“It’s a comfort for me when my dog, Zeke, is in Sandy’s care. When I’m away I can focus on what I need to do and I don’t worry about Zeke at all. I’m very grateful for Sandy’s loving care of my little dog. She’s a very wonderful and kind person.”

“Lillie had a great time! She conked out in the car as soon as we picked her up. Brittany sent us status reports and photos, which alleviated our worries about leaving Lillie behind. Great experience.”

“Samantha is a wonderful dog sitter!! Knox is always so excited when we pull up to her house and she loves Samantha, her family and their dogs. She keeps me updated every day with pics and videos. We are very grateful to have found such an amazing sitter for Knox!!”

“I was worried cause Haushi is a nervous mess usually, but she was right at home with this family! I was away for almost 6 days and it was so reassuring because Lannette sent photos of Haushi every day, sometimes twice a day! Haushi was very well cared for and was much loved by Lannette, her husband, their little girls, and their two pups! Thank you so much Lannette and family for making Haushi a part of your home!!!”

“Reagan took very good care of our girls. She sent pictures and updates and responded pretty quickly when I asked about them. Her home is non smoking so I didn’t have to worry about taking them to the groomer right away. Would definitely have her dog sit for us again if she’ll have us. lol. Thank you Reagan!”

“Baxter had a fabulous time with Rebecca and her dog Lincoln. As always, he was happy to see me but I am positive he won't mind staying over another trip. Will definitely save Rebecca as a future dog sitter should we need it! Thanks Rebecca and family!”

“I couldn’t be more pleased with the care that Olivia and her husband provided for my dog. Olivia went seriously above and beyond for Kato during his stay (which was a last minute booking for Christmas too). Kato is a bigger, young bully, so he’s not always the easiest to handle. Olivia handled him with ease and treated him like her own family pet. I received pictures, they went on hikes and car rides, etc (above and beyond like I said) 💕💕 I’m so glad we found Olivia. I’ve had some bad experiences with pet sitters, but I had no anxiety or worries during this stay and that’s priceless. I would 100% recommend Olivia and her husband to everyone.”

“Jordan is so great. Will continue to use her services when we go away. Our giant lab stayed with her twice now for a week and he gets the most love and beat care. She's a professional at this!”

“Oakley enjoyed staying with Kenzie!! They were very flexible with us concerning drop off and pick up times. Would definitely board with them again! It's always hard to leave your dog, but we felt good leaving her with Kenzie. A very positive experience all around.”

“Samantha and Christopher were absolutely amazing with my two GSDs! They took such wonderful care of them, and it gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. Every picture they sent showed both of my dogs looking happy, relaxed, and well cared for, which meant the world to me. My dogs have separation anxiety, so leaving them is never easy, but Samantha and Christopher made the entire experience so much less stressful. It was clear they were patient, attentive, and genuinely cared about making my pups feel safe and comfortable. I'm incredibly grateful for the love and care they gave my dogs. I wouldn't hesitate to book with them again, and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for trustworthy, compassionate sitters. Thank you both for taking such great care of my babies! ❤️”

About: As a Family I’ve been taking care of pets for over 40 years. We took in bunnies, parakeets, dogs, cats. Especially close to my heart are senior pets. I am retired but help out with school drop off and pick up for my grandkids and watch them when they are out of school. They are all pet lovers and respectful of pets. I have a fenced in backyard and an elderly dog who loves spending time with other dogs I also go to friends and relatives houses to take care of their pets.
“Daniella took great care of our dog! They walked to the park several times a day and she sent us videos each day. We could definitely tell that our dog was comfortable in her care, we would recommend her!”

“I can’t say enough about Aramae and her family. They took great care of our two little ones over the holiday. She treated them like family and kept us updated. Thank you so much.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Hubert
This couple was amazing! Our German shepherds had never been boarded before and haven’t really socialized with other dogs. Mandy and Matt cured both of those issues the first hour. They communicated with us several times daily with pictures and videos. We are more than satisfied and will use them next time we go out of town.

Mandi and Matt are INCREDIBLE. They’re super personable and kind, have a lovely, welcoming home, and their boys were so sweet with my dog. Scout stayed with them for a week and I got regular updates every single morning. Any time there was information I needed to know, they let me know immediately. This is the best Rover experience I’ve ever had, we will definitely be coming back here whenever Scout needs a place to stay!

Elizabeth immediately made friends with Tillie as did her own dog-Tillie loved having a friendly playmate and a big fenced yard. Tillie was well-cared for with lots of attention and exercise. Elizabeth was very prompt with communication and updates. Highly recommend.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
