“Tina and Jordan took incredible care of our dog, Rae. As a nervous pet parent, I was so grateful for the frequent photo and video updates—they truly gave me peace of mind while we were away. From our very first meeting, I knew Rae was in the right hands, and now that she’s stayed with them, I honestly can't recommend them enough. They listened to all of my concerns, eased my worries, and were wonderfully flexible when our travel plans changed a bit.”

“I would definitely use Araceli again in the future! She sent me photos while I was away, and kept me up to date with how my baby was doing. My dog seemed happy with her.”

“Great first experience! Thanks Wendy for being so responsive. Dog friendly home and yard. This was one of the first experiences our rescue dog had with another dog, and all went well. We will definitely book again!”

“This was our third booking with Triba and our dog’s first overnight stay - it’s so wonderful to have a sitter who we really trust & who our dog absolutely adores!”

“Heather was fantastic! I needed a last minute booking and she and her family were superb. My pup came home so happy and content!! Thank you!! Would recommend Heather to everyone.”

“Mylinda was a great dog sitter for Dino and Toby! Will definitely be a returning customer. Mylinda did a great job keeping in contact with me throughout the weekend and keeping me updated about the dogs!”

“Laura was great with our pups! She accommodated our pick up and drop off times and sent lots pic pictures and videos. Her house is very nice and she has a big backyard on a lake. My dogs were so happy and at home with her.”

About: Hi! I’m a lifelong dog lover with 10 years of experience caring for dogs of all breeds, sizes, personalities, and energy levels. From playful Goldendoodles to tiny Yorkies, I’ve had the opportunity to care for so many wonderful dogs over the years, and I truly love getting to know each one’s unique personality. I also have plenty of experience as a dog owner. I had a Yorkie for about 5 years, a Maltese who was part of my family for 15 years, and I currently have a mixed-breed pup who has been part of our family for about 2 years. Being around dogs has always been a huge part of my life, and I honestly can’t imagine it any other way! Over the years, I’ve cared for dogs who are calm and happy to lounge around, as well as high-energy pups who need lots of playtime, attention, and exercise. I’m comfortable adapting to each dog’s individual routine, personality, and needs. When your dog is in my care, they’ll be treated like one of my own—with plenty of love, attention, patience, and care. My goal is for both you and your pup to feel completely comfortable and confident while they’re with me. 🐾❤️ I’m a stay-at-home mom, which gives me a very flexible and open schedule for pet care. I’m also a part-time nursing student, but my school schedule is something I plan around, so I’m able to dedicate plenty of time and attention to the pets in my care. I’m happy to work with your pet’s usual routine and will do my best to accommodate different schedules and needs. I’m also available for walks, drop-ins, daycare, boarding, and house sitting depending on my availability. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I understand how difficult it can be to leave your pets with someone else, so I want you to feel completely confident that they’re in good hands. I treat every dog in my care like they’re part of my own family and make sure they receive plenty of supervision, attention, exercise, and affection. I’m also happy to follow your instructions regarding feeding, medications, routines, and anything else that helps your pet feel comfortable and at home.
“Carmela was super nice with my elder dog. My chihuahua suffered violence from a teenager and now his behavior is not the best. Carmela was so comprehensive and knew how to manage him to keep him feel safe in her home. I am so thankful that she received my baby in her home for the time I had to travel.”

“We highly recommend Ricky for your pet-sitting needs! He took great care of our older Yorkie. He provided daily updates and feedback, along with photos. The feeding instructions and medication were followed without any issues, and our little one returned happy and healthy. Excellent stay :-)”

“If you need a pet sitter - Pauline is your girl!! I can’t thank her enough for hosting my two dogs in her home for the night. I received photos & an update within 30 minutes of dropping them off - & without having to check in myself - which I absolutely loved & appreciated. I then received updates all throughout the day which is exactly what I needed! She was VERY attentive to the dogs, asked about/followed their normal routine & updated me if she sensed anything was wrong or if the dogs seemed uncomfortable (one of them was exhibiting signs of an ear infection). I know my dogs were well taken care of and enjoyed their stay. Overall, I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter and we are so very grateful to Pauline!!!”

“Katie and her family took incredible care of my little fur baby. It was the first time that Bodhi was left with anyone but family and Katie took incredible care of him. I would definitely use Katie again.”

“Kaylyn took great care of Maggie while we were away for more than 2 weeks. She sent us Maggie’s pictures almost daily which truly helped to assure that Maggie was happy and well cared for. Kaylyn and her family were also very understanding when our flight delay required us to to postpone the time to pick up Maggie. Kaylyn, thank you very much for caring for Maggie.”

“Wow! What an incredible experience with Nancy and Steve! Our dog was born blind so we are very cautious about who we trust her with. We could not be more pleased with Nancy and Steve! They followed all our safety requests and instructions to the letter and additionally, spoiled our dog rotten! We understand now what people meant when they said this was like sending their dog to stay with his or her doting grandparents. Our dog was taken on multiple long walks daily and treated like royalty while in Nancy's care. We received many pictures and videos and updates every day and it was very clear our dog was very happy and safe! Nancy even played her optional brain games with her and cooked her chicken and rice just 'cause. If you have a special needs or elderly dog, Nancy's the lady for you! And if you don't, she's still the lady for you! We can't thank you enough, Nancy and Steve!!”

“We are so grateful for the amazing care you gave our dog! From the very beginning, Careen were kind, reliable, and attentive to every detail. It gave us great peace of mind knowing our dog was in such loving hands. We could tell our dog was happy, comfortable, and well cared for throughout the stay. Thank you for treating our pet like family — we highly recommend your dog care service to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and compassionate!”

“Durango had such a great time with Steve and his family while we were gone. It was so great to get pictures throughout the weekend of how much fun he was having too. Much easier going out of town when you know someone is taking good care of your fur babies! Thanks again!”

“I am so grateful we found Kristin :) Second visit for our golden, Sunny. While we were away Kristin sent pictures so we could see Sunny was so happy -- hiking, playing, and just snuggling...that just put us so much at ease. Sunny also comes home cleaner than when we left her which is no easy task! :) I think we have to leave Sunny with Kristin and Kaia more often because she clearly misses them when she comes home! Thank you for everything, Kristin (and Kaia!)”

Sabrina was absolutely wonderful—we can’t recommend her highly enough. She took incredible care of our pups, including our elderly dog who required extra attention (and some cleanup!), and handled everything with patience and kindness. She kept us updated regularly with messages and photos, which gave us great peace of mind. We’re so grateful to Sabrina and her family for taking such loving care of Ollie and Remy!

Vanessa was amazing with our little guy — she was so communicative throughout the whole stay, sending lots of photos and videos. She also has three dogs that were all great with our super high energy puppy. She was has so much love for animals and that totally came through with her care for our puppy!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CT ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
