“Jennifer and Inam were such great caretakers! I had a last minute trip for work and they were so flexible and accommodating on very short notice. I interacted mostly with Jennifer and I could tell how much love and care she pours into all the dogs. My pup was so sad to see her leave when it was time to go! Thank you for taking such great care of Olivia!!”
“Patrick and Susan did a wonderful job with our puppy. They sent pictures of him playing outside with them and updates. He came home happy and healthy and we can't wait to use them again. We are so glad that we found them and now can feel good about traveling even though we have a dog.”

“I feel more than comfortable leaving Eli with Serenity and family. He has stayed with them several times now and always gets so much attention and treated so special. They are also great about sending photo updates. Highly recommend!”

“Thank you Lisa for taking care of our dog while we were away. Inspite of our dog being only ~8 months old, Lisa was great with him. She sent pictures everyday which was wonderful.”

About: I have over 10 years of personal and professional animal caregiving skills. Exotic pets are welcomed and I have some of my own! I love caring for animals and I’m happy to be responsible for any/all animal care needs. I have a flexible schedule and a reliable SUV! I have animals of my own who are on set schedules. I can fit in dog walking and check ins on any weekday while balancing my own home/care. I interact and play with any animal that I meet! I love meeting new friends and I’m happy to feed and walk multiple times a week/day if needed.
“Morgan was super helpful when I needed a sitter on my road trip! She was so good with Molly and helped out extra since Molly wasn’t feeling the best on my trip and eating irregularly”

“First time using Rover, and I couldn’t be happier! Frannie was recently boarded at a facility for one night, and after picking her up, I honestly questioned whether I’d ever board her again—until meeting Lauren. She provided a comfy, cozy home with plenty of room to run and play. She’s very personable and truly treats your dog like her own. I felt completely at ease knowing Frannie was in such great hands! Thank you again❤️”

“I would highly recommend Allison to take care of your dogs! She is so caring and definitely communicates with you to let you know what's going on! Her dog, Mollie is so sweet too! She has 2 fenced in areas- a front yard and back yard with a pool! There is definitely plenty of places for your dogs to roam and play outside. She also has a nice area inside for them to play and where she gives tons of cuddles! She honors whatever your routine is, as I wanted my dog to sleep in her soft crate and be fed twice a day with pottie breaks every 4hrs. She is very reliable, dependable, efficient and a total sweetheart! She knows how to slowly introduce dogs and makes sure everyone is safe and comfortable besides having fun! I was so calm knowing that my Lola was in good hands and given so much attention by her, her family, and the other dogs! A definite 5 star rating in my book!”

“Amanda was great! Our meet & greet was awesome, our dog Chase felt right at home during his stay. She made sure to always send pictures, videos and constantly keep us updated on Chase. I would definitely book with her again.”

About: For the past 3 years I have had jobs within the veterinary industry in both general practice and emergency veterinary care and am currently a pre-vet student. I have lots of hands on experience with all different kinds of animals, I myself have rabbits, guinea pigs and dogs. I have several years of dog training experience including training therapy dogs used in social settings for increasing positivity in different public environments. With my veterinary jobs I have taken care of and helped treat all different ages and breeds of animals. With my animal behavior training I can also assess animals body language in all different kinds of settings to know how best to react with each animal I meet. I am a very active veterinary science student and love spending my free time and breaks interacting with all kinds of animals. Each new friend I meet offers me the challenge to enhance their training and asses their body language to become even better at what I do within the vet industry. With each new friend I get to meet I make sure to have clear communication regarding guidelines and normal routines for all the furry friends. I like to keep routine within each animals schedule to reduce the stressors of being alone or having their family leave for a vacation without them. The routine I learn about gives me the basis on what kind of care each animal needs because every animal is different.
“Nazim is super easy to work with, and my dogs clearly love him. In general, I don’t like leaving the dogs alone, but I feel great about leaving them with him. Nazim understands and likes dogs. Ten out of ten, would book again.”

About: I am a huge animal person and have been around dogs most of my life. I currently have a 7 year old (30lb) dog that we rescued as a puppy. She is a sweet girl and is use to having a companion (since we also had a spaniel for 17 years that recently passed away) so she is comfortable with other dogs. We also foster puppies and have experience with many different breeds and personalities! While you're away, working, or just have other plans that can't include your pet, he or she is welcome to stay with us or I can come to you. Either way, I will strive to make your furry family member feel comfortable and cared for. During the day, your pet will get plenty of attention. I currently work from home full time, which allows more flexibility with outside breaks and neighborhood walks. While I work, I will be in the same room as your pet so they will never feel alone. As far as basic care and house rules go, their feeding schedule can be flexible and adjusted to match his/her schedule at home. They are allow to roam the main areas of our home and snuggle up on the couch as they wish!
“Janelle was amazing with our Jimmy, yet again! I feel so comfortable leaving him at her house with her sweet family. I know that I do not have to worry about him at all. It's a great feeling to have, as a dog owner.”

“Andrea did a fantastic job caring for our dog. She was responsive and sent us pictures throughout the stay. I will definitely use Andrea again when we need care for our dog.”

“Anthony and his wife were great! Very responsive and accommodating for our pup, Honey. They were flexible to work with our tricky schedule and made sure she had a comfortable stay. Would definitely book again!”

“I highly recommend Klaudia. She did a great job with our dog, Macy. Klaudia has a kind family and two sweet dogs of her own. She sent several pictures, which I loved. I could tell our dog was comfortable and happy with Klaudia. I was worried Macy may not want to come home with us! We will definitely be coming back in the future.”

Renata is the best! If you are reluctant to leave your pet to travel, she is the care taker for you. I boarded my dog at her house for 7 nights and was able to travel in complete peace. She has a very sweet dog that will keep your dog company. She treated my dog as her own. She walked him several times a day on her amazing property and sent lots of pics and videos. She’s just a genuinely nice person that really enjoys animals. You are essentially booking a vacation for your pet, if you board with her!
Patty was wonderful with our younger pup while we were away on a preplanned vacation. It gave me such peace of mind knowing our dog was in a loving, caring home. I personally prefer having our dog stay at a sitter’s house rather than having someone come to ours, and this setup worked out perfectly. Patty has a nice, large yard and kept us updated regularly on how our pup was doing, which we really appreciated. Even though our puppy is still young and in the process of being trained, Patty was patient, supportive, and very understanding of his needs. She was also incredibly kind during the meet-and-greet and took the time to understand and follow our request for homemade food, which meant a lot to us. I would highly recommend Patty and am already looking forward to our pup’s next visit as he continues to grow.

We cannot thank Judy enough for boarding our Charlie last minute. We had an issue with our normal boarding facility and Judy was so accommodating. She sent plenty of pictures and ensured Charlie had the best time ever. This was our first time using Rover and she made us so comfortable. She even taught her a new trick that has never worked for me before when I tried. Thank you Judy and I hope Charlie will be spending future dates in your wonderful care!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CT ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
