“This is the second time Amanda has taken care of our dogs and both times I was delighted with the job she did. This time we added a puppy to the mix, a very high-maintenance puppy at that and she handled them with skill and a clearly experienced hand. And didn’t complain at all about the puppy. She also kept us updated with pictures and a video or two and let us know what the dogs were up to. I’m never happy to be away from my pups, but if I must be, I’m glad to have someone like Amanda to take care of them.”

“Jody turned out to be the perfect pet sitter for our Maisy! She sent us updates and pictures every day and took her to the dog park to make sure she enjoyed her stay! We had great peace of mind leaving her with Jody and would not hesitate to rebook with her.”

“We loved Donna! Communication was great and I loved receiving photos and videos each day of my dog and what they did. Would definitely recommend her and use her again! I know my dog had a great time in her care ☺️”

“Asher can be apprehensive when it comes to meeting new people and fur friends, but he was instantly comfortable with Cyrus. You can easily tell how knowledgeable about animals Cyrus is and how much he loves being around them by the way he talks. We especially felt comfortable knowing that his house is animal friendly, safe and spacious for our fur babies to roam. 10/10 would recommend.”

“The absolute best! From the moment we met her, I felt completely comfortable leaving Billie in her care. She is incredibly personable, caring, and attentive. Billie came home happy, exhausted from all the fun, and clearly showered with love and attention. She also had a great time playing with her adorable pup! We couldn’t be happier with the experience and can’t wait to book again. Highly recommend!”

“Family friendly home. Fenced yard and clean. My girls were taken great care of, and I was updated through my vacation. I would recommend Amy and will be booking again.”

“Our dog, Lady, seemed to love staying there at Caitlin's. Her tail would wag at the door each time when we brought her back from the beach. We couldn't keep her at the condo we rented for our vacation so we are glad we found a great sitter.”

“We couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter! From the moment we met Kelly it was clear how much she genuinely cares about animals. She kept us updated with photos and messages throughout our trip, which gave us so much peace of mind. Our dog, Luca, was happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for when we returned. Kelly went above and beyond in giving 2 medications to Luca and worrying about a cone for a paw infection! We would absolutely use Kelly again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for exceptional pet care!”

“Lauren did a great job babysitting our 10 year old dog Cotton. Cotton got along well with her 2 dogs and seemed happy and content when we picked him up. Lauren was very easy to work with, scheduling drop-off and pick-up at times convenient for us. We will definitely book Lauren again on our next trip away.”

“It's been said that, "you'll know if you have the right candidate for the job within the first 30 seconds of meeting them." Well that's how it was for us during the meet and greet. We immediately connected with David and his wife and our dog Kai immediately connected with their dog Navy. (During the entire time we spent together Navy and Kai had a great time playing with each other.) We were a little concerned about Kai having some digestive issues and at drop off we went over Kai's issues and kibble changeover. David kept in touch with us to let us know how Kai was progressing and the results were very pleasing. Our communication process reaffirmed what we knew with the first 30 seconds of meeting them.”

“Christina did it again! My Bella gets the best care when I’m out of town. I get frequent updates and pics. I don’t have to worry about whether or not she’s being taken care of. Thank you Christina, for taking such good care of my baby!”

About: I have taken care of animals my whole life. I have 2 dogs and one cat, if it’s not them I’m watching, it’s my friends animals!!! I have a love and passion for helping animals. I’m currently working part time at smoothie king, I should be able to fit pet care right into my schedule with no issues!!! Going into summer I will have even more free time. I would prefer watching the animals at my clients home, however I have 2 friendly dogs, and a friendly cat! We have a big (fenced) backyard with lots of room for playing.

“Trina is the ABSOLUTE BEST dog sitter we could have ever found! She took such good and loving care of our Maltipoo, Sadie. She constantly sent us updates and pictures Sadie. With Trina having a fenced in backyard, Sadie was able to run around and play with Trina’s other pets. It was obvious Sadie was so happy and at peace being watched by Trina. We will most definitely use her services again!!”

“Khirah was an amazing dog sitter to our two pups. She was responsive from start to finish, kept us updated on how they were doing and sent us pics once or twice a day. We were so happy with our experience and would definitely ask Khirah to watch our dogs again. 10/10 would recommend!”

“Sarah was so kind to help us in a last minute request so we could all attend our son’s graduation! Many, many thanks and our goldens were just as happy when we picked them up as they were when we dropped them off!”

“I had to leave a review for Elvera. She was very professional and I can tell my Champ really enjoyed his time with her and her kids. I was gone for 10 days and as soon as I met her and her daughter I knew my dog was in safe hands. I did not get a chance to meet her son but I am sure Champ was all over him. I will definitely use her in the future.”

“We left our fur baby with Lori and would do it all over again! This is the first time in 9 year that my dog went back to give love after our trip. We appreciate them so much for taking care of our baby!”

Liz is a wonderful dog sitter, she was so warm and welcoming to Maizy. This was Maizys first time away from home and I was worried but Liz took all my worries away with her warmth and caring. Maizy felt right at home and it is such a beautiful home that I think she wanted to stay longer. Highly recommend Liz for all your dog sitting needs!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in SC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
