“Renata took such good care of our pup. She put her at ease when she was nervous. Once our pup settled in, she kept me updated and then captured all the fun moments of playing and silliness. Our girl had the best time and was exhausted from playing so much. Such a wonderful experience!”

“I was very unsure of leaving my new puppy with someone, but I need yo say that Ricky is the best, he took very good care of Bailey and was very responsible, always updating me with pictures and letting me know how she was doing. She will be going back this weekend and will be definitely leave her there anytime I need. 100% recommend.”

“Very satisfied with the care of my puppy. Rosmery is a very kind person. My puppy quickly went crazy for her when she picked her up. I loved that she sent me photos while I was away from my Luna. My puppy was very happy when I came back to get her. —————————————————————- Muy satisfecha con el cuido de mi perrita, Rosmery es una persona muy amable, mi puppy rápidamente se volvió loca con ella al cogerla, me encanto que me envío fotos mientras estaba lejos de mi Luna, mi perrita estaba muy feliz al regresar a buscarla. THANK YOU!”

“Very friendly, caring, and knowledgeable of pets. Gave a report at time of pick up of how he did, any problems that arose, and suggestion they could help if need be. My pup is hyper so her fenced in yard was perfect. He was happy and relaxed at pick up. Would I use her again? Absolutely, yes. He felt safe with her and that is what we want when leaving out pets!”

About: I have been asked to take care of dogs/cats while family have been out of town on many occasions I have 3 of my own cats and niece and nephew cat (yes) lol also two puppers that are family a newphie and great Pyrenees. Animals are my family and I feel happier with them than I do with people. Depending on location I can be available when needed. I work from home I can be flexible as long as I am communicated with in a timely manner As I have three cats I wouldn’t be able to bring any other pets into my home as they are rescues who have severe anxiety and to keep my fur babies safe I would ask that they be respected and I can only make home visits. Thank you !
“Lauren is fantastic. She’s dependable, clearly loves dogs, and takes great care of them at daycare. My pup always comes home happy and tired from a great day. Highly recommend.”

“Jimmy feels more & more at home every time we leave him with Janelle! He runs inside and makes himself at home, which says everything about how great they take care of him! He loves it there.”

“Lisa was the best dog sitter. She was friendly, kind, and communicative. She helped us out so last minute. She took great care of our little Hunter. This was my first time using rover and I would definitely recommend Lisa to anyone. She responded to my concerned mom texts and sent pics of our pup hanging out outside. Hunter was smiling, happy, and seemed worn out after his stay with Lisa. We cannot thank her enough for all her help. Thank you so much Lisa!!!!! ?”

About: I have been fostering dogs for over a year. In the past year, I've cared for eleven foster dogs as they wait for their forever homes; in addition to this, I am the first person friends and family call to watch their dogs when they go out of town. Over the past year, I've dog-sat for seven different friends and family members, caring for pit mixes, boxers, a bernedoodle, golden doodles, and several rescue mixes. I am experienced working with all kinds of dogs; large and small, young puppies to senior dogs in need of additional medical support. I've completed Family Dog I and Family Dog II training classes at Tails-U-Win in Manchester, CT, with my parents' German Shepherd mix. I work from home and have a relatively flexible schedule, so I have the ability to be with your pets for the vast majority of the day, ensuring they are well cared for. I adjust activities, depending on the specific dog and their needs. I love to walk and hike, and for active dogs, I know of many trails and parks within 10-15 minutes of my home. For lower-energy dogs, we walk around my neighborhood and spend time in the yard. I have a plethora of enrichment toys and games - puzzles, snuffle rugs, kong wobbles, and more. Totally depends on the dogs and their unique needs.
About: What sets me apart as a sitter is the level of genuine care, attentiveness, and patience I bring to every pet I work with. I treat every animal as if they were my own, making sure they feel safe, loved, and comfortable in my care. I have experience with a wide range of pets, from energetic puppies who need consistent training and structure, to senior dogs requiring gentle handling, medication, and a slower pace. I’m confident in reading animal behavior and adjusting to their needs, whether that means helping a shy pet come out of their shell or keeping a high-energy pup mentally and physically stimulated. I’m also reliable, clean, and communicative with pet parents so you always feel at ease while you’re away. I’m currently home for the summer, which means I have lots of flexibility and time to dedicate to your furry friend! I absolutely love getting my steps in—so walks, playtime, and keeping your pet active are right up my alley. Whether it’s a game of tug-of-war, fetch, or working their brain with fun puzzles, I’m all about keeping pets happy, healthy, and mentally stimulated. What sets me apart is the energy and attentiveness I bring to every visit. I don’t just “watch” pets—I engage with them, connect with them, and make sure they feel safe and loved. Whether your pup needs structured walks or your senior dog needs a little extra care and patience, I’ve got them covered. Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or yours, I make it a priority to create a safe, calm, and loving environment where your pet can thrive. In my home, I keep things clean, cozy, and pet-friendly. I stick to your pet’s usual routine as closely as possible—meals, walks, playtime, and even snuggle time. I make sure they feel like part of the family, with lots of attention, enrichment, and love throughout the day.
About: I’ve been working for protectors of animals dog shelter for 8 years. I’ve had plenty of experience with dogs and cats. I have fostered kittens, and dogs. Currently I have a single male cat living with me. I currently work full time as a teacher. I typically have afternoons/evenings available. Weekends are usually pretty open for me as well. My hours at work are usually 7am-2pm. I am careful to make sure that the animal shows signs of trust, before interacting with the animal. I have a good understanding of how to work with fearful animals, to make them comfortable with a new person.
About: Ive been a dog owner all my life and have pet sat for many family and friends. Young or old, I love dogs and am ready to take care of your furry companion like they were one of my own. “I’m so thankful to have met Kristin and her fur baby. Kristin was so welcoming, kind and loving toward Mooch, and it was an immediate sense of relief to know he would get the same love and attention he gets at home. Thank you for a wonderful day!!”

“Nazim is fantastic! He is professional, communicative, and calm. My dog Duke liked Nazim and the other dogs right away. The big fenced back yard and dog-friendly home made for a perfect doggie daycare experience. I appreciated receiving photos throughout the day, and a happy dog at pickup time. Highly recommend!”

“Kristina is great and I will continue to send my puppy to her for doggy day care! She keeps you updated with pictures during the day, she if flexible with drop off and pick up times and her dogs are friendly and playful with my puppy so he is always tired when I pick him up! :)”

About: I have been taking care of pets since I was 12. I love every animal for their unique personality and quirks. I have had several clients over the past 10 years that came to me by word of mouth. I have had dogs from puppies to seniors. I do have a full time job but I work remotely most days. I am flexible so I can be there when they need me. All I need is WiFi. If I watch them in my home, we will meet ahead so I can assess how your dog will do with my dogs and cats. I have a fully fenced in yard in a safe neighborhood. If I watch them in your home I come by for a meet and greet.
“Jennifer is a sweetheart. She brought Lola right outside when I pulled up. She gave me photos and videos. My dog was so tired when I picked her up I can tell she had a great time cause when Jennifer turned around to leave Lola tried to follow her 😂 I will definitely use her again!”

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CT ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
