“MJ was terrific with my 5 month old bordoodle puppy. She kept me updated about how he was doing during the week I was traveling, and sent me lots of pictures. I was extremely comfortable that MJ, a responsible dog owner herself, was taking great care of Nacho and treating him as one of her own. He got plenty of play time and love and snuggles. She also made sure to carefully introduce him to her three dogs- I think my puppy had a real vacation at her home! I was skittish leaving Nacho anywhere with other dogs due to a bad experience he recently had at a doggie day care, but MJ quickly put me at ease and clearly treated him wonderfully. Nacho has some new friends now! I would HIGHLY recommend MJ to anyone.”

“Steve and Deb are our go to sitters for Max and have been for 10 years. He is part of their family when he is in their care. We are at peace and can enjoy our time away because of the love and attention Max receives. Steve and Deb are kind, caring, reliable and we trust them without hesitation when caring for Max. They are simply put good people. We highly recommend their services. We are blessed to have them take care of Max.”

“Our two dogs had a great 4-night stay with Lisa! She listened carefully to the special instructions for our larger, anxious dog. Both pups were calm and happy during their stay. Nice location in a quiet, convenient spot with large house and yard.”

“Morgan was super helpful when I needed a sitter on my road trip! She was so good with Molly and helped out extra since Molly wasn’t feeling the best on my trip and eating irregularly”

“We booked Wendy at the last minute and she was great taking care of our two dogs. She took very good care of our older Shiba and our puppy Husky. They were both very clean and happy when we picked them up. Would definitely recommend her for anyone looking for a pet sitter.”

“Thank goodness we found Patrick and Susan on Rover.com, for we would not be able to enjoy ourselves without our “fury baby” Scarlet. Knowing she’s in great hands being taken care of as if she were their own and sometimes Scarlet does believe it 😂 Our dog loves having their fullest attention and the nice walks she gets when we leave her with them! My husband and I can’t wait to plan our next trip without Scarlet knowing she’ll be with Patrick & Susan while we’re away ❤️ We definitely recommend them😊”

“I was very anxious about using a new sitter during a week-long vacation, but Allison immediately put my mind at ease! It was clear from the moment we met, that my dog, Grandpa, was in good hands. She sent photos every day along with daily updates, which made it much easier to relax! I recommend Allison without hesitation and will definitely be using her again!”

“Dash had a wonderful week long stay at Renata’s home. Plenty of exercise and outdoor time on their beautiful property on the lake. Would absolutely trust to take care of our dog again in the future. Highly recommend!”

“I had a positive experience having my dog, Pepper, stay with Ashley and her family. She was easy to communicate with, flexible with the booking, and loving in her approach to animal care. Pepper was well cared for and came back happy.”

“This was our first time using the service. Patty made Milo and myself feel comfortable right away. She was very flexible and made everything very convenient. I would have Milo stay with her again!”

“Lissette took amazing care of my two puppies I know an 11 month old and 3 month old German shepherd are a lot to handle but she did an amazing job! Both puppies did not want to leave her house. I will definitely be booking with Lissette again anytime o travel for work!”

“Thank you so much for taking care of our pooch. I am sure he enjoyed the company (canine and human), the outside time, and such comfortable inside accommodations. I am sure he will want to come for another visit soon!”

“This was Bodhi’s second stay with Katie and her family. They took wonderful care of him and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter who will treat your pet with loving care and attention.”

“I highly recommend Klaudia. She did a great job with our dog, Macy. Klaudia has a kind family and two sweet dogs of her own. She sent several pictures, which I loved. I could tell our dog was comfortable and happy with Klaudia. I was worried Macy may not want to come home with us! We will definitely be coming back in the future.”

“We have used Renee several times for both our cat and our dog. She has been absolutely amazing to work with. She takes great care of them and they are always happy when they come home and not stressed. I appreciate her level of communication, speedy responses and that she is great at updating us.”

“Jen was fantastic with Lily. She kept us updated, provided plenty of pictures and is very friendly. We were able to relax knowing Lily was in good hands. We’ll definitely book with Jen again.”

“Caitlin and her family took incredible care of our dog! She has stayed with them in the past and loved the accommodations AND the TLC! Caitlin provided a few photos while we were away, which only further assured us our pet was being well taken care of! Thanks again!”

Peabody is always so happy to see Christle and her family. I can tell he misses them when he leaves too. Whenever Christle dog sits him, he seems very content and happy after. On top of this, Christle is always very communicative, thoughtful, and kind! She is a very trustful person and we will continue to work with her!

Ifan was wonderful and very responsive. He sent a picture each day of our dogs and it was reassuring to see that they were happy and healthy! He learned their personalities very quickly and the dogs seem like they had a wonderful time. Would definitely recommend and will be a return customer!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CT ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
