“Sarah stepped in to take last minute care of my foster dogs even though it was a big ask. They were comfortable, had fun, and she continued their "how to be a good dog in a new home" training, and they came back happy and relaxed! :)”

“Oakley enjoyed staying with Kenzie!! They were very flexible with us concerning drop off and pick up times. Would definitely board with them again! It's always hard to leave your dog, but we felt good leaving her with Kenzie. A very positive experience all around.”

“Samantha and Christopher were absolutely amazing with my two GSDs! They took such wonderful care of them, and it gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. Every picture they sent showed both of my dogs looking happy, relaxed, and well cared for, which meant the world to me. My dogs have separation anxiety, so leaving them is never easy, but Samantha and Christopher made the entire experience so much less stressful. It was clear they were patient, attentive, and genuinely cared about making my pups feel safe and comfortable. I'm incredibly grateful for the love and care they gave my dogs. I wouldn't hesitate to book with them again, and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for trustworthy, compassionate sitters. Thank you both for taking such great care of my babies! ❤️”

About: Experienced with dogs and cats of all ages, I provide reliable, loving care, handle special needs, and keep pets comfortable while keeping owners updated and reassured. My contract job just ended so I have a lot of time available to care for your pups and kitties. I love getting out and walking. When I visit a clients home, I care for their pets like my own making sure they have a good walk if they're a dog freshwater and food and snuggles. With kitties I will happily utilize the enrichment toys you have.
About: Grew up in a household with 4 dogs, have pets of my own. Able to handle animals that need extra patience or have extra energy. I am available in early afternoon to evening with some flexibility for mornings. I work with the dog's family to find the best times for everyone involved. I keep as much peace of mind for the animals as possible, taking into account their exercise needs as well as comfort while their family is away.

About: I have multi-dog household experience. There has always been at least two dogs in my house growing up, they’re my favorite animals. I have a chocolate Labrador named Whiskey, and a Schnoodle named Max. My chihuahua sadly passed away. I love to meet and have other dogs in my house. I’m comfortable administering oral medication if needed. I’ll send daily photo updates. I’m a stay at home mom so there’s always time to care and play with our furry kids. I wake up between 6-8am and go to bed by 10pm. When I need to leave the house to run errands, I don’t take longer than 3 hours at a time, so I make sure my pets are taken outside for potty and water breaks. There is a fenced area in the back of our house, and a big open area. I can take them out on a leash if needed or crate them if they’re not house trained.
“Lanette was very responsive and was able to take my pup during last minute changes! Sydney came home tuckered out so I’m know she had a great and very active time with friends ☺️”

“Jordan is so great. Will continue to use her services when we go away. Our giant lab stayed with her twice now for a week and he gets the most love and beat care. She's a professional at this!”

“Maria was fantastic! She spent time to get to know Apollo before the appointment and asked all the necessary questions to make sure he was as comfortable as possible and she knew all his info and habits! Even when Apollo was restless and would not sleep being that it was his first time away from home, Maria stayed up with him on the couch so he was able to snooze. A great home and a warm pet owner I wouldn't think twice before leaving my little guy with Maria again”

About: I’ve taken care of answer for as long as I can remember, I grew up with big and small dogs. I used to volunteer and a veterinarian clinic near my home where I would help in the after care of animals once they got out of surgery and making sure their food cages was clean and the food and water was full. It’s not a secret that I’m a marine, but considering my job I have pretty flexible hours and will always put your animals health and wellbeing first. I stay in the barracks so we’re not allowed to have animals there, but if push comes to shove I can work with duty to see what I can do. If it’s in the clients home then I can provide better care and services for your pet.
“Zenita took amazing care of my German Shepherd! She always sent updates and pictures, & communicated frequently with me! I would recommend her to anyone and will definitely use her again when looking for dog boarding!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Tarawa Terrace
Abigail and her family have been amazing with my 2 girls! She is super communicative and made sure she knew everything about the girls before the start date. The girls always come home happy and tired, and Abigail always sends pictures of all the fun they have. Highly recommend!

Talia was amazing with my two dogs (a Labrador Retriever and a Shih Tzu)! From the very beginning, she was great at communicating and even arranged a meet-and-greet so everyone felt comfortable. This was actually my dogs first time being watched at someone else’s house, anytime we are out of town they are cared for at home our home with some friends watching them so I was a little nervous at first using Rover for the first time but Talia made the whole experience so easy and stress-free. She kept me updated throughout the week with pictures and messages, which was really great! My dogs had an absolute amazing time playing with her dog, and it was clear they felt right at home. You can really tell she loves and cares for the pets she watches. My Shih Tzu got sick during the stay and she personally made some rice and chicken to make sure she gets better which she didn’t have to do but that shows you what type of person Talia is!!

Danielle was wonderful. Great communicator, and made it easy for us to enjoy our vacation in Mexico while Molly our Boxer was with Danielle and her family having fun. It took the worry away for me, thank you so much. Danielle is awesome and will use her again if timing is right.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
