“Laura was amazing! Great communication, friendly, clean and really took the time to comfort my skiddish cat while I was away. I will definitely be hiring her again! Cheers to Chester’s new friend❤️”

About: The best part of any given day for me is usually seeing a dog or cat. I’ve been recommended by friends and neighbors to take care of their lovable critters and figured I’d give Rover a try! I am currently working part time and have plenty of flexibility when it comes to pet care opportunities. I like to spend more time rather than less when it comes to lovable pets. I enjoy playing with pets if they are the playful type. If not, then I’m comfortable just being there with them. Sometimes they just don’t want to be alone. But if the zoomies kick in, I can keep up!
“Jillian was phenomenal from start to finish. I was at ease that my feline child was well-cared for, happy and comfortable while I was traveling. This is a priceless feeling - worry about my kitty's well-being can derail my enjoyment when i am away! Jillian handled the load of information i gave her like a pro and was able to put Cookie at ease and engage with her every day so that she had meaningful connection while I was away! I will use Jillian whenever I travel, she is a true cat whisperer! Very grateful 💓”

“Grace did an awesome job! I have the world’s shyest cat. Often sitters never see him. Grace is one of the rare humans my cat likes which is saying a lot. In addition to the cat, she gave me updates on my frogs and fish tanks. I highly recommend Grace and intend on using her again.”

“Rachel is a wonderful cat sitter. She is very kind and attends to the kitties needs and their well being. She endeavors to make the kitties feel as comfortable as possible while providing the opportunity for companionship, affection, and play. Our shy kitty finally came out of her shell in response to Rachels’s patient and calm manner. Rachel goes the extra mile to set our minds at ease while we are away, allowing us to enjoy time with our family, knowing our kitties are safe and well cared for. We recommend Rachel fully and will continue to reach out to her for future travel. Thank you Rachel!”

“Janelle provided care for my doodle and is exceptional. Lola enjoyed her visits and I felt completely at ease knowing my pet was well taken care of from a professional pet sitter. Janelle is very accommodating and easy to work with. Highly recommended and I will definitely continue to request her assistance in the future.”

“Lindsay checked in and fed our cat while we were out of town and was an excellent communicator. She provided detailed notes about the visit and some adorable pictures of our cat, too! Lindsay also did a quick walk around of the house and yard to make sure everything looked good- that reassurance was much appreciated! Looking forward to booking with Lindsay again.”

“Sherri was amazing with our two cats!! Provided timely check ins and assured us through adorable pictures that our cats were having a great time with her. Will use her again and would recommend!”

About: Combining my love for animals and the outdoors with photography. I live in a very green peaceful area close to downtown Glastonbury with lots of space for sniffs and walks, in close proximity to many trails we can explore. My schedule is flexible, currently am a full time student and M off for the summer which allows more time for structure with feeding, walking, hiking, and playtime. Will make sure your dog receives all the love , care , and attention they deserve when you are not available to them . 🐶
“Laura was super nice. She did a wonderful job, might be a cat whisper. We have one shy boy but he seemed to love her ! Got lots of photos while we were away! If we ever need help again , Laura will be our first call!”

“Tiarra was excellent with our pet. She was able to calm our dog during our time away. He had never been left alone in his life. This was a big deal!!!! Tiarra will definitely be my “go to” when we need services. She did an amazing job & we tipped 😊”

About: I have had animals of my own since I was 10 years old, growing up with both a dog and a cat (as well as hamsters, birds, and fish). I have experience taking care of pets of family and friends. I also have 7 years of veterinary medical experience working as a veterinary assistant and then a veterinary technician. I have just graduated Veterinary school and am taking some time off before starting my first job as a Veterinarian. Would love to spend some of this time caring for your pet! I graduated from school this summer and I am taking time off to spend with family and friends before moving for my first job! So, right now I have plenty of time to care for your furry friends! I have 7 years of veterinary medical experience and have graduated from veterinary school which has trained me in animal behavior. I know how to tell when an animal is happy, anxious, scared, sick, etc and I know how to react appropriately to these situations.
“Jannette and her partner is wonderful. I love the fact that they are always in communication about how my dog Venus is doing on a walk. They take great care of her.”

“Very kind and thorough with the visits… Hired her for a weekend I was out of state and it’s nice to know you don’t have to worry to much about your pup while you’re gone. Will definitely hire again in the future”

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Glastonbury. On Rover:

- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
