“Grace has been so kind and accommodating with our little Luna! Even on days when our 11-year-old pup isn’t quite up for a walk, Grace still takes the time to bring her outside to a shady spot in the grass so she can enjoy some fresh air and the beautiful weather. We truly appreciate the extra care and attention she gives Luna”

“Joel is amazing with our big lab! He takes care to communicate and post photos of their adventures. I know Gus loves his time outside with this buddy! I'd highly recommend Joel's services. 🐾”

“Erik took our pup on an awesome long walk. I really appreciated the pictures and updates. It made us feel great knowing she got some great exercise and had a fun time 😊”

“Taylor was so sweet, came and met odie beforehand to make sure he was comfortable, and immediately made us feel at ease taking care of Odie. Will absolutely be using Taylor again!”

About: Hello! My name is Jackie and I've been a dog mom for over 20 years. My first pup was a Golden Retriever named Sam and my second is an Aussie named Norman. Long before Rover I would often house/pet sit for friends. I have experience with all ages of dogs. I cared for my good ole boy Sam from puppyhood until he was almost 15. On the other hand, Aussie Norman is high-functioning and anxious dog. He gets along well with other pups and loves playing. I work from home and am able to let dogs out as often as necessary, plus I have a doggie door. We live in a great neighborhood where it is easy to go out for walks. My house has a doggie dog that fits pups up to 80 lbs! It gives them great freedom to move in and out for bathroom breaks as they wish. Although the house is small, it has a large backyard. Norman is a friendly Aussie who loves other dogs, big and small, and would love a play friend. Pups can sit on the couch, just not the beds.
About: Raised German Shepherds to Shih Tzus. Managed senior medications for 5+ years. Currently pet-free home, offering flexible weekdays and completely open, full-time weekends. I have great flexibility during the week for drop-ins and walks around Sloan's Lake. My Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays are completely open, allowing me to dedicate my entire weekend to full-time, focused pet sitting. Security and comfort are my top priorities. In my pet-free apartment or your home, I strictly follow your instructions, maintain established routines, secure all entryways, and carefully administer any needed senior medications.
About: I’ve been taking care of my neighbors cats and dogs since childhood, and then had a family dog as well. Now miss having one of my own and would love to give yours some love! I work remotely with a flexible schedule so I have time to walk and play with your pet, and can always stop by to feed them as well. I have a house with a large fenced-in yard. I’m very clean and organized so your pet will be safe with me, and so will your home.

“Lisa was so good with my dog. She provided thorough updates of what they did, how Emma was and how their time together went. It’s reassuring to know that when I go to work, my dog gets a break during the day to go on a walk and use the bathroom and is well taken care of! So grateful for how sweet she is to my dog, and my dog also enjoys their time together!”
About: Hi, I’m Allison—your pet’s go-to gal! 🐾 My love for animals started early with my two childhood pets: Jack, my sweet Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, and Lady, my orange cat who had plenty of personality and a special place in my heart. They taught me just how much joy, comfort, and companionship pets bring to our lives. I’ve been pet sitting since I was 15 and have always been the person friends and family call when they need someone reliable to care for their furry family members. More recently, I’ve been watching my friend’s Portuguese Water Dog and have officially become the go-to gal for all of my friends’ pet-sitting needs. Whether it’s walks, playtime, sticking to routines, or extra cuddles on the couch, I treat every pet as if they were my own. My boyfriend and I would love a dog of our own someday, but because he currently works out of town, we’re waiting until his schedule changes. Until then, we’d love the chance to pour all that love and attention into caring for yours! I know leaving your pet with someone else can be stressful, so my goal is to make sure you feel completely at ease and that your pet feels safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. I work from home full-time Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM–3:00 PM, and my job is incredibly flexible, which makes pet care a perfect fit for my schedule. Because I’m home during the day, I can provide plenty of attention, potty breaks, walks, playtime, and cuddles instead of pets being left alone for long stretches. I’m able to take breaks throughout the day to check in on your pets and adjust my schedule as needed to make sure they’re comfortable, happy, and well cared for. Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or in a client’s home, I treat them like they’re my own. I stick closely to their usual routine, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medications, and any special instructions, because I know consistency helps pets feel safe and comfortable. I make sure they get plenty of attention, affection, and exercise, and I always keep owners updated with photos and messages so they can have peace of mind while they’re away.

“Excellent caretaker for my fur baby. Linda is flexible with scheduling, prompt with responding and professional. Linda sends a picture of my dog from every walk and gives an update on how he is doing. This is most helpful and puts my worries at ease.”

