About: I’ve had dogs my whole life and just recently welcomed two cats into my family. I have been babysitting and nannying for as long as I can remember which would often lead to taking care of their four legged family members as well. I’ve assisted in potty training and with my own pets helped apply and give medications. I am someone who is reliable and trustworthy. I know how much my pets mean to me and have always treated any animals in my care as if they were my own. Right now I am off for the summer and because I work in a school am off on holidays and weekends. Once school starts again in August a typical work day is 7am-3pm. Throughout my years of working with families came a lot of house sitting and pet sitting for them and their friends. I am always respect of other peoples homes and am more than happy to take in mail/packages and take care of plants. I will always take care of your pets like they are my own. I am reliable and communicative.
About: I have over 5 years of experience caring for dogs, cats, and other pets. I provide dog walking, drop-in visits, overnight care, pet transportation, feeding, playtime, and medication administration when needed. I understand that every pet has their own personality and routine, and I always strive to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their family is away. I truly enjoy meeting new pets and caring for them as if they were my own.🐾❤️ Pet care is already a part of my daily routine, and I do my best to accommodate each pet's individual needs. I offer dog walking, drop-in visits, overnight stays, pet taxi services, and care for both dogs and cats. Since my availability can vary, please feel free to send me a message with your requested dates, times, and care needs. I respond promptly and will let you know as quickly as possible if I am available and how I can help. I I provide a safe, calm, and loving environment for every pet in my care. I carefully follow each owner's instructions regarding feeding, medications, exercise, and routines. I pay close attention to behavior changes and make sure pets always have fresh water, a clean space, and plenty of affection. Whether in my home or yours, I treat every pet as if they were my own.
“KiAnna was fantastic. Our dogs loved her, and they were in great hands when we were away. Her experience as a vet tech was highly appreciated as the dogs are old and have medication needs that she was able to handle with no problems. Looking forward to having KiAnna back again next time we are out of town!”

“Mylinda was very professional and had a great way with both Ella and Milo (dog and cat). She left my home better than when she arrived and most importantly shared photos of my furry friends while I was away. Highly recommend her. K”

About: I've raised my own cat, Bug, age 2, since he was 2 months old, alongside my roommate's cat whom I've lived with for 4 years. I've also raised over 30 houseplants and have vast knowledge of a variety of plants and their needs. Additionally, I've been around the many animals in my family my whole life and have sat for relatives' cats and dogs of all sizes over the years. I'm currently in between jobs as I relocate from North Carolina to Connecticut and ultimately back to NYC, so I have a pretty open schedule! Happy to alter my plans around pet care and house sitting. I'm also a gigging musician so there are sporadic nights and weekends that may become unavailable, but I am largely looking to be a sitter while I'm in CT. Willing and able to care for indoor/outdoor pets, go on walks, make sure cats and dogs get plenty of play and pets as desired, give treats, clean and maintain home spaces, and whatever else you may need!
“I truly cannot recommend her enough! She went above and beyond every single day and cared for Benji like he was her own. She even stepped in during an unexpected situation at home and made sure not only Benji, but my daughter and our cat were safe and taken care of. Her kindness, reliability, and genuine love for animals and people are unmatched. I feel incredibly lucky to have found someone I trust so much with my home and my family. We absolutely adore her and will continue booking her! ❤️🐾”

“Sharon was absolutely amazing with our beloved princess, Zoey. She really went the extra mile to make sure Zoey was well taken care of and even shared lots of photos of their adventures together. We’re super grateful to have found Sharon and will definitely use her services again. If you’re looking for someone trustworthy and dedicated to care for your pet and home, Sharon is the perfect choice. Thanks so much again, Sharon, for your help! Zoey absolutely loved you!”

About: I have four rescue dogs at home, and I truly understand the joy and challenges that come with caring for them. Since I'm studying online, my schedule is quite flexible, which allows me to balance my commitments. I'm looking for some extra cash to support my education, and I believe this opportunity is a perfect fit for me. Staying active is something I genuinely enjoy, and I’d love to combine that with my passion for caring for animals. I do school online therefore my schedule is very flexible, I can make further arrangements as needed. I am open to anything really don’t hesitate to ask! I have experience with both puppies and older dogs. I recognize how important it is for dog owners to feel that their pets are well cared for, especially since dogs are fully dependent on us.
“We are so lucky to have Jillian to care for our pets! Prompt, professional, thorough, communicative, supportive, and animal- sensitive : there are not enough superlatives or stars to reflect our gratitude for Jillian’s work.”

“Margaret was wonderful! She shared so many fun experiences with our dog Daisy while she sat her at our house. She took her to the beach for the first time and played the entire time! We definitely recommend her!”

“Joanna and her daughter took excellent care of our two dogs and our house! They kept us updated with frequent photos of our dogs, which was a nice touch. This was our first time booking on Rover so we were a little nervous, but after meeting Joanna, we were at ease. She exceeded all of our expectations and we plan on booking her again during our next vacation. She is a top notch pet/house sitter! A+++ Thank you, Joanna!!”

“Eleni was wonderful! She truly bonded with our dog, and it felt so nice to go on vacation knowing that he was being well cared for. We would absolutely work with her again!”

Sophia and Lily did an amazing job watching our two dogs and our cat. They sent us daily updates on how everyone was doing which gave us peace of mind knowing our fur-family was in good hands. They are very responsible and left our house clean when they left. I would highly recommend them for pet sitting especially if you are looking for someone who can stay in your home.

Meredith substituted for our regular cat sitter over the Christmas holiday. She did a great job of communicating with me and with our usual sitter (regarding the logistics of taking over, etc.), and our four cats and home were well taken care of under her watch. We will definitely hire Meredith again when/if our regular sitter isn't available.

Lindsay stayed in our home with our 3 year old dog for the past week and it was a great experience. Lindsay sent photo updates and kept me informed on Patti’s eating, sleeping and potty trips. The house was left in perfect order and Patti was so happy and unstressed. We would definitely use Lindsay again!

The average cost for House Sitting in West Hartford on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred West Hartford walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in West Hartford maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in West Hartford choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
