Information Jenn H. would like to know about your pet

Feeding schedule, daily routine, walking or potty schedule, fears, favorites, bedtime... anything that will make your pup happier during his/her stay-cation. Is he terrified of thunder? Does she chase the mailman or go bananas when the doorbell rings? I want to provide enrichment and positive stimulation without trauma. My goal is to present you with a tired but happy pup upon your return- and one who will get excited for his/her next time at sleepaway camp. I like all dogs but I prefer to schedule either dogs from same home or similar sizes and breeds that meet in advance when scheduled for overnights in my home. My HOA has breed and size requirements so I only board small dogs 35 pounds and under but I can housesit for larger dogs. I request Meet & Greets for all services to make sure that dogs are comfortable with me and their surroundings. Boarding can be a fun experience for a dog if approached correctly, and the dog’s comfort must be first priority. Exceptions for meet & greet on a case-by-case basis, as I know this is a tourist town and sometimes immediate needs arise unexpectedly. I do not free feed in the household to avoid any chance of food aggression so if you have a grazer, be advised that they will be required to maintain an eating schedule during their stay.

A typical day

I’m a dog in human’s clothing. We go on lots of sensory walks in the neighborhood and shaded backyard. We roughhouse, play fetch, tug of war, snuggle- whatever your pup likes to do. snuggle with smaller or older dogs and spend all day and night with them. Dogs are very rarely ever left unattended. Someone is always at home and there are no children in the home. In the last thirty-seven years ( since I was eight) I have only been without a dog as a companion for a total of eleven months and this was after my beloved Jack-Rat, Fritz passed in 2013. I swore I wasn’t going to have another dog for awhile and the fates introduced me to my soul dog. You know the one. The One. The really special one. They’re all special and amazing but once in your life, if you’re lucky, you find the dog who speaks exactly the same language as you. And after a lifetime of Shelties, Westies, Chows, Labs, Bernese, Shepherds, Cockers and Terriers- my soul dog is a nine pound chihuahua... but her personality is huge. She’s nothing like they’re supposed to be (except small and adorable): she loves kids, people, dogs and cats (she ADORES cats). She likes the water, she only shakes if she’s actually cold, she’s not yappy and she’s well-socialized. She’s a senior, spayed and current on her vaccinations. She meets all clients outside during meet & greets and is happy to show her new friends her home. We also have good boy named Cody and he is a 10-pound Chiweenie and he loves people and wants to love other dogs but he takes a minute to approach them because he’s still fairly shy of other animals. He warms up quickly and is definitely the beta in our pack.

Pet care experience

Mine is a smoke and child-free home in Murrells Inlet. I spend loads of time outdoors- on the beach and at the marsh walk with my own dogs and would love to have your pups join us. I have experience boarding dogs overnight in a home environment and have cared for dogs up to two months at a time. I am not a kennel. I have a home environment that is pet-centered, meaning pets are allowed in all areas of the home and on furniture. We live a mile from Huntington Beach State Park and have an annual pass, so we walk the beach frequently.

Thank you to Jenn for your remarkable service. I was in need of a local Rover after evacuating from Florida with my dog before the recent hurricane. Jenn was able to step right in and agree to boarding. She provided a caring and fun experience, including some amazing pics. My dog came back playful and happy. I would definitely rebook and highly recommend Jenn!
