“We felt very comfortable leaving our Sheltie Winston with Brittney (and family!) and the daily updates and pics were great so we never worried while away. Definitely will use her service again!”

“Dexter had an amazing time with Liz! We were a bit apprehensive because he's a little guy who can be nervous around larger dogs, and Liz was watching 2 big friendly dogs the same weekend. Luckily, Liz coordinated a meet and greet with all 3 dogs beforehand and it went great! We got lots of happy pics of Dexter while we were away, and were so happy that he obviously got as much attention as he did. Needless to say, Dexter came back happy and healthy. We definitely hope Liz is free next time we need a dog sitter, and Dexter hopes so too.”

“We are so grateful for the amazing care you gave our dog! From the very beginning, Careen were kind, reliable, and attentive to every detail. It gave us great peace of mind knowing our dog was in such loving hands. We could tell our dog was happy, comfortable, and well cared for throughout the stay. Thank you for treating our pet like family — we highly recommend your dog care service to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and compassionate!”

“Jennifer is a great pet sitter. She did an outstanding job with my Nala. She was very responsive with my messages and sent many updates of Nala during her short stay. Nala had a great time and she always looked happy in the videos. We will definitely be back in the future. I totally recommend Jennifer.”

“My dogs are always well cared-for and happy when they stay with Lisa! She is communicative and flexible, and sends photos. Convenient location in quiet neighborhood with private yard. Thanks!”

“My dog, Atticus, age 2, had his first full day with Margaret a few days ago. He was very well taken care of including a couple of walks. He was happy to play fetch and take naps after walking. It was easy to tell by his face and composure that he had a great day...there was no visible stress when he returned home. Another dependable companion 'star' in his young life when I am not around! Many thanks, M :)”

“Dash had a wonderful week long stay at Renata’s home. Plenty of exercise and outdoor time on their beautiful property on the lake. Would absolutely trust to take care of our dog again in the future. Highly recommend!”

“Sherry has sat for my dog a couple of times in her home and walked my dog as well. She is very clearly a dog person. Sherry is very thorough with making sure she knows your dogs schedule and care needs and sends updates while you’re gone. I will definitely use Sherry again in the future!”

“Melissa was very easy to deal with and our dog Sammy seems to have had a great time with her. Melissa gave us several updates on Sammy and sent us lots of pictures of her adventures. I would definitely recommend Melissa to anyone.”

“We’ve used a handful of sitters on rover and Angela and Tommy are the best. They have an awesome big yard, playful friendly pups, and give lots of love to our fur baby. Thankful to have a go to home for when we have to travel.”

“Rosa was great with Pippin! She was super nice and updated us constantly with videos and pictures of our little guy! He came back happy and tired, always a plus. Would definitely recommend boarding with Rosa and will reach out to her again!”

“Rocky had a great stay with Kevin and Brian! He came home nice and tired from all his playing and he was cared for well! This was our second time with Kevin and Brian and we recommend them for any of your fur babies!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Glastonbury
Kimberly took great care of Samantha during her stay. She was kind, communicative, and patient, especially as Samantha needed some time to adjust. She kept us informed and handled the situation with professionalism and understanding. We truly appreciate the care she provided and her flexibility throughout everything. Thank you again, Kimberly!

Jacqueline was wonderful from start to finish! She was very communicative, sent pictures, took long walks and even did a little training with our 9 month old pup! Was so happy to know our dog was in such wonderful, caring hands, and our dog even made friends with her dogs while she was there and got to go on pack walks. She also got a crate that was the right size for her since we didn’t have a portable one! Would recommend to anyone, and we’ll be using her again for sure!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CT ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
