“Erica did a great job! Loved all the text updates and pics, especially when my indoor/outdoor cat decided to take a vacation as well and didn't come home for a few nights. She did everything I asked and a few extras too.”

“Laura is fantastic. She came through last minute for me when my usual walker was unavailable. I needed someone to check on my puppy in the middle of the day while I was at work. She and my puppy got along and she took a lot of great photos for her. We will definitely be repeat clients whenever we need someone in the future.”

“Jill was amazing! She made me feel a lot better about having to leave my kitten for a weekend. She took good care of him, and sent pictures of him playing and eating. She was very sweet to him, even if he's a bit of a menace.”

About: Hi! My name is Douglas, Doug for short. Currently a proud papa to a golden lab named Sunny, and a grey longhair cat named Remy. My best friend is a pug/chihuahua mix named Taz. I also had an old man chihuahua named Finn, and I’ll forever miss him. I feel like I speak dog, I know how to tailor my personality to meet the needs of any dog. Cliche to say but I am better with animals than with people. I am responsible, gentle, caring, and a big rule follower. I have pretty open availability throughout the week so I have lots of time to hang out with your dogs! Let me know what you need and I should be able to make it work! I have experience with crate training my dog so I am comfortable playing with your dog in the house or yard, and switching them to their crate if needed.

About: Hi there! My name is Ellie, and I’m a passionate animal lover with over a decade of hands-on experience caring for dogs of all breeds, sizes, and personalities. I have pups of my own, so I know how much trust it takes to let someone else care for your furry family member — and I treat every pet I meet with the same love, attention, and respect I give my own. Whether your dog needs a fun walk to burn off energy, a drop-in to check on meals and snuggles, or full-on overnight care, I’ve got you covered. I’m reliable, patient, and fully committed to making sure your pet feels safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. I can’t wait to meet your fur baby and give them the care they deserve! I currently work full-time during the day, but pet care is truly a passion of mine and a fulfilling part of my daily routine. I’m available for check-ins and walks in the early mornings before work and in the evenings after I get home. In some cases, I’m also able to swing by during my lunch break for a quick visit, depending on location and timing. I also offer overnight stays, which allows me to spend quality, uninterrupted time with your pet — perfect for dogs who need extra comfort or company while you’re away. While my weekday daytime availability is limited, I’m dependable, communicative, and always make sure your pet gets the attention and care they deserve when I’m with them! When your pet is in my care, their well-being is my top priority. I understand that every animal has their own unique needs, routines, and personalities — and I take the time to get to know them so I can provide care that makes them feel safe, seen, and loved. You can trust that I’ll treat your pet like one of my own, with patience, affection, and respect. I’m mindful, responsible, and always keep safety at the forefront — whether that’s making sure harnesses are secure, sticking to feeding instructions, or giving them their favorite toy at just the right moment. I believe animals know when someone truly cares for them — and I make it my mission to create a peaceful, loving environment where your pet can feel completely at ease while you’re away.

“This is my 2nd time l had Ethan stopped by. He is wonderful with both my dogs. I have one very large husky. The breed are very bratty and difficult, but Ethan has no problem. My smaller dog took to him immediately. She never does that.”

“After using the same sitter for 12+ years, I was a bit apprehensive about trying a new one! Laura put my mind at ease and things went very smoothly! I loved the pictures and updates! I highly recommend Laura and will use her again!”

“I can always rely on Danielle to respond quickly. She’s reliable and is a HUGE stress reliever knowing that my pup is being well taken care of. I’ve rebooked her numerous times now, and she has never disappointed”

About: I have had animals of my own since I was 10 years old, growing up with both a dog and a cat (as well as hamsters, birds, and fish). I have experience taking care of pets of family and friends. I also have 7 years of veterinary medical experience working as a veterinary assistant and then a veterinary technician. I have just graduated Veterinary school and am taking some time off before starting my first job as a Veterinarian. Would love to spend some of this time caring for your pet! I graduated from school this summer and I am taking time off to spend with family and friends before moving for my first job! So, right now I have plenty of time to care for your furry friends! I have 7 years of veterinary medical experience and have graduated from veterinary school which has trained me in animal behavior. I know how to tell when an animal is happy, anxious, scared, sick, etc and I know how to react appropriately to these situations.
“Absolutely loved all the photos and appreciated this visit so much. It was my first time using rover and it was so worth it. Will definitely be continuing with Samantha!!”

