“Didn’t get to meet Inam but Jennifer was amazing with my Ralphie! She’s very patient and kind, all the good qualities needed to take great care of your pets. They sent pictures and updates almost every day which was much appreciated. Looked like my pup had a lot of fun. I’ll definitely be using their services again!”

“Mylinda is FANTASTIC!!! I immediately felt comfortable leaving my dog in her hands. She sent me lots of photos of their walks together. When I picked him up after a weekend away he was super happy. I'll most definitely have Mylinda watch my dog when I'm away in a couple of months. I would give her more 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟”

“Christle was wonderful! Our 3 dogs were well cared for, we appreciated her sending a picture and letting us know they were all happy! We will definitely be booking with her again!”

“Careen was wonderful with our senior dog and he loved her just as much as she loved him! She gave him lots of love and attention- I could tell he was very well cared for while we were away. We got lots of pictures and updates so I was completely at ease. We can’t wait to have Careen watch Shadow again!”

About: I grew up with dogs and cats, and for the last 6.5 years, I’ve had the pleasure of raising my own fur child, Melli Rose. She’s a black lab (my favorite breed) and is the chillest girl to ever exist. She’s great with other animals. I recently got engaged and am looking to make a bit of money on the side to help pay for the wedding along with getting to meet new pets! I work on a hybrid schedule—3 days remote, 2 days in the office. When I’m remote, I take my dog on multiple walks a day and would love to have yours join! I firmly believe pets are royalty and deserve to be treated as such. Nothing I do could ever repay them for their unwavering loyalty and unconditional love, but I’ll spend the rest of my repaying them with my love and affection.
“Karen was amazing with my dog, Charlie! She kept me updated with frequent photos and messages, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. She took Charlie swimming, made sure she got plenty of walks and exercise, and treated her like one of her own. Charlie also had a great time playing with her dog, Happy. I highly recommend Karen to anyone looking for a caring, reliable, and attentive dog sitter! 🐾”

“Noel and his family were absolutely incredible! With two senior dogs, one of them having recent health challenges, we had a few big asks with medication administration and attentiveness. Noel, his wife, and his son took great care of our pups and updated us thoroughly throughout the weekend to give us peace of mind. We’re so grateful!!”

“After our regular dog sitter (a family member) fell through I reached out to Vanessa last minute. She was incredibly accommodating and agreed to take Luna! I am so happy to have found her because Luna had the best time! Vanessa sent tons of videos and photos and kept me up to date on Luna’s adventures as she took walks and played with their other pups! We don’t leave Luna with anyone but family but I’m happy that we were in a bind - otherwise Luna wouldn’t have had such a fantastic weekend! I will definitely be calling on Vanessa again! I highly recommend her - you and your fur baby won’t be disappointed!”

“Astro came back looking as happy as ever, and I appreciate the fact that he let him play with other dogs. Very friendly! If need be, I will definitely be booking with him again!”

“This was the first time we left our dog for an extended stay. Kaylyn was just as patient with us as first time “parents” as she was with our dog who needed a little extra TLC. We would definitely do this again!”

“First time leaving my baby girls and Nazim made the experience so relaxing and comforting. Extremely accommodating, even took in our last minute request. Excellent communication. We even received pictures of our girls lounging, going for walks and playing in his fence in yard. What an incredible experience through and through. 5 stars for sure. Will be leaving my baby girls with Nazim when in the area. All the best.”

About: I grew up taking care of my dog Waggles for 15 years. Have had other dogs and have taken care of friends dogs as well. Could help during the week and on weekends anytime. Happy to walk, care for and house pets overnight. Lots of love for cats and dogs. Our last cat was an indoor cat, but we have had outdoor ones as well. Happy to walk and play with dogs inside and out.
“Chris was phenomenal - communicated regularly with pics of how my sweet boy was doing, took him for walks and I could tell my pup had a great time. Would definitely recommend, and will certainly board again!”

“Absolutely wonderful! She was so great with Ellie and when our original flight was canceled she was completely open to watching her longer in order to allow us peace of mind while traveling. The update pictures and videos made it clear Ellie enjoyed her stay.”

“Our dog Skye is so happy to be dropped off at Wendy’s and exhausted when we pick her up. We love receiving updates and videos while we’re away too. Total peace of mind!”

“James and his family were absolutely amazing! We needed last-minute care for our girl after deciding to take a quick overnight trip, and James came through for us in a big way. I sent the booking request just three hours before we needed care, and he responded almost immediately. From the start, James was kind, reliable, and incredibly accommodating. It was clear right away how much he genuinely cares for animals and how dedicated he is to making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for. We especially loved all the pictures and updates he sent, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. Knowing our girl was in such great hands made the whole experience stress-free. We couldn’t be happier and will absolutely be booking with James again. Highly recommend!”

About: I love pets, they are the cutest addition to our lives. I have a dog of my own, she is 2 1/2 years old, very playful and friendly. I have had pets since childhood and love taking care of them, we have a house and a fenced yard, hence your pup is safe to play outdoors whenever they want. They are allowed on furniture too. Will love to take care of your precious little baby 😊 I work from home few times a week and my mom stays at home full time, so someone is always there to play with your pups and to take care of them. I have a fenced yard so they are safe when playing outdoors, I can take them on walks weather permitting, if they like to sleep in their crate they can do so too, potty breaks according to their schedule and have fun indoors. Kasey and her family took wonderful care of my dog while I was on vacation. I knew he was in good hands and out of the chaotic environment of a kennel, which gave me peace of mind while away. I would definitely recommend Kasey for pet sitting and would have her pet sit my dog again. She even sent me pictures and updates every couple days too, which was much appreciated! Thank you again, Kasey!

Sabrina was absolutely wonderful—we can’t recommend her highly enough. She took incredible care of our pups, including our elderly dog who required extra attention (and some cleanup!), and handled everything with patience and kindness. She kept us updated regularly with messages and photos, which gave us great peace of mind. We’re so grateful to Sabrina and her family for taking such loving care of Ollie and Remy!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CT ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
