“Brittany is great... she is my go to cat sitter. She is reliable, my cats seem to like her, my house is just like I left it when I come home. Couldn't ask for more”

“M did a great job watching our cats! They are a great communicator and we felt comfortable leaving our cats in their care! Would recommend M to take care of your pets!”

“Katie was so responsive and accommodating. Our trip was short notice and had some extra complications that Katie handled without any issues. We really appreciated the nightly updates and the knowledge that Katie was there for anything our cat needed. We will definitely be using her services again!”

“Veronica was great with my dog and great with checking in with me. I appreciated that she texted me to make sure my dog would be ok going outside when there was thunder. I highly recommend her!”

“Vanessa did a fantastic job as I hired her last minute due to traveling for work. Awesome communication start to finish. I look forward to hiring her again. Thank you!”

“Jillian kept us in the loop each day that she was there. Followed our instructions thoroughly, and even included pictures and update notes. She was also kind enough to drop by to grab the keys. We came back to happy cat!”

“This was the first time I booked Le'Andra to do daily check-ins on my cat Gabby while I was out of town. She was great! Le'Andra always stayed in communication with me by text. And she did her best to still take care of my cat while also dealing with the storm and very cold temperatures we recently had. Le'Andra is nice and very friendly. I would definitely request her again the next time I need a cat sitter, and would also recommend her to anyone considering booking her on Rover.”

About: I have had dogs and cats my entire life growing up. I have experience both taking care of dogs and cats of all ages. Since October 2025 I have been a puppy nanny for the cutest Wheaton as well as watching his senior siblings. In this position I was responsible for training, sitting, and walking the puppy and have recently ended this position due to moving to West Hartford to attend graduate school at UHart. I have also gained experience cat sitting for a coworker when she is away on vacation. I am currently starting my first summer semester at the University of Hartford so I am looking for opportunities mainly on the weekends but I am also available most Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays later in the day. I will be able to provide care in any living situation/setting based on your instructions to provide the best care possible for your pets.
About: I’ve been around dogs since I was 10 years old, and I learned early on that pets are truly part of the family. Growing up, my mom regularly opened our home for dog sitting, and I’ve been helping care for pets alongside her for over five years. I’m experienced with feeding, walking, playtime, and giving dogs the attention and companionship they need to feel comfortable and happy while their owners are away. I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals and making sure they feel safe, loved, and cared for like they’re my own pets. Pet care fits well into my routine because I’m open and flexible with making time for the animals I care for. I currently work part time, which gives me availability to schedule walks, drop-ins, playtime, feeding, and quality time with pets throughout the week. I enjoy spending time with animals, so I’m happy to adjust my routine to make sure they feel cared for, comfortable, and not alone while their owners are away. I care for every pet like they’re part of the family because that’s how I’ve always treated my own dogs. My pets are truly my babies, and I love spending time with them, whether that’s playing, relaxing together, or just keeping them company. Now that my dogs are seniors, they enjoy lounging in the sun, relaxing around the house, and spending time with their people and companions. When dogs stay in our home for boarding, we treat them like they’re our own pets. They get lots of attention, love, companionship, walks, and time to relax and feel comfortable. They spend time with our dogs, lounge around together, and are never made to feel alone. We create a calm, loving environment where pets can feel safe and at home — many even sleep on our beds because we want them to feel as comfortable and cared for as possible while their owners are away.
“Laura provided such great care for our pets (two pups and a cat). She was kind, loving, and really engaged with them (petting, playing fetch, etc.). I highly recommend her and will definitely be utilizing her services again!!!”

About: Dogs have been a part of my life since I was young. We had a dog growing up, and I've taken care of other people's dogs too. Many dogs seem to instinctively get a good reading of me and warm up to me quickly. Right now, I'm making a career switch and have a lot of open time. My work search activities schedule varies, so I can easily juggle taking care of your pets. Some people say that I'm a "dog magnet." It's not unusual for dogs, even unfamiliar ones, to instinctively be drawn to me. I also make sure to read any messages or printouts about care and routines so I can get a good idea of the How, What, and Where.
About: I’ve had several dogs and cats to take care of since I was 5 years old. I have always loved animals and wanted to work with them in some way, so this is my way to do just that. I currently have a cat and I’m always spending time with my family’s cat and dog. I would love to care for other pets as often as I can. I always make sure that the pet is stimulated and getting enough love and affection. Pets need more than just food and water! I make sure to meet as many needs as possible.

About: While my expertise lies with cats, I have grown very fond of small, cat-like dogs! I’m very active, so going for walks and feeding a smaller dog is lots of fun for me! I work full time from home a normal 9-5 pm and I frequently go to the gym after work. I have open availability most days to drop in whenever needed! I live in an apartment with one cat. He is friendly with other cat friendly cats, and I do have an extra guest room set up for human or cat guests alike!

About: I am a former United States Marine, retired law enforcement officer, firefighter, and paramedic with decades of experience protecting and caring for others under pressure. Throughout my career, trust, reliability, situational awareness, and compassion were essential parts of the mission, and I carry those same values into pet care today. Whether your pet needs daily walks, drop-in visits, companionship while you’re away, medication support, or attentive overnight care, you can feel confident knowing they are in calm, capable hands. I understand how important it is to trust someone entering your home and caring for members of your family, and I take that responsibility seriously. I’m comfortable with dogs of all sizes and temperaments, as well as cats and senior pets. My background has taught me patience, consistency, and how to stay calm in unexpected situations — useful skills whether handling an energetic shepherd, a stubborn bulldog, or a cat that operates like a tiny furry insurgent. I provide attention, cuddles and playtime for your fur babies- Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. As a retired Marine and first responder, I'm accustomed to maintaining a structured schedule and being dependable. I have the flexibility to provide walks, drop-in visits, feeding, companionship, and attentive care throughout the day. I enjoy staying active, and spending time with animals is something I genuinely look forward to. When caring for pets in their own home, I do my best to maintain their normal routine to reduce stress and keep them comfortable. This includes feeding, fresh water, walks, playtime, litter box or yard cleanup, medication administration if needed, and plenty of attention and companionship. I also keep owners updated with messages and photos so they know their pets are doing well. If pets stay in my home, they will be treated like family in a safe, clean, and supervised environment. I'll follow their feeding schedule, exercise needs, and any special instructions provided by the owner. My goal is to ensure every pet feels comfortable, secure, and cared for whether they're staying with me or I'm caring for them in their own home.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - West Hartford
Katie did a great job with my sassy cat! I really appreciated her consistency and communication, she made sure my cat had no interruption in her daily medications which was a big relief to me while on my vacation. I would absolutely hire her again and recommend her to others.

Veronica went above and beyond to ensure that I felt comfortable leaving my cats for a short vacation. Beyond feeding them and cleaning the boxes, she spent time with them and got to know them, which made them feel more comfortable. I would recommend Veronica for any pet sitting needs anyone may have. She’s a very sweet, kind, hard-working person.

Haoran was absolutely amazing. She went above and beyond to take care of our cats. I truly can not thank her enough. Not only was so great at communicating, she was so understanding of our situation with our rescue cats. She also cleaned more then she had too/more then what we ever expected. I can not say enough how nice it was to come home to a clean house and cats that were happy and healthy and to be stress free about it while away. 😭❤️

Leah did a wonderful job with Sachi! She is prompt, responsive, and obviously cares a lot about animals. The regular updates and photos eased my worries about being away from my senior girl. I came home to a calm and content cat - and a nice clean litterbox! I would happily book with Leah again, and I hope I get the opportunity to!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in West Hartford. On Rover:

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