“Illiana was very communicative and one of my dog’s favorite dog walkers. She is always on time, lets me know when she gets there and always send a post walk selfie to ease my mind. I couldn’t recommend her enough!”

About: I'm a true pet-lover, through and through. I grew up helping my grandmother foster and raise kittens as well as adult cats and dogs (particularly ones with special needs). My husband and I have our own sweet dog, Honey, who is and forever will be our 'first-born child' ha! I love to care for and interact with others' pets and hope to one day have my own farm's worth of animal babies. I've had experience with caring for puppies, kittens, and dogs with disabilities or special needs. I love to go on long walks or hikes in the morning and evening with our own dog and my schedule is very flexible, so I can check on your animals and/or walk them whenever you need me to! Currently I am home everyday and am available for walks or check-in's any weekday, barring any previous commitments (which I will communicate with you well in-advance). I have a car and am able to travel to pet owners' homes to hang out and/or walk your pets within a set schedule. I follow directions to a tee, and will always be respectful when arriving/leaving and inside of your home. I am happy to crate your pet(s) before leaving and happy to stay longer if needed.
“Samantha took great care of Poppy and we really appreciate her coming over and walking poppy, letting her run around outside and giving her treats”

“I highly recommend Hana for dog walking services! She was great with my pup on days where I needed some help breaking up the day with a walk while at work. Timely, professional and friendly. My pup Bonnie would have her any day.”

“Juliana is great with our dog. She communicates timely and is punctual. She send photos and always lets us know how Zappa is doing. Highly recommend!”

About: Hi, I’m Jack – Your Pet’s New Friend! I’ve had cats and dogs my whole life, and caring for animals has always been a big part of who I am. These days, I have my two cats, Meryl and Gilbert, and my golden retriever named Finley. I’ve helped friends and neighbors with their pets for years: walking, feeding, house-sitting, and giving meds when needed. I’ve also volunteered with rescue organizations many times, so I’m comfortable with animals that need a little extra patience or have unique needs. Every pet has their own personality, and I take the time to get to know what helps them feel safe, happy, and at ease. If I’m looking after your pet, I’ll treat them like one of my own. What You Can Expect When I Care for Your Pet: • Loving, Personalized Care: I get that every pet is special, and I take the time to get to know their unique personality, whether they need extra playtime, a gentle approach, or simply some good pats and scratches. • Daily Routine & Comfort: I understand the importance of routine for pets. I’ll stick to their schedule, ensuring they feel secure and relaxed while you’re away. • All-Inclusive Attention: From walks, feeding, and fresh water to bathroom breaks, playtime, or simply keeping them company, I’m here to meet all their needs. • Special Care for Nervous or Shy Pets: I’m patient and experienced with pets who need time to warm up. I’ll create a calm, safe space where they can feel comfortable. • A Pet Parent Myself: I start every day caring for my own two cats and dog so I understand the little things that make a big difference in keeping pets happy and healthy. Before We Get Started, I’d Love to Know: 1. Dietary Needs: Does your pet have any specific food preferences, allergies, or a set feeding schedule? 2. Behavioral Traits: Is your pet shy, playful, energetic, or prone to separation anxiety? Any quirks around other animals? I’m here to make sure your pet feels right at home, giving you peace of mind while you’re away. Let’s chat and see how I can help! Looking forward to meeting you and your pet! – Jack As a devoted pet parent to two cats and a dog and someone who works mostly from home, pet care is an essential part of my daily routine. I understand the importance of ensuring pets feel safe, loved, and well cared for, whether it’s through regular feeding, going on walks, playtime, or offering comfort and companionship. I know how much our pets mean to us, and I strive to provide the same level of attention and care to others’ pets as I do my own. Love, patience, and compassion are key when caring for pets, especially those who may be a little shy at first. I focus on making sure they feel safe and comfortable, with plenty of attention to their needs—whether that’s fresh water, food, bathroom breaks, or just a bit of playtime. I’m attuned to each pet’s individual personality and always prioritize their well-being to provide the best possible care.

Emily is a constant joy to work with! She takes such good care of Tucker on his walks. She is always communicative, which is a must! Plus that lets me know that she values our time. She also gives very thorough report cards. You cannot go wrong having her walk/care for your fur baby!

Michaelah is wonderful. I’ve been using her as a sitter and walker for years and she’s always been professional, trustworthy, reliable and treated my dog like family. My dog is always thrilled to see her and super calm and happy after her visits. I can’t recommend her enough.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
