About: I’m a calm, reliable, and attentive pet sitter who understands that every pet has different needs and personalities. As a longtime dog owner myself, I know how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet. My dog Charlie was part of my life for 14 years, so I understand the level of care, patience, and love pets deserve at every stage of life, from energetic younger dogs to seniors who need a gentler approach. I’m especially patient with anxious or high-energy dogs and prioritize making pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while their owners are away. Whether it’s long walks, playtime, sticking to routines, or just providing companionship, I treat every pet like they’re my own. I also believe strong communication matters, so I make sure owners feel informed and at ease with regular updates and photos. I currently work part-time from home, which gives me a flexible schedule and the ability to provide attentive, consistent care throughout the day. Pet care fits naturally into my routine because I genuinely enjoy being active, going on walks, and spending time with animals. I’m available for walks, drop-ins, and pet sitting during both weekdays and weekends, and I prioritize keeping pets comfortable by maintaining their normal routines and giving them plenty of attention and companionship. I prioritize creating a calm, safe, and comfortable environment for every pet in my care. I pay close attention to routines, behavior, and individual needs, whether that means extra exercise, a slower pace for senior dogs, or helping anxious pets feel more at ease. As a longtime dog owner myself, I understand how important trust and peace of mind are when someone else is caring for your pet, and I genuinely treat every dog with the same patience, attention, and affection I would give my own. I’m respectful of clients’ homes, follow care instructions carefully, and provide regular updates and photos so owners always feel informed and confident their pet is being well cared for.

“Kathryn was great! She helped me out last minute and took such good care of my puppy. She was able to let him out twice a day, spent time playing with him, and made me feel completely at ease my first days away from him. She had great communication, was always on time, and kept my house exactly the way I left it. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone and would use her again!”

“Sara always does a great job taking my dog out on walks. She even has to clean up the messes he makes which is going above and beyond what she needs to do. He also had a spinal surgery so she is sure to walk him carefully.”
“Katrina has been a great dog walker for us! She’s excellent with communication, reliable, and flexible with our schedules. Our dog, Luna, takes a little time to warm up to new people, and Katrina was patient and took the time to help her feel comfortable. We feel at ease knowing Luna is in good hands. We highly recommend her!”

“Emi came to our house before the booking started to meet Rocky and get to know his routine. She asked all the important questions to make sure she understood his needs, which immediately gave me confidence that he would be in great hands. Emi did an amazing job taking care of Rocky! She took him on walks and, when the weather was too hot, brought him to the dog park in our apartment complex so he could still get exercise and have fun. She was an absolute lifesaver during a very busy week. She also sent me photos of Rocky every day, and I could tell from his face how happy he was! I am so grateful to have found someone I can truly trust, not only with my home, but with the most precious thing in my life: Rocky. I would absolutely recommend Emi to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and thoughtful dog walker.”

“Melina did wonderful with Willow; she warmed up to Melina almost immediately. Melina also provided plenty of updates with pictures so I was never worried about my little girl.”

“Lauren was fabulous. She showed up on time, asked great questions to get to know Steve and his walking style, and was out for the whole time or extra. I will be rebooking regularly!”

About: I have been a pet parent for multiple dogs in the past twenty years, with often two or three fur babies at a time! I am a Registered Nurse, and am just as comfortable providing TLC to dog babies as I am to humans. Due to COVID, I am currently working from home, and have more options to watch and care for your fur baby. Because of my nursing education and experience, I am proficient at administering injectable (or other) medications, performing dressing changes, or doing any other task which requires medical knowledge or skill. I am quasi – retired at this point, and have lots of free time to devote to your fur baby! I would love to schedule either recurring or one-time visits - I'm flexible! My fur baby is a very friendly husky who loves playmates! I have a fenced-in yard, with walking access to Belmar park. My significant other is also a lover of fur babies great and small, and we are both Registered Nurses (for humans). We treat our fur baby as a member of our family, and we would treat yours the same, as well!
“Don always takes great care of my girl and I truly appreciate someone to walk my dog and care for her as much as I do. Xena is a sweet girl and I truly appreciate Don be as equally sweet to her and patient with her.”

About: I recently put my senior dog down and my house feels so empty. I grew up with cats and dogs but have pet-sitted for friends with bunnies, fish, gerbils, rats, etc. I can accommodate taking care of animals of all ages and needs. I am a remote, contract employee so my schedule is very flexible. I don't have children or pets so I can (and am happy to be able to) provide lots of quality time to the pet. I am a responsible individual that loves spending time with animals. I respect and care about the pet, owner and environment. Ensuring the happiness and safety of the pet is a priority for me. I am comfortable and confident taking care of any pet and their needs.
About: I’ve grown up with dogs my entire life and truly love being around all animals. I began dog sitting in high school and have continued gaining experience over the years. Most recently, I cared for working dogs on a farm in New Zealand, giving me hands-on experience with a wide range of breeds, temperaments, and energy levels. I’m currently in school, which gives me a flexible schedule. I can easily fit in walks, playtime, and pet care, making sure each pet gets plenty of attention and consistency. I care for pets by giving them plenty of attention, love, and exercise. I make sure they feel safe, happy, and comfortable, whether it’s through walks, playtime, cuddles, or following their usual routines.
About: i have watched several dogs over the years, including grooming and dog boarding. absolutely love it and can assure you safe environment lots of love. i work from home so i have plenty of time to give your fur baby all the time they need with outside parks & company from my fur baby. I have a big park across the street with a underground trail. Safe environment lots of love and a pup to keep your fur baby company.

About: Let me bring your dog along for the adventure... exercise is good for both of us. I love all dogs and have experience with many breeds. I'm used to watching a female cane corse (Amy). I've done over nights at their house for the last 3+ years usually 2 weeks at a time and have done drop-ins also when needed. I also did dog sitting for my neighbors dog as needed female (black lab German shepherd mix). Usually I take the dogs for a short walk in the morning, and in the afternoon a short walk with sometime play time, and a long walk in the evening before bed. Looking forward to meeting you and your 4 legged pup. For references and more about me feel free to contact me. I prefer house sitting, walks or drop in visits as I do not have a fenced in yard nor can I have pets at my place. I will ensure the house is secure every time I exit and will provide daily updates including pictures when house sitting. I'm in the Army reserves and recently graduated a reclass school that was almost a year long. Taking some time off to travel but when I'm home this is a perfect little something for $$ and exercise and for both myself and your dogo. I care for all aminals as if they were humans, because let's be real sometimes they're better then humans! I am always extra safe and respectful.
About: I was raised around dogs and horses my entire childhood and share a dog and cat with my girlfriend currently. I have a flexible work schedule that allows me to be home and available often and love being active so I look forward to walks, runs and park days made better with a pup or two! We’ve fostered over 20 dogs so I also know the intricacies needed to handle dogs of all personalities and ages. I adore being around animals and will always care for them as I would my own! I am currently working part time. My days fluctuate and whether it is morning or afternoon is dependent on the week. So I have much time available with some variability. I ensure to ask questions of the owner and I make sure to be present and observant of the animal. If I am taking the dog on walks for instance, I like to know the level of handling the dog is used to and what the owner wishes. When with the animal, I ensure I notice its behaviors to learn its habits. I care much more for positive re-enforcement but can apply gentle negative re-enforcement (tugs on lease for instance) if the owner is ok with that. I am trained with e-collars so happy to ease into that with an animal if that is best.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
