“Janelle provided care for my doodle and is exceptional. Lola enjoyed her visits and I felt completely at ease knowing my pet was well taken care of from a professional pet sitter. Janelle is very accommodating and easy to work with. Highly recommended and I will definitely continue to request her assistance in the future.”

“Grace did an awesome job! I have the world’s shyest cat. Often sitters never see him. Grace is one of the rare humans my cat likes which is saying a lot. In addition to the cat, she gave me updates on my frogs and fish tanks. I highly recommend Grace and intend on using her again.”

“Laura has provided such loving care for our pets, particularly our senior cat. I am so thankful I found her and will continue to utilize her services going forward. I highly recommend her!”

“Jillian is thoughtful, communicative, and caring. She was gentle with my cat who initially was a little spicy toward her. Because of her patience, he quickly warmed up to her and when I returned seemed very calm and relaxed. Would recommend Jillian to anyone needing pet care!”
“Tiarra was excellent with our pet. She was able to calm our dog during our time away. He had never been left alone in his life. This was a big deal!!!! Tiarra will definitely be my “go to” when we need services. She did an amazing job & we tipped 😊”

“Rachel took care of Flapjack while we were out of town and did a phenomenal job. She provided daily detailed updates and multiple pictures, which we loved. Her updates gave us reassurance that he was well cared for. Rachel went above and beyond, bringing in our mail and checking for packages for us. We appreciate the peace of mind having Rachel as a sitter brought us, and will absolutely request her again in the near future!”

“Ellyse was amazing! Super willing to accept my last minute booking - and my modifications throughout the booking. Most importantly, she took great care of my dog Vernon! I will definitely use her in the future :)”

About: Hi I am Nora- a reliable student who loves spending time with animals of all sizes and personalities! I grew up in town with a Golden Retriever and a Bengal cat, but since their passings I have been occasionally watching other’s dogs! Neighbors, friends, and family have relied on me to take care of their furry loved ones (mostly large dogs) while going away for a weekend or a longer vacation. I am young, ambitious, and thoughtful, but new to this platform! I am currently working part time as a cashier while also studying. My flexible summer schedule M-F can accommodate your needs, while also making time for myself and my education. I am available for drop ins, walks, or house sitting and can accept last minute bookings if convenient. Only available until September! I know how important it is to trust someone with your pet, so I always prioritize safety and communication with each client and I expect the same from you. I will be sure to keep you updated and send pics/vids to let you know your pet is being taken care of! Looking forward to establishing a connection with you and your pet, while also making them feel comfortable. Open to short or weekly commitments during the summer based off your needs.
About: Growing up, pet sitting was my favorite job. I would spend summers taking care of pets. I've never had a house without pets from cats to dogs to birds to rabbits, we've had a happy and full household! I currently have 3 cats, Mo, Kiko, and Benny, and I couldn't ask for a better trio to spend my days with. I would love to give your pets the same love and care. I'm very in tune with reading animals and I will make sure they have the boundaries and comfort they need while you are away. I have a full time job that is flexible during the day to take care of your animals as needed. I enjoy being active and would love to spend time outside with your pets. While walking your dog, I would pick safe neighborhoods or trails, depending on what you would like. I am big on safety and comfort and I would make sure to keep your pup in a happy comfortable place while we enjoy some fresh air and exercise.
“Very kind and thorough with the visits… Hired her for a weekend I was out of state and it’s nice to know you don’t have to worry to much about your pup while you’re gone. Will definitely hire again in the future”

“Sherri was amazing with Iza! All the pictures that were sent, Iza had the best time with her! We were so grateful that she was able to help us last minute and also do a meet and greet to meet Iza first. We would highly recommend her to anyone and will be using her again in the future :)”

About: I’m a rising college sophomore with experience caring for dogs for family, friends, and neighbors. I’m responsible, active, flexible with scheduling, and genuinely enjoy spending time with animals. I’m also CPR certified and Red Cross babysitting certified, which has helped me build strong responsibility and communication skills. I’m comfortable with walking, feeding, playtime, and giving pets attention and care while owners are away. Pet care fits very well into my weekly routine because I work part-time, which gives me a flexible schedule. I have plenty of availability throughout the week for walks, drop-in visits, feeding, and playtime. I enjoy spending time with animals and can easily adjust my schedule to meet the needs of pets and their owners. I provide pets with a safe, loving, and attentive environment while following their usual routine as closely as possible. In a client’s home, I make sure pets are fed on schedule, have fresh water, receive plenty of exercise and playtime, and get lots of attention. I can also administer basic medications if instructions are provided and keep owners updated with photos and messages. I treat every pet as if they were my own, ensuring they feel comfortable, happy, and well cared for while their owners are away.
“Lindsay is wonderful! We are so happy to have found her, she takes such good care of the kitties and goes above and beyond with helping with household things as well!”

“Jill took care of my two cats while I was away for a week. She included lovely write ups and photos each visit. She also accommodated all of my varying requests and helped out around the house. 10/10 will book again!”

About: Combining my love for animals and the outdoors with photography. I live in a very green peaceful area close to downtown Glastonbury with lots of space for sniffs and walks, in close proximity to many trails we can explore. My schedule is flexible, currently am a full time student and M off for the summer which allows more time for structure with feeding, walking, hiking, and playtime. Will make sure your dog receives all the love , care , and attention they deserve when you are not available to them . 🐶
About: I have experience working with dogs of all sizes, breeds, and ages, and I truly enjoy getting to know each dog’s unique personality. Whether it’s a high-energy pup who loves long walks and playtime or a senior dog who needs a slower pace and a little extra care, I’m comfortable adapting to what they need most. I especially love working with energetic dogs and making sure they get the exercise, structure, and attention they thrive on. At the same time, I have a soft spot for senior dogs and understand how important patience, gentleness, and consistency are in helping them feel safe and supported. My goal is always to make pets feel comfortable, cared for, and happy while giving owners peace of mind knowing their dog is in good hands. As an elementary school teacher, my days are usually built around structure, consistency, and showing up reliably—and I bring that same mindset to pet care. During the summer, my schedule opens up significantly, which allows me to dedicate more time and flexibility to caring for pets in my community. Pet care fits really naturally into my daily routine right now. I’m available for walks, drop-ins, and extended care throughout the week, and I enjoy building my day around making sure each pet gets the attention, exercise, and consistency they need. It’s something I genuinely enjoy doing during my time off, and it’s been a great way to stay active and connected while doing work I care about. I always tailor my care based on each pet’s individual needs and the owner’s instructions. I know every pet has their own routine, preferences, and personality, so I make it a priority to follow directions closely—whether that’s feeding schedules, walk routines, medications, or specific behaviors to watch for. In a client’s home, I focus on keeping things as consistent and familiar as possible so pets feel comfortable and secure in their own environment. In my home, I create a calm, safe space and adjust based on the pet’s energy level and needs—whether that means lots of playtime or a quieter, more relaxed setting. Communication is really important to me, so I make sure to keep owners updated and reach out if anything seems off. My goal is always to provide care that feels seamless and gives both pets and owners peace of mind.
“I can’t recommend Nicole enough! She takes incredible care of my dog, goes above and beyond, treating her like her own. I get updates and many photos, my pup is happy and clearly loved by her. Nicole will stay over the allotted time to make sure my pup gets well taken care of. It’s such a relief knowing I’ve found someone reliable, trustworthy, and truly caring. She gives my dog treats and takes her on long walks and always makes sure to keep me updated every time she comes. I will be continuing to book with Nicole for any dog sitting needs I have, she is the best dog sitter and a very kind person as well, I am very grateful for her!! 🩷”

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
