“This was Milo’s first time spending a night at Eric’s house. He had a wonderful time! Eric, his wife and mother-in-law were all so great to Milo. He will be very excited the next time he goes back!”

“I unconditionally and without reservation recommend Tyler for dog boarding. Tyler was excellent with my 7-yrs old female Australian Cobberdog, Abby (AND with her nervous parent, me). Abby has not ever been boarded prior to this 14-days boarding. Abby is quite shy when first meeting people. A week prior to the boarding, I visited Tyler in the front yard of his house and after Abby checked him out, she was wagging her tail, licking his hand and then snuggled up against him inviting him to pet her. During the 2-weeks boarding, Tyler was attentive to Abby's needs for reassurance which helped her to adjust to his house, his girlfriend, and their two dogs. Abby found a place for herself on his kitchen breakfast booth seat. Tyler gave Abby her required daily medication, fluoxetine. Tyler reported Abby's status daily with a picture. He used treats appropriately. Tyler even cooked Abby plain chicken at the beginning of the 2-wks boarding to help her to eat. In sum, Tyler has a lot of knowledge about dogs- training, exercise, diet, and boarding. I will be comfortable to leave Abby with him again, as soon as late October for another 2 weeks when I'm off to New Zealand for a biking tour.”

“Triba is the best thing that could happen with a super worried cat mom, she arranged our video calls while I was away. She loved her like her own, she is definitely becoming her foster mom permanently ?”

“Nancy and Steve are fantastic!!!!!! Took care of my Yorkie that has never stayed with anyone other than myself . From the start I was comfortable with her staying with them . They took her for many walks and paid extra attention to her making her part of there home . Sending many updates thru out the stay making the process easier. I would diffenently let my Yorkie stay with them again and highly recommend. Thank You!!!!!!!”

“Anita and Ramesh were so kind and communicative throughout our pup’s 9 day stay. We were a little nervous as this was our first stay with them, but they set us at ease with plenty of pics and vids daily. Will be glad to work with them again in the future!”

“Christle was wonderful with my 2 dogs! She kept them busy and happy during their stay. She sent pictures and updates throughout their stay and was always quick to respond. My dogs will be staying with her again in the future.”

“After our regular dog sitter (a family member) fell through I reached out to Vanessa last minute. She was incredibly accommodating and agreed to take Luna! I am so happy to have found her because Luna had the best time! Vanessa sent tons of videos and photos and kept me up to date on Luna’s adventures as she took walks and played with their other pups! We don’t leave Luna with anyone but family but I’m happy that we were in a bind - otherwise Luna wouldn’t have had such a fantastic weekend! I will definitely be calling on Vanessa again! I highly recommend her - you and your fur baby won’t be disappointed!”

“Laura and fam were amazing in every way! So attentive and loving, and great communication! They were also very understanding when we were late! We will definitely book with them again!!”

“Tyler was great with our dog! My kids missed her while we were away, and he was able to send us pictures every other day which we greatly appreciated. As long as his calendar is open when we need him, he's our first choice.”

“Debra was extremely patient and kind to Poncho who has non-aggressive fearful tendencies towards other people and dogs. Debra called, sent texts and pictures to update me on how things were going. She went out of her way to make Poncho as comfortable as he would allow himself to be. Max is also the sweetest! Could not have asked for more for Poncho’s stay.”

“We booked Wendy at the last minute and she was great taking care of our two dogs. She took very good care of our older Shiba and our puppy Husky. They were both very clean and happy when we picked them up. Would definitely recommend her for anyone looking for a pet sitter.”

“Anagha sent frequent updates about our puppy and made sure to welcome her into her family’s Christmas festivities. We are grateful for her help and will definitely come back when we are in the area!”

“Briana (and her dog loving family!) took great care of our 2 pugs who had never been to a pet sitter before. They are little terrors (young, hyper, still potty training) and she took it in stride and loved on them anyway. Her condo complex is beautiful and her place is very tidy and clean. She was very flexible with our drop-off/pick-up hours coming from out of town. Would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone! <3”

“James took care of Oreo for 2 weeks during the holidays, he was always responsive to messages and send pictures every couple of days! Definitely would recommend! Thanks for all the help”

Karen was amazing with my dog, Charlie! She kept me updated with frequent photos and messages, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. She took Charlie swimming, made sure she got plenty of walks and exercise, and treated her like one of her own. Charlie also had a great time playing with her dog, Happy. I highly recommend Karen to anyone looking for a caring, reliable, and attentive dog sitter! 🐾

Kasey and her family took wonderful care of my dog while I was on vacation. I knew he was in good hands and out of the chaotic environment of a kennel, which gave me peace of mind while away. I would definitely recommend Kasey for pet sitting and would have her pet sit my dog again. She even sent me pictures and updates every couple days too, which was much appreciated! Thank you again, Kasey!

Sabrina was absolutely wonderful—we can’t recommend her highly enough. She took incredible care of our pups, including our elderly dog who required extra attention (and some cleanup!), and handled everything with patience and kindness. She kept us updated regularly with messages and photos, which gave us great peace of mind. We’re so grateful to Sabrina and her family for taking such loving care of Ollie and Remy!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CT ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
