“Our dogs were well cared for and we felt so safe leaving them on our trip. Aunna was consistently communicating and sending photos of the pups. She is a wonderful sitter and we are grateful we found her.”

“Debra did a great job taking care of my pup. She sent some pictures and kept me up to date on how he was doing. He clearly liked her. If your looking for a wonderful sitter, Debra is it!”

“Kimberly is an absolute saint and a dog whisperer! I will never leave my fur babies with anyone else. She graciously took the time to have us over prior to the dogs’ stay to get to know her and her house. One of my dogs is not always great with others but she was quick to understand her behavior and reassured us of her capability to handle any issues. I received photos almost everyday as well as updates. One of my dogs has some ear issues and they started acting up while they were in her care and Kimberly was quick to double check on the ear drops we left just in case. I cannot say enough wonderful things!”

“I've been sitting dogs and doing dog walks for years and Ilana was everything we could have hoped for. She was kind enough to provide dog food for our pup Sylvia since we forget hers at home and her dog Tony was wonderful and playful. She was communicative before our stay and quick to respond. I can't recommend her more highly!”
“Amy was a wonderful dog sitter! I was so sad dropping the dogs off because we don’t normally leave them, but she kept us regularly updated and they seemed to have had a great time!”

“Excellent!!! Very accomadating for any special needs of the customer and your pet. Oliver was well taken care of and given lots of love and attention. We will definitely have Oliver stay with this couple again when the need arrives.”

“They took great care of Ellie and she seemed to enjoy her time there - Ellie is nervous around other dogs but she seems to have adjusted very well - thank you so much for taking care of her - and I am sure she was a hit with the neighbors as she loves peopke”

“Laura took great care of our high energy pup! He got along well with her pet and got in some great walks too. Great communication as well. We hope to use them again in the future. 5 stars!!”

“Christy was amazing! Her home is welcoming and set up for pups. She had a couple other dogs when I took Kelso, and she was great with identifying the personalities and handling their needs. I have an older dog and she went out of her way and put mats down on the hardwood floors when his legs were tired. She kept me informed with messages and pictures the entire visit. It was an exceptional experience for the Kelso and me!”

“Janet responded to us quickly and was happy to care for our 2 dogs over the weekend. She has a great property for the dogs to run and dig. She sent us pictures of them living their best lives while we were gone. We will be reaching out to Janet the next time we travel.”

“Janice is the best! She takes wonderful care of our 2 year old golden retriever. Georgia is always so happy to see Janice which makes me happy knowing she’s in good hands.”

“Craig cared for my black standard poodle, Amelia, for two weeks. He took excellent care of her. I know this because the photos that he sent of her showed that she was completely relaxed and comfortable in his care. His communication with me before an during her boarding were wonderful. He kept me informed on how she was doing. I highly recommend Craig and will use him again to board Amelia.”

“Lori and her husband have been fantastic. Our first time allowing someone to keep our Bully. She has kept me up to date with text messages, pictures and videos. Already set up more boarding with her in the future”
“Jorie is wonderful! We have used her services multiple times and couldn’t be happier! You can really tell she loves dogs. She is excellent at providing text and picture updates to give you peace of mind while you are away on a trip. Finley had a great time visiting and playing with her pup Bailey. This last time he was so excited to visit he was pulling on the leash to get inside Jorie’s house. I think that shows you that Finley loves it there. (I can tell you that he sure doesn’t do that when we go to the groomer… lol). I Definitely recommend Jorie to care for your furry family member.”

“Stevie had such a a good time with Kelly. She sent us pictures every day, took Stevie for long walks, gave him his antibiotics and made sure he's entertained. Kelly is very good about communicating and answering questions. I highly recommend Kelly!”

“This was our first time using Rover or a dog sitter. We were a little nervous, but Judy was great with our two dogs. She sent me pictures and answered my texts immediately. Would definitely recommend!!”

About: I have cared for dogs, cats, horses and other farm animals. I have rescued multiple dogs and provide a loving home. I have had two lab puppies, one in which I have now. I grew up riding horses and spending my days at a barn caring for animals. I’m a special education teacher now who is looking for extra work when on breaks. I’m a special education teacher and a mom. I can also feed, water and provide play time. I have a fenced in yard with a doggie door in my home. My dogs are free around my house. I can also go to your home.

Atina was amazing! Aspyn, our 15w/o Mini Aussie is a ball of energy and needs lots of attention, so I had several questions and requests before booking. Atina delivered perfectly! I loved that Aspyn received one-on-one attention, playtime, daily walks, and socialization with her senior dogs while still sticking to her normal routine as much as possible. She accommodated everything I needed, and offered more, which I appreciated so much. From the moment I arrived and saw the setup she created for her “clients”, it was obvious she has truly found her calling and goes above and beyond for every fur baby in her care. The regular pictures and updates made being away so much easier. Aspyn will continue to go on vacation with us, but stay 15 minutes away with Atina. I highly recommend Atina for dogs of any age! Everyone needs a little Atina in their life!💜🐶✌🏼

My cat had a wonderful time, there for over a week due to a funeral out of state. Lovely place to stay, lots to look at from the back screened porch, any cat would have lots to do. Grateful she could take her for a longer trip, not many places will take cats. Brought all of her many things like scratch box so she could get her energy out on that rather than inappropriate areas. Would book again in a heartbeat.

Jeanne was a fantastic sitter for our gentle giant! Great communication, smooth drop off at her place and convenient delivery to our beach rental after daycare. I would 100% recommend to anyone vacationing and looking for a reliable dog sitter/board/etc! We only needed a single daytime daycare while waiting for our check in later in the afternoon. Jeanne taking care of our dog let us enjoy the beach with the kids while we waited. Will definitely work with her again! We come every summer and it’s so nice to know someone in the area.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
