“Samantha is a very loving person and a true animal and especially dog lover! She took really good care of our dog Nugget, she followed all our instructions and she was sending us updates and photos everyday and two to three times per day, something that was such a relief for us. Her dogs became friends with our Nugget and they ended up sleeping all together! We are truly recommend Samantha and we will definetely choose her again in the future!”

About: Hello! I’m Brooke! I absolutely love dogs (& all animals really)! I have my own dog, Puck, who I love to take to the lake, on walks and cuddle with. I have been dog sitting for 10 years and I love it. I currently do travel healthcare and I’m looking for a job on the side with my boyfriend’s help too. I can do walks, home visits, overnight sitting in your home and anything else you’d need for your furry friend. I can work with you and your schedule to try to find the perfect time to help out you and your pet. I look forward to hearing from you soon! Don’t hesitate to ask any questions to see if I’m a good fit! I work full time during the week but am free most weekends. My boyfriend also helps out and is an early bird who can do drop ins before 7am and after 5 pm. I have a patio that the dogs can sun bath on and a huge h fenced yard to let the pups run around to get some energy out.
“Oakley enjoyed staying with Kenzie!! They were very flexible with us concerning drop off and pick up times. Would definitely board with them again! It's always hard to leave your dog, but we felt good leaving her with Kenzie. A very positive experience all around.”

“Reagan took very good care of our girls. She sent pictures and updates and responded pretty quickly when I asked about them. Her home is non smoking so I didn’t have to worry about taking them to the groomer right away. Would definitely have her dog sit for us again if she’ll have us. lol. Thank you Reagan!”

“Samantha and Christopher were absolutely amazing with my two GSDs! They took such wonderful care of them, and it gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. Every picture they sent showed both of my dogs looking happy, relaxed, and well cared for, which meant the world to me. My dogs have separation anxiety, so leaving them is never easy, but Samantha and Christopher made the entire experience so much less stressful. It was clear they were patient, attentive, and genuinely cared about making my pups feel safe and comfortable. I'm incredibly grateful for the love and care they gave my dogs. I wouldn't hesitate to book with them again, and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for trustworthy, compassionate sitters. Thank you both for taking such great care of my babies! ❤️”

“Rebecca was the sweetest to our girl Maple. She kept us updated so well and her sweet pup Lincoln welcomes maple into his home. We loved that Maple felt loved and comfortable with them. We hope maple and Lincoln will stay in contact!! We definitely will book with them again ❤️”

“Daniella took great care of our dog! They walked to the park several times a day and she sent us videos each day. We could definitely tell that our dog was comfortable in her care, we would recommend her!”

“I was very nervous leaving my dog for the first time in a new place. Brittany and Matt were great with Ghost, he can be a handful with his anxiety and they were patient and understanding. They sent updates and videos of him playing with their dog King. We will definitely use them in the future if we need a sitter.”

“Libby had a great time with Emily and her pups! She kept me updated with photos during the stay and Libby came home happy & worn out from her awesome weekend with some new friends ❤️”

“Last minute booking. Nice location with a fenced backyard. I received pictures and updates while gone, along with feedback. While Areli is not Carl’s primary sitter, I wouldn’t hesitate to use her services again. Thank you, ma’am.”

“Cynthia was absolutely amazing!! She kept me updated with so many photos and videos so I was able to enjoy my vacation while knowing my pups were taken care of. I 100% recommend her to everyone! Thank you so much again Cynthia!”

About: Hi! I’m Andrew. I grew up with dogs and now care for them through Rover because I genuinely miss having one around every day. I provide a safe, clean home with a fenced yard, lots of playtime, walks, and plenty of updates while you’re away. I treat every dog like they’re my own. Side note, I do have a cat but she is an outside cat. I’m currently working 5am-1pm but I will be switching to night shifts around the end of July 2026, those shifts will be 3-11, 4-12pm. I also work right down the road so I don’t mind taking a lunch and running home to take out the pup for a potty break. I have a fenced yard, an upstairs and downstairs with a doggy gate leftover from our last dog, plenty of waste bags and dog leashes and some leftover toys. It is a very comfortable clean house.

About: I have multi-dog household experience. There has always been at least two dogs in my house growing up, they’re my favorite animals. I have a chocolate Labrador named Whiskey, and a Schnoodle named Max. My chihuahua sadly passed away. I love to meet and have other dogs in my house. I’m comfortable administering oral medication if needed. I’ll send daily photo updates. I’m a stay at home mom so there’s always time to care and play with our furry kids. I wake up between 6-8am and go to bed by 10pm. When I need to leave the house to run errands, I don’t take longer than 3 hours at a time, so I make sure my pets are taken outside for potty and water breaks. There is a fenced area in the back of our house, and a big open area. I can take them out on a leash if needed or crate them if they’re not house trained.
The median cost per night for pet boarding in Jacksonville is $38

Literally the best duo, they are our go to when it comes to dog sitting. Our dogs always look so happy with them and come back looking like they had a blast haha. We can’t say enough good things about Kristen! Our golden retriever was incredibly anxious about being away from us, but Kristen handled everything with so much patience, kindness, and professionalism. She took the time to earn his trust, never rushed the process, and always kept us updated. It was clear she truly cared about his well-being and comfort. Knowing he was in such good hands gave us real peace of mind while we were away. We are so grateful to have found Kristen and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone! She’s truly a gem!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
