“Stephanie was fantastic!! Soooo communicative, flexible and sent photos of the pups everyday. They came back in such a better state of mind than when we have boarded them at traditional kennels. Will definitely be using her services again! 🐾”

“Jennifer and Matthew kept our Lab and Golden doodle for 3 nights and I'll have to say I could not have been happier with their stay. Jennifer was great about answering any questions or texts right away and sent a picture of how they were doing. I will definitely be booking with them again!”

“Amy was wonderful! She sent me updates everyday. My pup is high energy and can be a handful but Amy was able to make her feel like part of the family. In fact my pup almost didn't want to leave. We will definitely use her again!”

“Robert was great! My dogs were tired and happy when picked up. Robert sent updates with photos and confirmed meal times. I had some things pop up that made my drop off/pick up time different than originally planned and Robert was very accommodating and easy to coordinate with. I'll use Robert again next time I'm in the Wilmington/CB area!”

“Andrea was awesome. She sent me pictures of how Hoover was doing and was very flexible. He had a great time playing with her other dogs and her son too! He is very exhausted!!!”

“Taylor took great care of our 17 year old senior pup. She has an array of age-related needs, and he made sure she was comfortable, eating regularly, and getting outside...and all of those things are challenging for her at this point. I would highly recommend him!”

“Erin was a great sitter! She provided lots of updates and my cattle dog had lots of fun running around with her golden retriever in their huge fenced yard. Would definitely use Erin again in the future!”

About: I have several years of experience caring for dogs! My own dog inspired me to dive into behavior, body language, training, and overall canine care. I’ve also worked at a pet store, where I gained hands-on experience and expanded my knowledge around dogs. I’m trained and certified to provide nail trims, nail filing, and ear cleanings as well. I’m available for full-time pet sitting and dog walking throughout the week. My only regular work commitment is on Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, so I’m flexible around that schedule. If your pet is staying in my home, they’ll have access to a large, securely fenced backyard for safe outdoor time and play. I have one friendly dog who can be kept separate if needed. Your dog will sleep comfortably in my room, whether that’s in a crate, their own bed, or mine—whatever they’re most used to. If I’m caring for your pet in your home, I will treat your space with the utmost respect, keeping everything clean, organized, and just as you left it for your return.
“Angela did a great job of taking care of our dog! She kept us well informed of his activities and dogshe was playing with. She sent lot so pictures. I think our dog really enjoyed her backyard -- he doesn't have one at home.”

“Alexia was great and my girl, Sookie, had a great time! Communication was on point and frequent. It was clear my girl was comfortable with her family (including the fur babies) and I'd happily rebook.”

“Kim and her family are Bella’s favorite friends. When we got there, she jumped out of the car and ran to the front door. Kim keep us updated with lots of pictures of the love she is shown by the whole family. Kim is our go-to sitter! Thanks so much for keeping Bella, our minds were completely at ease!”

“If you are looking for a pet sitter for your fur baby, look no further. Melissa is a caring responsible pet owner and will care for your pet as if it is her own. She was very conscious of Josie’s routine and habits. I felt very comfortable leaving her with Melissa. I received pictures and updates everyday. Definitely will be using Melissa again to watch Josie.”

“Joan and Dean were awesome and our two dogs got along great with their dog Parker. We had our dogs stay with them for a few days while we went out of town and Joan sent pictures and updates every day which put our minds at ease. They are very nice people who clearly love pets and we will definitely use them in the future when we travel.”

“Stephanie did a great job with Tyson! It was so much less stressful than using a kennel! We could tell Tyson felt right at home, and we wouldn’t hesitate to book with Stephanie again! Thank you so much!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
