sent updates with photos and confirmed meal times. I had some things pop up that made my drop off/pick up time different than originally planned and Robert was very accommodating and easy to coordinate with. I'll use Robert again next time I'm in the Wilmington/CB area!

I'd highly recommend Kim based on our experience with her watching our Ella. We received daily updates and pictures from her and sincerely feel that Ella was treated royally while staying with Kim. So much so they it seemed like Ella was depressed for awhile when she came back home. We attributed that to the kind attention she received.

Bonnie is by far the best sitter I could have ever asked for! She is such a kind soul that truly loves animals. Her pup Terra was so great with our puppy - they are besties now! Bonnie sent multiple photos and videos every day... I didn't have any of the worry or anxiety I normally do going on vacation. She took them on walks, to the beach, and hikes through the woods. And most importantly, I know she gave our pup ALL the snuggles and affection! 1,000% recommend Bonnie :)

I have never left my dog with anyone other than friends before, so I was really nervous. I brought Finn to Helena's to meet before our vacation, and he took to her immediately. She sent me photos of him every day we were gone, and it made me so happy to see how much they were enjoying each other! He had so much fun that he barely got excited to see me when I picked him up! LOL! Is there a better compliment from a dog? Helena is fabulous and we will be using her again!!!!

Kate was very friendly and we did a meet and greet ahead of our actual trip to meet her and also see how our dog got along with Lucy, Kate's dog. She also had last minute availability for Thanksgiving weekend, since I made our plans last minute. She sent lots of pictures so we could see that Maddie was doing fine and interacting with Lucy. Would definitely recommend her!

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
