“They took great care of our little Letti. We got pictures of our pup without even asking. She was allowed to share the furniture and got to snuggle in bed at night.”

“Jorie is wonderful! We have used her services multiple times and couldn’t be happier! You can really tell she loves dogs. She is excellent at providing text and picture updates to give you peace of mind while you are away on a trip. Finley had a great time visiting and playing with her pup Bailey. This last time he was so excited to visit he was pulling on the leash to get inside Jorie’s house. I think that shows you that Finley loves it there. (I can tell you that he sure doesn’t do that when we go to the groomer… lol). I Definitely recommend Jorie to care for your furry family member.”

“We had a fantastic experience with Jeffrey! Our Birdie had a great time. She had lots of walks, play time, and snuggles. We appreciated the updates and pictures while we were away! Many thanks to Jeffrey and his family for the great care for our pup!”

“Very kind and took very good care of my puppy communication was very easy and they were very understanding of traffic and time delays for drop off and pick up will 100% be booking with them again”

“Oceana was so great!! She took great care of Ralphie and provided us with updates/photos. We truly appreciated her flexibility with our schedule and I would definitely request for her again if I’m back in the area. Thanks again Oceana for the excellent experience!”

“Mary was a wonderful pet sitter for our new cat while we went away for a few days. As soon a I dropped our cat off I could tell that Mary was an animal lover and she would be in great hands while we were away. Not only did Mary give our baby meds while she was recovering from being spayed, but she kept us updated with sweet pics of our girl that relieved our anxiety while we were traveling. We cannot thank Mary enough for the amazing care she provided to our girl Shadow and highly recommend her to anyone looking for amazing pet care!”

“Karla was great to work with and my dog Tucker seemed very happy. The communication was easy and Karla sent plenty of pictures to keep me up to date with how Tucker was doing. I recommend her!”

“I just want to give a huge SHOUTOUT to Meredith!!!! I cant brag on her enough!! We booked a last minute trip to myrtle beach and needed to find a last minute sitter for Phoebe. Without hesitation Meredith accepted and took a huge weight off our shoulders. She treated our girl with so much care and gentleness. “Christina did it again! My Bella gets the best care when I’m out of town. I get frequent updates and pics. I don’t have to worry about whether or not she’s being taken care of. Thank you Christina, for taking such good care of my baby!”

“Carina was great! She sent me picture updates without me asking, and took great care of my dog. She worked with me to pick my dog up a little earlier than scheduled without any issue. Would definitely use her again!”

“Holly was wonderful! We had a nice meet and greet prior to our reservation that made us and our dog more comfortable for her upcoming stay. Holly's yard and home was well segregated to easily accommodate a few dogs for proper introductions and ready them for spending time together. Tallulah looked relaxed and having fun in all the pictures Holly sent us. I would highly recommend her.”

“Jenny is the best she came through last minute when our travel plans changed unexpectedly and was like Mary Poppins to my very large, very spoiled kids .... She did wonderful with my Old sometimes grumpy Husky (she even got my Gracie to behave at the dog park which is no small feat) and had no problems sharing her personal space cuddling with Snot. We got updates and I felt that my babies were in good hands... We will definitely use Jenny again and would recommend her for Large dog and Husky parents!!!”
“Gilbert is the man. Very accommodating, extremely friendly. And bonus points for being easily accessible by T. Gilbert sent tons of pictures during Oscar's stay, and Oscar seemed to get along great with Gilbert's sweet little pittie. Oscar came home exhausted, which is always a good sign. I would use Gilbert again in a heartbeat. Thanks!”

“Miss carley is the best. She watch my dog honey. Honey is a senior dog with some special needs medicine. Miss carley has so much love and compassion for aminals. “Laura took wonderful care of our 9 month old havanese puppy for 2 weeks. 1st time we’ve left a family pet with someone we didn’t know. We could not be happier. She sent us daily pictures and updates. We were a little concerned she wouldn’t want to come home. Laura understood that leaving our fur baby was stressful and went out of her way to decrease our stress. I would have no reservations using her again and would highly recommend to others seeking reliable, compassionate dog lover.”

“Khirah was so great I would 100% recommend to anyone that needs to leave their pet with someone while they are away. Sends pictures and video updates every day and is very friendly and treats your dog like her own.”

“Madison was fantastic in caring for our dog while we were away for the weekend. She was very flexible and responsible to our time frame. She also has a nice home with a fenced in yard! We'd highly recommend!”

“As with each of the previous stays, Jack comes home without anxiety and as if he hasn't been away from home. My peace of mind while Jack is with Laura is the reason I can enjoy my vacations or time away. Laura always send pics and keeps me posted. Jack loves her and I think he thinks of her as his surrogate Mom. I have used Laura numerous times and will continue to do so.”

This was our dog's second stay, and once again we had a wonderful experience. Our dog was happy, healthy, and well cared for when we picked her up. We really appreciated the updates and photos throughout her stay, which gave us peace of mind. They are such a kind, caring family, and we wouldn't hesitate to book with them again. Highly recommend!

Superior service from Susan and David. Very punctual and took great care of Beau and Bella. 10 stars! I'll definitely call on Susan when I have to be away again. Absolutely the best service & no regrets. I'm so glad my dogs got to stay in their own home with great care!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in SC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
