About: My family has had dogs since I was 8 and I have always been the one to feed them, take them out, and play with them. I also have always been relied on to care for pets of friends and family. Dogs have been a source of happiness for me my whole life and I would love the opportunity to take care of other's dogs and bring joy to the dogs. I currently am in medical school at UConn and start back up the beginning of September. Thus, I would be able to care for the dogs after work and on the weekends. I am excited to fit caring for dogs into my weekly routine. I will care for pets in the client's home by following all instructions carefully. I will be sure to abide by all rules listed by the client and the organization to be sure that I effectively and safely care for dogs.
About: Dogs have been a part of my life since I was young. We had a dog growing up, and I've taken care of other people's dogs too. Many dogs seem to instinctively get a good reading of me and warm up to me quickly. Right now, I'm making a career switch and have a lot of open time. My work search activities schedule varies, so I can easily juggle taking care of your pets. Some people say that I'm a "dog magnet." It's not unusual for dogs, even unfamiliar ones, to instinctively be drawn to me. I also make sure to read any messages or printouts about care and routines so I can get a good idea of the How, What, and Where.
About: Your custom care is here. I’ve taken care of German Shepherds and small teacup poodles. Let me know what you need and I will do my best! I’m a full-time teacher so I get out of school at four so I can walk your dog then. I work in Hartford so I can also let your fur baby out on my break. Let me know if you need me watch or sit any of your pets over the weekend. Blessings! I live in a large condo association with lots of paved areas to walk. Some elevation and other friendly dogs around here. There’s a large vacant parking lot if they want to throw a ball or frisbee. There is a trail nearby if they want to walk in the woods or on rocks and dirt.
About: At home I've been taking care of Ramsey, my small, high-energy, dog for almost 9 years. In these 9 years I've gained a larger a sense of responsibility and my love for animals has grown tremendously. I know how to communicate with dogs and read dog body language in order to cater to their needs and give them best care. As a recent graduate, I have more flexibility in my schedule, I can dedicate ample time to caring for my pets. This includes feeding, grooming, walking, and spending quality time with them to ensure their well-being and happiness. Engaging in activities like playing, training, and companionship not only enriches their lives but also brings a sense of purpose to my day. While job hunting, I find solace and a sense of responsibility in taking care of my pets, creating a positive and fulfilling routine amidst my current situation. At home I make sure my dog cannot access anything that can harm him. I close doors to the bathroom so he can’t access the trash can and I put gates up around the house to areas he can’t be in. During walks I am very careful and aware of my surroundings. If I walk at night, I walk in a well lit area with a few friends.

About: I have taken care of animals for 15 years and I am very passionate about making animals feel safe, comfortable and loved. I grew up with both cats and dogs and so I am able to take care of both. From pugs, mastiffs, labradors, to cats, I can do it all. I give medication, deep-clean litter boxes, play with you pets and overall make sure your pet feels at ease while you’re away. I am currently a full time employee that works nights (5p-2a), and so I have a lot of free time during the day to take care of your pet. I always get up early to make sure I’m taking care of me and my cat’s needs and am able to extend that care to your animals as well. When I do a drop-in visit, I always do a sweep around the main areas of the house to ensure that everything is in order. For dogs, my main priority is to take them out, check their water bowl and play with them to make sure they have the care they need for the day. For cats, I will always check their litter boxes to see if it needs any scooping, I will also check their food and water bowls and fill them up if needed. Like dogs, I will respect their boundaries and play with them to ensure they’re comfortable.
“Matt and Mary Beth dropped in on Ipo several times over the course of three days while we had long days out of the house. From the initial meet and greet Ipo loved them and we trusted them to take good care of him. They were so attentive and asked all the right questions. After each visit they sent us an update and plenty of pictures of Ipo basking in their attention. Every night when we got home we could tell that he had been taken great care of. He even ate dinner for them no problem, which is sometimes a struggle. We’re over the moon with how well it went and we will definitely be using Matt & Mary Beth in the future!!”

I’ve watched dogs from 2 months to 14 years old, from an overweight chihuahua to an old Great Dane. Currently I have a labradoodle and French bulldog that I’ve raised since they were puppies. Currently working from home, so I have time to pop in and check on your pups, or dog sit on the weekends if you need. I will treat your pets like my own - walking them, administering medications, feeding them, whatever is needed. Happy to help take care of your pets.

West Hartford dog parents share their Rover experiences
Katie was the best and she went above and beyond taking care of my dog. Unfortunately, he had horrific diarrhea overnight between visits, and he also peed all over the house, something he has only done a few times in his life when he's been sick. Katie did an amazing job cleaning everything up - it was on the carpet, floor and couch. In addition, she hosed him down. She moved her next visit up after that, to be able to let him out sooner. I was able to make last minute arrangements for him to stay with my son. She shouldn't have had to deal with that unfortunate situation, but she was very courteous and concerned. In addition, Katie was prompt, she communicated well, and my dog took an immediate shine to her during the Meet and Greet.
Callan is simply amazing. I was traveling out of state which can be a little scary being so far away from your pets. But Callan put me at ease the entire time I was away. He sent me pictures and updates everyday. The pups love their snuggle time and were always so happy to great him. I will use Callan anytime I am I need of dependable great care for my pups.

Laura has been an absolutely blessing to have around! It’s so important to have piece of mind when having someone else care for your fur child and I always knew my dog was well taken care of with her!! Would definitely recommend choosing her for your pet needs!

Brianna is wonderful! For Murphy it was love at first sight. Great communication, trustworthy, and of course our dogs new best friend. Has been very thorough and made sure to stay on his routine and keep up with his puppy energy. Took cute pictures and kept us updated. We couldn’t be happier!

Madison took amazing care of our two large dogs during our overnight away, and we couldn’t be more grateful. She made sure they got plenty of playtime in the yard, kept them happy and tired out, and gave them so much love and attention with every visit. She was incredibly professional, thoughtful, and communicative throughout, and we truly looked forward to the adorable photos she sent. It gave us such peace of mind knowing they were in such caring hands. We can’t thank her enough!
