“Joel is amazing with our big lab! He takes care to communicate and post photos of their adventures. I know Gus loves his time outside with this buddy! I'd highly recommend Joel's services. 🐾”

“Lisa was so good with my dog. She provided thorough updates of what they did, how Emma was and how their time together went. It’s reassuring to know that when I go to work, my dog gets a break during the day to go on a walk and use the bathroom and is well taken care of! So grateful for how sweet she is to my dog, and my dog also enjoys their time together!”
About: I've taken care of animals my whole life. My parents bred dogs, we had horses, pigs, cats and chickens. Unfortunately I am allergic to cats so cannot take care them. I started watching my friends and families dogs recently and my kids and I love it and want to invite more into our home❤️ I work full time but I can work from home anytime. I am mostly home with my kids and we love taking walks and playing outside. I have a fenced yard and a house that can easily be blocked off if needed. We are a few blocks from a lake that we love to walk to!
“Morgan is a very respectable and responsible individual. They offered to come meet out puppy before the first walk and listened to our suggestions for taking care of our puppy.”

“Five huge stars to Linda for taking superb care of our girls! The quality and attention to detail paid by Linda makes us so happy (especially the dogs)! Both dogs are much happier once we return from our day from their time spent with Linda. I highly recommend Linda for any/all of your canine needs!”
“Don always takes great care of my girl and I truly appreciate someone to walk my dog and care for her as much as I do. Xena is a sweet girl and I truly appreciate Don be as equally sweet to her and patient with her.”

“Jessica was incredible! She took great care of our pups and left a very detailed summary of her visit. She even went above and beyond with an intro call before her visit. We look forward to booking her again.”

“Erik took our pup on an awesome long walk. I really appreciated the pictures and updates. It made us feel great knowing she got some great exercise and had a fun time 😊”

“Samantha took great care of Poppy and we really appreciate her coming over and walking poppy, letting her run around outside and giving her treats”

“Makayla was amazing with our 2 active and medium sized pups walking daily for 2 weeks! Gave them the outlet they needed while we were away. We will definitely be using Makayla for our next trip away!”

“Illiana was very communicative and one of my dog’s favorite dog walkers. She is always on time, lets me know when she gets there and always send a post walk selfie to ease my mind. I couldn’t recommend her enough!”

“This was my first time using rover and Sienna was soooo great! I felt like Jax got the love he needed. She took lots of great pictures and stayed in contact. I hope I get Sienna every time.”

About: Growing up with a plethora of various animals has taught me a lot about critter care. I’ve taken care of my own goats, sheep, horses, cats, dogs, chickens, guineas, turkeys, and plenty more. Farm life gave me experience with the circle of life, medications, tending to injuries, etc. Feel free to reach out if you’d like to speak more about my experience or talk to a reference. I’ve grown up on a hobby farm my whole life. My experience from living on a farm with plenty of animals has made me knowledgeable about many animals, but my heart pulls me to dogs the most! **IN DECORAH** (not summer 2026) My family farm has a mini Aussie and a German Wirehair (both are very friendly) who love to run around with visitors! We’ve also got some other critters in our pastures but can kennel/crate your dog if needed. *IN COLORADO** (Summer 2026) I live with my nanny family, so Greta sticks with me a majority of the time. She does love making new friends to run around with, but I can crate her for walks and drop-in visits if needed.
“Lauren is so sweet and amazing. She’s very gentle with my doggo and so amazing. She built my dog a fort and sent me the cutest picture while I was at work. She went above and beyond. Highly recommend”

I have a fenced in back yard and two of my own animals, but am not able to host animals at my home at this time.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Wheat Ridge
Michaelah is wonderful. I’ve been using her as a sitter and walker for years and she’s always been professional, trustworthy, reliable and treated my dog like family. My dog is always thrilled to see her and super calm and happy after her visits. I can’t recommend her enough.

I had Rhianna walk my large, older dog and my son's large dog while we were on vacation. She did a wonderful job, communicated well with me and with our house sitter, and gave the dogs all the exercise they needed. They are both rather shy and not fans of new people, but they went with her happily. I would definitely book with her again!!

- 93% of walkers can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
