About: I have been a pet sitter for 5 years now, with dozens of clients who frequently teach back out to me to watch their pets again. I have worked as a veterinary assistant as well as a kennel attendant for two summers and have a significant amount of experience caring for pets and their various needs. I have cared for dogs and cats of all ages and sizes. I also have experience working with reactive dogs insuring that your dog will be fully comfortable with me while you are gone. I am a student at the University of Hartford, so Monday through Thursday I would be stopping by between classes spending as much time with them as possible. Friday through Sunday I have no classes and so would be able to spend nearly the whole day with your pet. I am comfortable working with any sort of home from apartments to fenced in back yards. I am also fully commited to caring for your pets however they are used to being treated. This includes unconventional meal times, specific schedules that need to be followed and more. I also have experience working with animal medication and would be able to give your pet any medications they need.
“Kristen was amazing! My dog really bonded with her and I never had to worry that she was not being taken care of. I highly recommend Kristen and I will definitely use her again. Thank you so much!”

“Katherine was a cat parent’s dream! She took such great care of my two girls. She always made time for play and snuggles and even got my super shy cat to come out and feel comfortable. It really eased my anxieties about leaving them while on vacation knowing they were being looked after so well. Will definitely be booking again!!”

“Olivia did an awesome job ! It's always hard trusting someone to care for your babies but she gave me peace of mind while I was away. My cat warmed up to her right away which made me happy that they had company while I was gone 🥰 she even took the initiative to clean up and always reached out if she had any questions. She was quick to respond, followed all care instructions, and the communication was great! Lots of pics ☺️ I highly recommend her and look forward to having her sit for me again !”

“Deb is the best, we have two dogs. One senior and one wild 4 year old. She is great with both, very sweet and super reliable. She has helped us twice now and we hope to keep working with her in the future.”

About: I’ve been around dogs since I was 10 years old, and I learned early on that pets are truly part of the family. Growing up, my mom regularly opened our home for dog sitting, and I’ve been helping care for pets alongside her for over five years. I’m experienced with feeding, walking, playtime, and giving dogs the attention and companionship they need to feel comfortable and happy while their owners are away. I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals and making sure they feel safe, loved, and cared for like they’re my own pets. Pet care fits well into my routine because I’m open and flexible with making time for the animals I care for. I currently work part time, which gives me availability to schedule walks, drop-ins, playtime, feeding, and quality time with pets throughout the week. I enjoy spending time with animals, so I’m happy to adjust my routine to make sure they feel cared for, comfortable, and not alone while their owners are away. I care for every pet like they’re part of the family because that’s how I’ve always treated my own dogs. My pets are truly my babies, and I love spending time with them, whether that’s playing, relaxing together, or just keeping them company. Now that my dogs are seniors, they enjoy lounging in the sun, relaxing around the house, and spending time with their people and companions. When dogs stay in our home for boarding, we treat them like they’re our own pets. They get lots of attention, love, companionship, walks, and time to relax and feel comfortable. They spend time with our dogs, lounge around together, and are never made to feel alone. We create a calm, loving environment where pets can feel safe and at home — many even sleep on our beds because we want them to feel as comfortable and cared for as possible while their owners are away.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - West Hartford
I’m so glad Meredith was recommended to me by a friend who uses Rover. She is exactly the kind of person you hope to find when entrusting someone with the care of your cat or dog. Having her gave me such peace of mind while I was away. She was dependable, caring, attentive, and thoughtful in every way. I could relax knowing that my cat was in good hands and being well cared for. I’m very grateful to have found Meredith and would happily recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and compassionate pet sitter. I will definitely be calling on her again.
Brittany was fantastic! She kept me updated with photos and texts during each visit, followed my cat’s feeding instructions exactly, and my cat was clearly comfortable with her. Made it so easy to relax while I was away. Would book Brittany again without hesitation

Matt and Mary Beth dropped in on Ipo several times over the course of three days while we had long days out of the house. From the initial meet and greet Ipo loved them and we trusted them to take good care of him. They were so attentive and asked all the right questions. After each visit they sent us an update and plenty of pictures of Ipo basking in their attention. Every night when we got home we could tell that he had been taken great care of. He even ate dinner for them no problem, which is sometimes a struggle. We’re over the moon with how well it went and we will definitely be using Matt & Mary Beth in the future!!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
