“Katie and her family were AMAZING!! We needed a last minute sitter and they couldn’t have taken better care of our girl. We got multiple updates and lots of pictures which put us at ease. Katie’s girls were super cute with Bear and she enjoyed all of the extra pets and attention. We’d 100% recommend Katie to anyone and look forward to having her watch Bear again in the future.”

“My dog had a great time staying with MJ and her family. I wasn’t worried about him while he was with them and they were great at sending photos and keeping me updated. I would definitely book with them again!”

“We booked Wendy at the last minute and she was great taking care of our two dogs. She took very good care of our older Shiba and our puppy Husky. They were both very clean and happy when we picked them up. Would definitely recommend her for anyone looking for a pet sitter.”

“Karina and her husband Jared are fantastic! This was our second time having them watch our dog, Nova, while we were away on vacation. Nova ends up getting her own vacation when staying at Karina & Jared's house! They always take such good care of Nova and Karina always gives us updates on Nova twice a day! We are so grateful that we found such amazing people to care for our pup when we are away! We (especially Nova) look forward to seeing Karina and Jared again soon! Thank you both so much for always being there and taking such amazing care of our Nova!! 10/10 recommendation!”

“My buddy seemed very happy during his visit He also adjusted very easily when he got home very relaxed. A great experience for him I feel He will go there next time when needed.”

“My dog, Atticus, age 2, had his first full day with Margaret a few days ago. He was very well taken care of including a couple of walks. He was happy to play fetch and take naps after walking. It was easy to tell by his face and composure that he had a great day...there was no visible stress when he returned home. Another dependable companion 'star' in his young life when I am not around! Many thanks, M :)”

“Steve and Deb are amazing! Our pup had the best time. They kept her active and treated her like one of the family, just like at home. I received constant picture updates and messages about how she was doing. We are already booking a return stay. Avry came home happy and tired.”

“Dash had a wonderful week long stay at Renata’s home. Plenty of exercise and outdoor time on their beautiful property on the lake. Would absolutely trust to take care of our dog again in the future. Highly recommend!”

I have a very flexible schedule which allows me to be able to offer my services at anytime anyday. I work part time and can create my own schedule. About: Dogs have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, and caring for them is something I genuinely love. I’m a stay-at-home mom, so I have plenty of time to give your dog the attention, companionship, and affection they deserve while you’re away. We currently have a sweet 9-year-old small dog who has been part of my life since puppyhood. I personally raised and potty-trained her, so I understand the patience, consistency, and care that goes into helping a dog feel safe and comfortable in a new environment. I’ve also cared for many of my friends’ and neighbors’ dogs over the years. When your dog stays with me, they won’t simply be “boarded”—they’ll be welcomed into a loving home. From the moment they arrive, I’ll treat them like one of my own, with lots of love, attention, playtime, and companionship. I’m dependable, responsible, and will make your dog’s comfort and happiness a priority. I know how hard it can be to leave your pet with someone else, and my goal is to give you peace of mind knowing your dog is being cared for, loved, and treated like family while you’re away. I’m a stay-at-home mom, so I have plenty of time to give your dog the attention, companionship, and affection they deserve while you’re away. As a result, my schedule is quite flexible to meet the needs of you and your fur baby I have a very large yard and a 9 year old gentle, sweet dog. Although I have a large yard, I always keep my dog leashed and I would do the same for yours to ensure safety. My home is on a quiet cul-de-sac in a private neighborhood that is perfect for walks.

I'Il always follow your instructions carefully and keep you updated with photos and messages, so you can have peace of mind while you're away ❤️ I’m a full-time college student, and most of my classes are online, so I have a flexible schedule and plenty of time to give your pet the attention they deserve. I enjoy spending time with animals, whether that’s going for walks, playing, or just keeping them company. I’ll make sure your pet feels loved, comfortable, and well cared for while you’re away. Although I don’t have a fenced yard, I live in a quiet, dog-friendly neighborhood with great walking areas. Dogs receive regular walks, potty breaks, playtime, and lots of attention throughout the day.

Sonya was so great with my dog, Zelda. She sent photos of Zelda doing all her favorite things, ball, walkies, and cuddling, and was honest about when she was nervous and when she chilled out. She was flexible about a small medical issue that came up right before Zelda's stay, which really helped me enjoy my trip away. Highly recommend!

Chris is great! I was worried bc my 1 year old golden retriever has tons of energy and sometimes other dogs have a issue with that but Chris send me quite a few pics over the weekend and said my baby did great with the pack! She looked very happy…love the dogs have freedom around his house and the big yard! I definitely recommend!!

Chelsea was so wonderful and accommodating. I needed a last minute dog sitter for the holiday weekend and she able to take Stanley. She was super attentive and took care of Stanley like he was her own dog! She sent so many great pictures and videos during my trip as well, and he looked so happy. I would definitely recommend her to anyone and we will be using her again for our upcoming travels!

Such a great Sitter. So kind and punctual. Very good with dogs and knows what she’s doing. Kept open communication throughout the stay and I was able to relax knowing my baby was in great hands! 10 out of 10 if you’re looking for someone whose loving to dogs & knows what they’re doing Nevaeh is the person! I will definitely be keeping her as my preferred sitter.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CT ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