“Jannette and her partner is wonderful. I love the fact that they are always in communication about how my dog Venus is doing on a walk. They take great care of her.”

“Brooke was so kind and attentive to my kitties. My babies were well cared for. It was nice to get daily updates and photos. Brooke is reliable, accommodating and flexible.”

About: I’ve never had a dog of my own, although I have always wanted to! I’ve had cats all my life and have taken care of them for as long as I can remember. I have experience with helping out with friends’ dogs, and I’m a big animal lover! I am a graduate student looking to make a little extra on the weekends by taking care of your babies! I’m typically unavailable during the week, but we can always chat about any other days you may need help. I will always do my best to ensure safety for your pets! I’ll stay away from busy roads and other animals while on walks, while making sure that they get enough exercise!
“I can’t recommend Nicole enough! She takes incredible care of my dog, goes above and beyond, treating her like her own. I get updates and many photos, my pup is happy and clearly loved by her. Nicole will stay over the allotted time to make sure my pup gets well taken care of. It’s such a relief knowing I’ve found someone reliable, trustworthy, and truly caring. She gives my dog treats and takes her on long walks and always makes sure to keep me updated every time she comes. I will be continuing to book with Nicole for any dog sitting needs I have, she is the best dog sitter and a very kind person as well, I am very grateful for her!! 🩷”

“I would definitely recommend Josh. He was great with my pup. Always on time and extremely communicative about the visits and how my dog was doing. Always sending lots of photos. 10/10”

“Elyse is welcomed back any time I need a dependable caretaker for my two dogs. She stayed in touch after the visits and let me know how the two were. I appreciated that she suggested a pre visit to meet the “kids” and go over details.”

About: I have had experience with pets since a young age. I had dogs and cats growing up. The last dog my family had while I was in high school was a Bassett Hound whom I loved. She had such a great personality. Currently, I do not have any dogs, not out of desire, but because I don't feel I am home enough to be able to care for them. Therefore, I have 2 cats! In order for me to get my dog "fixe" on a regular basis, lol, I have cared for my friends and family's dogs on a regular basis for the last 10 years. I have done overnight visits for my sister-in-law's dog, which is a King Charles Cavalier and took care of my friend's dogs, both a Dachshund and an Australian Shepherd during the day while she was at work. Currently I have a friend and neighbor whom I take her dog out for walks on a regular basis while she's at work. I am currently working part time as I have my own craft business.I felt that interactions with pets would be a great part time position that would fit nicely into my schedule. I feel that I am a mature individual who can take direction very well from your instructions. Whatever your pet needs I am happy to provide while you are away.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Rocky Hill
Jill is truly the best pet sitter we have ever used. We went to Maine for a 8 days, 7 nights and she gave our two one-year-old cats the best love and care. She was a great communicator and went above and beyond every time. She even let us know when our fridge was having an issue after a power outage in the area. Will 100% be booking Jill again!

Lila did an exceptional job watching my two cats for a week. I never had any doubts that they were not being well taken care of. She also went above and beyond with making sure any and all messes were cleaned up. I highly recommend her for any pet or home sitting.

Tristen was great with my cat Sheddy. She tends to be on the shy side and doesn’t come out for strangers. Tristen was super patient with her and always managed to get a picture of her. I felt at ease knowing Sheddy was in good hands. I will definitely reschedule with Tristen for my next vacation!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of September 2026, there are 1,300 sitters on Rover offering Cat Sitting across Rocky Hill. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Rocky Hill. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
