“Maya did a fantastic job with our anxious dog and hoard of cats. I was worried about leaving them home for a week but Maya kept me updated and took lots of pictures. By the end of the week all the cats came out to say hi to her, which is a ringing endorsement. We'll definitely hire Maya again.”

About: I've had dogs for the last 15 years. Oreo, my most recent fur baby, just went over the rainbow bridge a year ago. He was a rescue and had behavioral problems and anxiety but with daily medication and a lot of love he really overcame his issues. Because of that experience I'm comfortable administering meds if needed. I work in a school so once school is out I have more flexibility in my schedule. I can provide walks or snuggles as needed I cannot provide services in my own home at this time but will gladly play and walk your dog at your home when you need it.
“Our usual Rover sitter wasn't available. So we went with Angela D. who is new to Rover as a sitter. She lived nearby so we gave her a try. Angela turned out to be awesome for our feral cat I rescued. He took to her almost immediately. She did all we asked plus more and we returned home to a happy cat. I highly recommend her.”

About: I’ve had multiple pets since I was young and always had a great love for all animals. I have had my dog since I was 6 years old and been taking care of her since then. Neighbors and family members have always trusted me taking care of their cats, dogs, bunnies, and birds and I love meeting and forming a connection with them all! I also have experience with senior and special needs as my dog had some behavioral issues in the last few years of her life and she has taught me a lot about having compassion for everyone. 🩷 My school year is over so I am currently home for the summer and will have plenty of time to take care of your pets! I also am available on breaks as well and would love to walk your dog during those times! I am majoring in animal studies with a minor in environmental studies in college and have a very strong love and passion for all animals. I have a big fenced yard for your dog to run around and play in! My both love all types of pets and are super welcoming.

“This is my 2nd time booking Nia to visit my babies when I'm away. She is very friendly and nice. She did a wonderful job taking care of my fur babies and sending me updates. I will absolutely book her again!”

“Jen and Michele were wonderful with my senior cats, and gave me great updates! I’m so glad to be able to leave my cats in good hands when I have to go away.”

“Elizabeth is a fantastic pet sitter. She took extremely good care of our needy, high energy cat Toby and followed through on every request we asked and more. She was perfectly on time, spent each hour diligently working to ensure that all his many needs were met, provided tremendous feedback and excellent communication, took wonderful engaging photos, and most importantly Toby immediately took to her and was so excited to see her. I am beyond impressed and I absolutely will be booking with her in the future. Thank you!”

About: My wife (Bria) and I (Cynde) have extensive experience with cats and dogs. I have experience working with cats and dogs while living in Queens, including senior care and special needs cases. We have 4 fur babies, 2 that have special needs. We love animals and would love to take care of yours! We both work from home and are available in the evenings and weekends. We can be open to daytime needs during the week, which would have to be requested and would likely be before 9 am and during lunchtime. We take care and caution when taking care of others fur babies. This includes meeting beforehand and learning the needs of your fur babies, their schedule, and any special instructions you have. We want to ensure everyone is comfortable prior to starting care.
“Thanks to Danielle for being flexible and taking a last minute extension of the booking! The kitties were so happy to see us, but we could tell they had been in good hands while we were away. :-)”

About: Hello! I’m an experienced pet sitter with over 10 years of caring for animals and a proud cat owner myself. I provide calm, reliable drop in visits for both dogs and cats. Whether your pet needs feeding, fresh water, potty breaks, playtime, litter care, or just some extra attention and reassurance while you’re away, I make sure their routine is followed exactly and they feel safe and cared for. I’m very attentive to details and instructions, and I always send updates and photos so you can relax knowing your pet is doing well. I have experience with pets of all temperaments, including shy, anxious, senior, and high energy animals. Your pet’s comfort, safety, and routine are my top priorities. About: Hello! I’ve been an animal lover my whole life! I can provide professional and compassionate care to your pets whether it’s overnight care or walks. I have a very flexible schedule and I’m available at all times during the week and weekends. I am happy to discuss what works best for your family. I’ve been an animal owner my whole life. I’ve left a professional corporate job and venturing into a new chapter of my life. Your pets will be well cared for and loved while you’re away.
About: I have experience working with dogs of all sizes, breeds, and ages, and I truly enjoy getting to know each dog’s unique personality. Whether it’s a high-energy pup who loves long walks and playtime or a senior dog who needs a slower pace and a little extra care, I’m comfortable adapting to what they need most. I especially love working with energetic dogs and making sure they get the exercise, structure, and attention they thrive on. At the same time, I have a soft spot for senior dogs and understand how important patience, gentleness, and consistency are in helping them feel safe and supported. My goal is always to make pets feel comfortable, cared for, and happy while giving owners peace of mind knowing their dog is in good hands. As an elementary school teacher, my days are usually built around structure, consistency, and showing up reliably—and I bring that same mindset to pet care. During the summer, my schedule opens up significantly, which allows me to dedicate more time and flexibility to caring for pets in my community. Pet care fits really naturally into my daily routine right now. I’m available for walks, drop-ins, and extended care throughout the week, and I enjoy building my day around making sure each pet gets the attention, exercise, and consistency they need. It’s something I genuinely enjoy doing during my time off, and it’s been a great way to stay active and connected while doing work I care about. I always tailor my care based on each pet’s individual needs and the owner’s instructions. I know every pet has their own routine, preferences, and personality, so I make it a priority to follow directions closely—whether that’s feeding schedules, walk routines, medications, or specific behaviors to watch for. In a client’s home, I focus on keeping things as consistent and familiar as possible so pets feel comfortable and secure in their own environment. In my home, I create a calm, safe space and adjust based on the pet’s energy level and needs—whether that means lots of playtime or a quieter, more relaxed setting. Communication is really important to me, so I make sure to keep owners updated and reach out if anything seems off. My goal is always to provide care that feels seamless and gives both pets and owners peace of mind.
About: I spent most of my adolescence caring for a sweet and stubborn chihuahua! I walked him, fed him, played with him, snuggled him, took him to vet visits, and more. I now have three wonderful cats who I care for daily. 1 ragdoll and 2 black cats. I am versed in pilling cats, grooming, proper introductions, gaining trust, etc. I am a stay at home wife who will be starting Pilates Teacher Training in the fall of 2026. I have ample time available to tend to your pet care needs! I am willing to come to clients’ homes to walk their dogs, feed their pets, stay overnight, pill their pets, and of course love and care for them with play and snuggles!
About: I've taken care of dogs since I was 15 mostly for my moms coworkers and family members who were going on trips. I would stay overnight for them and watch over their pets. I've fed, watched, bathed, and walked their pets for a day or overnight at times as well. I'm currently working part time but only work on Tuesdays from 3:30-5 as of right now. My classes end relatively early but also start later depending on the day so early/mid-day/evening walks/visits are very flexible with my classes and work schedule. I need another source of income and LOVE dogs :) I will give your pet 100% of my attention the entire time I am at your home. I will take them on walks if you request me to and I will play with them until they fall asleep. I will give your dog as much love and care as I would give my own.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.
To find sitters in New Britain with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.
