Kim is absolutely wonderful! She took such great care of my pup while we were on vacation. It was such a relief to know that my little girl was walked daily and got interaction with Kim’s children. Kim sent pictures everyday of Lexi and she always looked so happy in each picture. I appreciate Kim’s attention and great care of Lexi so much and I know Lexi is looking forward to another vacation with her!

I could not have picked a better couple to take care of my best friend! They were not only loving and playful with Parks, they truly cared about what I mentioned to be her wants and needs. I have only traveled without her a handful of times (3 times at 16 years old is not an exaggeration). Donna made her comfortable, safe and loved. She cared for her knowing being apart was difficult for both of us. I would definitely use them again. I am even thinking of day care a few times a week, since she liked the interaction with other dogs to play with as she had 2 labs and another chihuahua that all past over10 years ago. I never considered how lonely she might be, because she never leaves my side!

About: I have experience caring for both dogs and cats of all ages, sizes, and personalities! I’ve looked after multiple pets for friends, family, and clients; providing walks, feeding, playtime, and lots of attention and affection. I also have a cat of my own, so I understand the importance of providing patient, attentive care and making pets feel safe and comfortable. In addition, I previously worked at a dog park, where I gained hands-on experience reading canine body language, understanding dog behavior, and safely managing interactions between dogs of different temperaments. This experience has taught me how to recognize stress signals, prevent conflicts, and ensure every pet has a positive, safe experience! Im currently working part-time, so my schedule is flexible enough to accommodate your pet’s needs throughout the week/weekend! I work from 9am to 5pm 3 to 4 times a week, but my schedule can be adjusted depending on you and your pets needs! When caring for pets, my priority is making them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while maintaining their normal routine. In a client’s home, I follow all care instructions closely, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medications (if needed), and any household rules. I make sure pets receive plenty of attention, exercise, and affection, while also keeping the home clean and secure. When caring for pets in my apartment, I ensure the client knows I have a cat of my own, who loves dogs and enjoys the company of having another furry friend around the house! I also live in a very walkable part of town, so walks will not be an issue, as well as a dog park only a few steps from my apartment!

This was the first time having to leave my dog with a sitter so I was apprehensive but didn’t have a choice. Sarah was fantastic! She would provide updates and send pictures. I thought my dog adopted a new family and wouldn’t want to come home (thankfully he did)! I would certainly go back to Sarah if I needed dog sitting services again!

Haley and her sweet daughter entertained my puppy really well during a short stay. He was on the last two days of his neutering care and she still accepted the job. He was fine at pickup as well. I appreciated the frequent communication and photos. And Haley took the time to find an item at the grocery store that he might like since he was being a picky eater and reviewed it with me. I had peace of mind during my work retreat in knowing that my puppy was in great hands.

About: You can trust me to take excellent care of your pet! As well as owning my own pets most of my life (dogs, cats, ferret, bird, rabbits, etc.), I also have a Bachelor of Science degree in pre-veterinary medicine. I have pet-sat for several friends and clients, volunteered at shelters, worked at veterinary clinics, boarding facilities, and for a professional dog walking / cat sitting company. You can rest easy as your pet will be safe in my care. I follow directions well and get the details right! Why I love dog walking and sitting: I have been a dog lover since the day I was born. My first dog, Chief, helped raise me! Since then, I have owned a dog most of my life. Some have called me the "dog-whisperer". I have a pretty good perception of dogs and connect very easily with most. My last dog, Wendell, was a 150 lb. mastiff whom I adopted when he was 4.5 years old. He had never been socialized and was scared of most people, so in the six years we were together, I gained a lot of first-hand experience working through behavioral issues in a very large and strong breed. Our current dog is Lucy, a happy-go-lucky bull terrier who is deaf. She loves every living being! I’m also comfortable taking care of cats and other pets. My experience administering medication: I've given lots of oral meds and various ointments, eye drops, ear drops, etc. My schedule is pretty flexible. I’m typically available any day of the week and can do early mornings and late evenings if needed. Let me know your needs and I will do my best to accommodate! ONE DOG FAMILY AT A TIME Boarding and Doggie Day Care: It will only be your dog(s) and our one dog staying at our house. We have a secure, fenced yard, a doggie door, and a covered back patio with doggie beds perfect for lounging in the sun or shade. Our friendly bull terrier, Lucy, will happily keep your dog company! We can easily keep your dog in a separate room while we are away from the house if you prefer. Lucy’s dad/my significant other, Pedro, also lives here and also loves animals.

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Wrightsville Beach home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:

  • Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
