“Donna and Calvin were fantastic hosts! I knew my older Pomeranian was in great hands and I didn’t have to worry about him while I was away. Donna sent regular pictures and updates. He went on daily walks, and was given special attention with food because he doesn’t eat right away like other dogs. I highly recommend Donna and Calvin!”

“Abigail and her family have been amazing with my 2 girls! She is super communicative and made sure she knew everything about the girls before the start date. The girls always come home happy and tired, and Abigail always sends pictures of all the fun they have. Highly recommend!”

“Rachel could not have been more caring. Oliver enjoy his time with Rachel and loved his playtime. She was so thoughtful to send pics and videos of her stay with Oliver.”

“This was our first time with Tiffany and Chris. They took wonderful care of our senior Jack Russell Toby. They honored special requests like walks, which he looks forward to. I Loved the constant updates and photos. I am so grateful we found them and certainly hope Toby will be welcome to return should we need a sitter again. Thank you ?”

“I recently used Rebecca's services for my multipoo while we were away for a week. Rebecca said he did well even though he took over all her dogs toys and spot on the sofa! She's in a good location for walks and I would definitely use her again.”

“KenLynn is always wonderful to work with! She sent regular updates and photos, which gave me total peace of mind while I was away. She genuinely cares for animals and treats them like her own. If you’re looking for someone reliable, loving, and attentive, she is the perfect choice!”

“Beatrice was amazing! We had never left our Oliver for more than a few days so we were very nervous. Beatrice kept us updated and gave us peace of mind. Oliver played all day every day with her two dogs. We could not be happier with Beatrice and the entire experience. We will absolutely book her again.”

“Jennifer took such great care of our dog. She sent updates and made sure he was walked and snuggled. We have had her watch Ferris twice now and he is so happy when he sees her!”

“Amy was great with communication and sending pics! It was very clear the dogs were well cared for. I appreciated her flexibility in terms of timing. (As we were road tripping with young children it was hard to guess exact drop off and pick up times.) If we are in the area again we will definitely book with Amy again! Thank you!”

“This was our second stay with Jordan, and I realized I never left a review after the first one. However, I definitely should have! As a first time Rover user, in fact the first time ever leaving my 9-year old pup with a stranger, I was incredibly nervous about leaving my dog with someone new. Jordan completely exceeded my expectations. He sent thoughtful updates throughout the stay with a plethora of photos, which gave me so much peace of mind, and it was obvious that my dog was being loved and well cared for. Not only is Jordan amazing, but his family is so kind and welcoming. You can truly tell they care about the dogs they watch and treat them like part of the family. Knowing my pup was safe, happy, and surrounded by so much love made all the difference. I can't thank Jordan enough for taking such great care of my dog, Lily. If you're looking for someone trustworthy, caring, and communicative, I highly recommend booking with him. We'll definitely be back!”

“Andrew is an excellent dog sitter, highly recommended. He took great care to keep us informed with updates and photos of our dog. He was understanding of flight delays and plans changing to make for a stress free vacation. Thank you!”

“Allie helped us out when we were in a pinch. So grateful for the peace of mind. Digi was able to stay cool while we were out in the heat. Thanks Allie! We will look ya up next time we are in the area.”

“Ann was excellent with our Xena puppy. I couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter! From the start, she was communicative and thorough with instructions on routine. Xena got to make so many friends at her pet, Ricky's b-day party while we were away. It was obvious Xena was not only well cared for, but genuinely happy and comfortable. I would absolutely trust her again and highly recommend her!”

“Sue-Ling was amazing with my pup. It was his first time ever being boarded away from me and she kept me updated on him and how he was doing. She was very attentive. I will be booking with her again!”

“Alex did a phenomenal job from drop off to pick up, he was super flexible and thorough. Our dog stayed with Alex over the weekend and we gave him a detailed list of our preferences. He went above and beyond by sending update photos of our dog multiple times during the day as well as sent us texts to keep us up to date. Just phenomenal! Thank you Alex.”

About: Our family has always had dogs growing up and we love our fur baby. He is a retired working dog with the best manners and very friendly with small and big dogs. We will take care of your dogs like they’re ours because that’s how we would want someone to watch out dog! I have experience with military working dogs, police dogs, and pet dogs. I have been in the position to handle as well as train all types of dogs throughout my career as a handler. I work days and my wife usually works nights so someone can be with the dog at all hours with a possible laps but never anything over 4-6 hours. We are happy to send pictures and videos throughout your pets. Good sized fenced in yard, and glass door for ease of supervision, house is only one story so no stairs for pups or older dogs.
“Catrina took excellent care of my medically complex pup for an extended period of time. I couldn't be more grateful for the care, love, and attention she provided my dog while juggling her own family of pets! She kept me updated on how she was doing and sent me photos and videos regularly throughout her stay. Catrina was a godsend and I wouldn't hesitate to use her services again in the future! ❤️”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
