“Best experience through Rover app! Amanda was amazing with my honey! Provided frequent updates throughout the day with pictures and videos. Honey played well with the other dogs with their home. I really love that my dog got to be in such a loving and warm environment while I was away over the weekend. Will definitely use Amanda again in the future for pet sitting services.”

“Stella took great care of my girls (a Boston terrier and a “Velcro” Dalmatian) for a week. It was a last minute booking and she communicated so promptly and professionally. She even offered a meet and greet which made me feel even more comfortable leaving our fur babies with her. Stella had a great yard for them to play in, and updated us with pictures and videos nearly everyday! I would highly recommend her services to anyone looking for a sitter that they can trust and feel like their babies were made feel right at home! Thank you Stella!”

“Ilana watches my dog Ruby almost every week and does a great job of making her feel comfortable and keeping her occupied while I’m away! Every time I pick up Ruby she’s always exhausted from her day of playing and hanging out with Ilana as well as her dog Tony. I love when Ruby gets to spend time with other dogs since she doesn’t get to much at home and I know it makes her happy. I definitely recommend letting your dog stay with Ilana!!”

“Craig was great!!! Quick responses, easy drop off and pick up, and sent us regular pupdates while we were on vacation 😊 Thank you so much again, and we'll be in touch next time we're going out of town!!”

“I really enjoyed the service I received from Lisa. The flexibility she offers and the love for my dog was amazing. I was worried free when I left her. I know Chanel enjoyed herself with Maddie because when she came home she was pooped out and went straight to bed.....lol I am so glad she has a playmate and a warm and safe place to go to when we go out of town. We will definitely be seeing her and her lovely family again. Thank you guys so much!”

“Sandi provided a very welcome and comforting home for our 12.5 yr old Golden Retriever during a recent stay in the Myrtle Beach Area over New Years. Sandi provided updates and pictures on how things were going but most of all she provided great care for her and it was a welcomed relief knowing where she was and how she was doing. We will definitely use Sandi again should we need to bring our dog along for a trip to this area.”

Absolutely couldn’t have asked for a better sitter! So accommodating and helped when things didn’t go as planned!! Have now recommended her to my parents & she will absolutely be my new go to sitter! Meadow was beyond happy and she kept in touch with pictures to keep my anxiety down!! Thank you Katelyn & family! You are an angel!!
Atina is nothing short of amazing! She took care of my two dogs, one of which is a senior chiweenie with heart and skin conditions. My dogs were so loved and cared for and I was completely at ease. She was also very accommodating with my schedule for drop off and pick up. I will absolutely book with Atina again!

My cat had a wonderful time, there for over a week due to a funeral out of state. Lovely place to stay, lots to look at from the back screened porch, any cat would have lots to do. Grateful she could take her for a longer trip, not many places will take cats. Brought all of her many things like scratch box so she could get her energy out on that rather than inappropriate areas. Would book again in a heartbeat.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
