“Katie watched our dog, who is almost 2, for a couple of nights recently. I was very comfortable dropping him off and leaving him with her and her family. I love the at home experience she gave him, as opposed to kennels. Our dog is on special food and she took great care to make sure he didn’t get into her pets’ food. We will definitely use Katie again to take care of Linus.”

“Dyan was wonderful with Bluey and sent updates and photos!! I would definitely recommend her for caring for your dog and I look forward to having her watch Bluey again!!”

About: Ive been a dog owner all my life and have pet sat for many family and friends. Young or old, I love dogs and am ready to take care of your furry companion like they were one of my own. I am currently pet sitting full time, so I can watch your pet throughout the week or weekends as needed. Just walks are available throughout the day too. I have a fenced in back yard, as well as a medium sized crate for crating if needed. I currently don't have any pets of my own, but plenty of toys an activities for a fun doggy day! I also live close by a few parks and dog parks that can provide a nice field trip.

“Nancy was amazing! I think we hit the jackpot having her as our first sitter using the app. She was diligent, caring, responsive, and such a warm spirit. I’d recommend her to anyone seeking a sitter.”

About: I’ve been surrounded by dogs my entire life, and I currently have a dog back in Costa Rica who has a special condition and uses a wheelchair. Caring for him has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I’ve learned to adapt to his unique needs and rhythm, provide extra support when necessary, and ensure he feels safe, comfortable, and loved at all times. This experience has taught me patience, creativity, and a deep understanding of how every pet has their own personality and pace. From energetic pups to those with special needs, I know how to adjust activities, offer affection, and create a stress-free, happy environment. My goal is always to make each dog feel valued, cared for, and truly at home while in my care. Hi! I’m available throughout the week, depending on the service you need. I usually offer dog walks from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM, and I’m flexible to adjust to your schedule whenever possible. My goal is to make sure your pet feels safe, happy, and well cared for. Feel free to message me so we can discuss details and find a plan that works for both of us. 🐾 I live in an apartment, with a small space, however the complex has a dog park and a large green area. It is a calm and quiet place
“It was our first time leaving our puppy Misha with a sitter for 2 nights, and we are so grateful to Catherina for her thoughtful care. She was very organized, responded promptly to my messages, and sent photos of Misha at home and during walks. She gave Misha his prescription medication on time, and he had fun playing with Catherina's puppies. We are so happy with Cat's great care, and highly recommend her.”

“Luna had a great time at Wendy’s house. Always enjoys the other dogs. Wendy also accommodated us at the last minute due to a other Rover sitter cancelling. We really appreciate Wendy and will definitely use her again. Thank you!”

“We have now had Jackie dog sit Tillie 3 times -this time being the longest stay (2weeks). Jackie was once again, an awesome caretaker - excellent communication, many photos and kept Tillie busy by taking her for walks, bringing her to parks to run around and playing in their home. Just seeing Tillie so excited to see Jackie at drop off and looking forward to playing with Sushi made us confident that Tillie was comfortable going to their home.”

“Mylinda is FANTASTIC!!! I immediately felt comfortable leaving my dog in her hands. She sent me lots of photos of their walks together. When I picked him up after a weekend away he was super happy. I'll most definitely have Mylinda watch my dog when I'm away in a couple of months. I would give her more 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟”

“This was our first time leaving our puppy with a sitter’ and we were a bit nervous but Jennifer and her lovely family took such a great care of our 3 month old puppy Juno! Her reliability and communication by sharing videos of Juno made the whole experience stress free for our family. I would highly recommend Jennifer and would chose her service again in the future for Juno!”

“If you need a pet sitter - Pauline is your girl!! I can’t thank her enough for hosting my two dogs in her home for the night. I received photos & an update within 30 minutes of dropping them off - & without having to check in myself - which I absolutely loved & appreciated. I then received updates all throughout the day which is exactly what I needed! She was VERY attentive to the dogs, asked about/followed their normal routine & updated me if she sensed anything was wrong or if the dogs seemed uncomfortable (one of them was exhibiting signs of an ear infection). I know my dogs were well taken care of and enjoyed their stay. Overall, I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter and we are so very grateful to Pauline!!!”

About: Um. Let’s see I have 3 dogs of my own and I know how unsettling it is to trust your babies with strangers who don’t understand them. Like what do you mean you don’t wrestle them down with kisses and tickles. You’re a monster. 🤷🏽♂️ I start my day at 4 am so my dogs are up pretty early. I let them out in the yard when I start the car for the gym, when I return we go on our breakfast walk, come home eat and then we go out back before I log in for the day. Most days my guys get 3-4 walks because it helps me with a fitness routine, going outside and clearing my head since I work remote. Our pets have full access to our home; however, during the day the are normally in the office with me because I can open the side door and window. Their crates and beds are also in there so anyone staying with us would most likely be in there; If we’re not outside we’re on the porch, back deck or walking.
“Our two dogs spent five days with Cruz. They came home happy, calm and healthy. No side effects from being away from us. It was obvious they felt safe and had great care.”

“Trenton was wonderful. It was the first time leaving my large breed baby with a sitter and he was patient a d answered all my questions. I received daily updates, pictures, and videos. First time leaving my cane corso with someone else. I would not hesitate to call on him again”

“Molly is terrific! She was super understanding and accommodating of our quirky pittie and kept us updated with photos throughout her stay. She was quick to understand our pup's personality and was eager to make sure she was happy and comfortable. Would definitely book again!”

“I absolutely recommend that Kristina takes care of your dog(s) because that is what she does, she cares for them. Jazmine has stayed with Kristina twice now. We have had nothing but great interactions and Jazmine has come home in a relaxed state each time! It is so wonderful to know that Kristina emits such a calm and relaxed energy while we are away from the most vital piece to our family, our fur-baby! Not only is Kristina wonderful with Jazmine but she is flexible and so thoughtful. We missed our connecting flight and came home a day later than expected. Kristina was so accommodating and did not mind keeping Jazmine one extra night. Also, Jazmine has had many food allergies in the past and Kristina was incredibly aware. She had texted me asking if the treats that she made (especially for Jazmine) would be acceptable to her diet. The treats we perfect and she sent us home with the recipe and the remaining treats. Kristina is a gem and a great find for a dog sitter!”

“We have a 10 month old rescue and were looking for a family with multiple dogs to keep our pup entertained and engaged for our first time leaving him for over a week. Kristin is the perfect fit! She is patient and accommodating and very communicative. Our dog thrived in her care and yours will too. We hope she is available next time we go out of town.”

This was more difficult than I expected. But the ease LeAndra took off my mind was very much appreciated. This was my first time leaving my “Heart” with anyone outside of immediate family and I was stressed. I know how my dog is and even tho he’s a cute little cuddler he’s a frenchie and can be stubborn. I got updates and pictures that made me feel a little better knowing he’s doing good, the communication flowed and I would highly recommend her.

Such a great Sitter. So kind and punctual. Very good with dogs and knows what she’s doing. Kept open communication throughout the stay and I was able to relax knowing my baby was in great hands! 10 out of 10 if you’re looking for someone whose loving to dogs & knows what they’re doing Nevaeh is the person! I will definitely be keeping her as my preferred sitter.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CT ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
