“Mia was amazing with my anxious dog Reya! She was very communicative, took great care of her, and sent me lots of pictures and videos throughout her stay. Would recommend Mia to anyone!”

“Lara was great!! Moxie seemed to warm right up to her and her family. She kept me updated with pics and video. I will definitely be contacting her in the future for any doggy sleepover needs!!! Thanks again Lara!!!!”

“Andrew was great with communicating, ensured Rupert was safe and comfortable, and got lots of walks! He also sent update photos so I knew Rupert was enjoying himself and administered Rupert’s daily medications without a hitch! 10/10 would recommend!”

“Scout our Australian Shepard/English Setter who is 1 1/2 yrs old had a Great time with Steven, Brittany and family. He also enjoyed the companion of the other dog being Boarded there this weekend. They followed the routine we use at home as far as staying off furniture unless on my lap and giving him his blanket and chewey toy and a milkbone after his last potty break for the night. He enjoyed the walks and all the attention he recieved. We loved the pictures and updates each day we were gone. I have all ready booked another visit in Oct. when we have to travel to PA. This is a Great Rover.com family boarding home.”

“Carey was the absolute best dog sitter I could ever ask for!! She was so so helpful and patient and made me feel so at ease taking care of my high-energy German Shepherd, Lady. It’s always a bit nerve-racking to leave your dog with someone new, and especially so when your dog is a handful like my Lady! But Carey truly went above and beyond my expectations, and even when Lady had some frustrating anxiety issues, Carey took care of it without complaint, which seriously meant the world to me. She also sent me lots of photos every day and kept me super updated!! Book Carey for your next dog sitter and you will be so glad you did!!”

“Kimberly and her family took amazing care of my little old pup. Gave him love and snuggles sent updated photos to us the whole time we were away. What an incredible experience. We will absolutely be using Kimberly as our sitter again!”

“Jennifer was wonderful from the moment we reached out to see if she was available to watch Clark. She responded quickly, took the time to ask about his care needs, and genuinely wanted to know how she could best support him during his stay. From the very beginning, she gave us confidence that he would be in excellent hands. When we dropped Clark off, Jennifer was warm, welcoming, and made sure we felt completely at ease. She kept her promise by sending regular updates and photos throughout his stay, which gave us tremendous peace of mind. It was clear that she treated Clark like one of her own and made him feel right at home. Jennifer truly followed through on everything she said she would do, and we could tell Clark had a wonderful time with her. We highly recommend Jennifer to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and dependable sitter who communicates exceptionally well and provides outstanding care.”

“This was our first time using Rover for our two pups. Danielle made us feel comfortable leaving the boys for a full nine days and even administered daily medication our dog's ear infection. Thanks for everything!”

“Jennifer was wonderful keeping Cohen and Kelly. She provided regular updates both morning and at night to let me know how things were going. Would absolutely use her again.”

“I was impressed with Monica and Jeff and how they took care of my buddy Dudley! They are true dog people and it shows. My 5 year old maltipoo has only been watched by two people, neither of which can dog sit anymore. I am so glad I met them and even though it took Dudley a couple days to warm up, they won him over. He has only been without us on four occasions so he had some anxiety. They did a great job as I could tell when I picked him up he was friendly with them. Highly recommended!”

“Angie was so great!! We were first time boarders and she put our minds right at ease! She sent daily updates and pictures and took such good care of Charlie. Would highly recommend her!!”

“Rachel could not have been more caring. Oliver enjoy his time with Rachel and loved his playtime. She was so thoughtful to send pics and videos of her stay with Oliver.”

“Valeria was absolutely awesome with our fur baby! We could not have gotten a better sitter for Luna's first overnight away from home since being rescued! The yard was amazing and Valerie provided the very best of care for a very nervous pup!”

“Christina took such good care of our Biscuit!! We were nervous leaving our pup for the first time but Christina put us at ease. The pictures and updates meant so much. Thanks so much for going the extra mile for our baby!!!”

“Amazing caregiver for our sweet Oscar. He requires a lot of love and Jay was definitely up for the challenge. Great communication and flexibility. Definitely recommend!”

About: I’ve had animals since I was a kid and always enjoyed taking care of them! It’s very rewarding for me. In my early 20s I was a dog trainer I’m a stay at home dad. We have a 10 and a 5 year old. I take walks throughout the day and between my wife someone is always home unless we are taking the kids somewhere. If they like the car and the park I can even take them with me! I walk a lot and am outside with my kids throughout the day. My kids love dogs so they will be showered with love and cuddles (if they enjoy that).
“We left our German Shepherd with Mandy for a week. She is an anxious and a reactive dog who is unsure of strangers. Mandy managed her so well that when we picked her up, we haven’t seen any signs of stress. Mandy having a fenced back yard was also an excellent benefit that our dog got to go out as much as she wanted. She enjoyed the week away with Mandy. You can leave your pets under Mandy ‘s care without hesitation.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
