“Lara took wonderful care of our little Teddy! He got plenty of attention and loving from her and her sweet children. I appreciated that she sent pictures and texts to let me know that he was adjusting and doing well!”

“Absolutely fantastic service, can't say enough good things about Jodi and her boarding services! She went above and beyond to make my pup comfortable as well as sending me regular photos of her playing to put me at ease. Thank you Jodi, for sure highly recommend and will use her services again and again!”

“I had a last minute reservation since the woman I normally use was unable to watch my pup. Sandi was prompt & more than willing to watch my dog. She was very flexible & a joy to work with. My dog had a great time & all worked out perfectly.”

“Our girl Weezie was well taken care of!! She loved being with Alecia & Richard as well as their pups! Kept us updated with pictures and messages every day! Will definitely use them again 🩷”

“Maria is great!!! We have never left our 1 1/2 yr old dog with anyone before..I have so much trust and confidence in Maria I will never hesitate leaving our dog Tucker with her and Dante. Tucker greeted me at the door with his tail wagging and with Dante's tennis ball in his mouth, obviously having a great time...Soooo happy we now have Maria to take care of Tucker when we are out of town. Janet & Bob”

“Lisa was amazing to work with! I planned to bring my dog with me last minute and she was able to accommodate Myles’ stay. He got plenty of love, walks and playtime and Lisa kept me updated along the way so I could fully enjoy my vacation. If back in the area I will certainly book with Lisa again. Myles’ was sad to leave her!”

“If I had more than five stars I would gladly give Melissa more! This was our first time using Rover and our Lizzy’s first time overnight for a whole week with a stranger. Melissa was amazing from the start. Made sure Lizzy (and we) were comfortable there. She provided me with regular updates and pictures all week. She has a few sweet little dogs of her own and they became fast friends with Lizzy. She gave Lizzy free rein of her home, took her for walks and gave her lots and lots and lots of love!! I would hire Melissa again in a heartbeat!”

“I’d give 10 stars if I could! Debra is a lovely person, she’s very kind to animals, you can tell she really loves the dogs she’s sitting. Extremely easy to communicate with both before booking and while she’s sitting. I am the happiest I’ve ever been with any dog sitter, and my dog loved his time with her. Highly recommend!”

“Lisa was great with Wilson! It was the first time we left him overnight somewhere and we are so happy with how it went. Lisa was extremely flexible on pick up and drop off time which worked great for us. She sent us a picture of Wilson during his stay. He had a great time with Lisa and her kids. I would definitely recommend Lisa!”

“Nicole was the perfect sitter for our clingy boy, Boone. I was so worried that while on vacation my dog ( who has seizures & high anxiety) would be upset & worried the entire trip. Fortunately we found Nicole on Rover & my family was able to enjoy some carefree time away exploring the Grand stand while Boone was kept safe. Nicole sent me frequent updates and assured me everyday at 10am and 10pm that Boone had taken his medication ( without being asked to) She sent numerous pictures of Boone enjoying his leisure relaxing on the couch and going for walks. He looked so at home and cozy! On a regular basis I spend every moment of the day with Boone so letting go& trusting someone was difficult but I am so glad that I did & that we chose Nicole in particular. My dog was packed up, happy, and ready to go home with all his supplies neatly stored when I arrived to get him. He smelt fresh & clean. His tail was wagging. My husband & I joked he might not even want to go home with us anymore😂 Thank you so much for excellent care & treating our pet with such compassion!”

“Very kind and took very good care of my puppy communication was very easy and they were very understanding of traffic and time delays for drop off and pick up will 100% be booking with them again”

“Highly recommend Kyle, he was very communicative and took very good care of our dogs. Our dogs were happy and tired out by pick up time, we will definitely be booking again in the future!”

“Mary was a wonderful pet sitter for our new cat while we went away for a few days. As soon a I dropped our cat off I could tell that Mary was an animal lover and she would be in great hands while we were away. Not only did Mary give our baby meds while she was recovering from being spayed, but she kept us updated with sweet pics of our girl that relieved our anxiety while we were traveling. We cannot thank Mary enough for the amazing care she provided to our girl Shadow and highly recommend her to anyone looking for amazing pet care!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - North Myrtle Beach
We live in KY and we’re vacationing at a condo in Cherry Grove that doesn’t allow pets. Kimberly kept our sweet Bailey Boy for 10 days and took such good care of him. He got to meet many new friends from her doggy daycare dogs and the resident dog, Diesel. We would definitely book her again as the need arises.

Trina is an absolute gem! First time our pups have been with someone other than family or friends, and to say I was nervous is an understatement. Lily and Divot settled in just fine! Trina was consistent with sending updates, and pictures of the pups. Lily was very well taken care of and gave lots of snuggles to Trina! Divot enjoyed playing in the yard and with Lily. Would highly recommend and we will definitely use her again!! Lily and Divot both adored her!!
Christy was absolutely phenomenal. My dogs were treated like her own. She communicated with me often, she sent wonderful videos and pictures- could not have asked for a better person to watch after my two goldens. One of my dogs got sick/injured right before she was supposed to watch them. She monitored him closely, gave him meds, loved on him, and even called the vet to get clarity on medicines. Christy is a GEM!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in SC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
