“We were grateful we found Ava on Rover. She was a great drop in sitter for our 2 kittens while we were away for a week. She was quick to reply to messages, was proactive with questions, and met/exceeded our expectations. We especially enjoyed her daily reports and photos of our cats playing and cuddling. We came home to two happy and healthy kittens and would happily hire her again.”

“Nefeli took excellent care of my kitty Ooma. She also followed instructions to the T with care and was a great communicator. Ooma is very shy and nervous at first with new people and will often hide, but she really took to Nefeli from the beginning and spent time with her during her check ins. That says a lot.”
“Danielle was great with my two cats! They loved having her come over and play and just hang out and cuddle. She also came to meet the cats and see how everything was laid out in the house. I will definitely use her again!”

“My German Shepherd dog fell in love with Tanya at first sight! She's obviously loves animals. Everything went great, will definitely book Tanya again! Appreciated the photos of my dog and cat while I was away!”

“Melissa was wonderful and did a great job watching my cat, Sophie. I loved getting the daily checkin cards. Sophie was happy and really seemed to enjoy the company. Her coat was so soft and shiny, she must have enjoyed being brushed as well. Will certainly book again!”

About: I have always loved pets and grew up in a house full of various animals. This includes dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, hamsters, turtles, and fish. My love for pets has only grown through the years. My experience in pet care is from having my own pets, pet sitting for family, friends, and taking on pet sitting jobs and volunteer work during my youth. My main option on here is dog walking and drop-ins but I also do house sitting. I’m currently between jobs so have a lot of free time on my hands. It would be my pleasure to spend it looking after your furry friends and provide outstanding care while you are busy or away!! I'm willing to do additional other tasks if requested. I have years of experience caring for pets and currently care for my own 3 year old stubborn but adorable beagle. I will treat your furry kiddos as if they were my own. I try to provide the best care possible so very thorough instructions are always welcome. Updates will always be provided as well.
“Xiaotong was absolutely wonderful! My kitties were loved on and well taken care of, and she is great at communicating! Will definitely be looking to rebook next time I leave town.”

About: Hi, I’m Kira. I’ve loved dogs my whole life and would be thrilled to help out with your dog care! I am available on a flexible schedule for dog walks or care in your home. I have experience caring for puppies, senior dogs, and administering medications. I can give injected medications and pills, brush dogs teeth, and clip their nails if necessary! Shoot me a message and I’d be happy to meet your furry friend :) I’m working part time, and I have a fairly open schedule, I am available on most afternoons during the week and anytime on weekends. I am happy to pick up dogs from their home for a walk, take them to a park, or hang out with them in their home. I will always treat your home with respect and leave it as I found it. I can also help out with housekeeping and cleaning if necessary!
About: I have taken care of dogs since I was around 5 years old. I have experience giving dogs pills, being consistent with training processes, and with senior dog care. I have also taken care of cats. I’m able to take care of dogs and cats in the mornings and evenings during the week and all day on weekends and holidays. I am a homebody so once I get done with work during the day, I am not leaving and play with my animals. I have a fenced in yard with a very friendly dog and cat. If needed, I have a room where I can separate my cat from other dogs to allow non-cat friendly dogs to stay. This room has his food, water, bed, toys, and litter box, while also being one I spend a large amount of time in so he is not lonely. My dog is fed once in the morning and is allowed to eat when he wants to and he runs outside in the backyard when he feels like it. I do adjust how often he gets fed and if he is free feeding when other animals are present. In clients' homes, I follow feeding and care instructions.
“Kylie is amazing!! This is our second time booking with her and we will definitely use her again! She even went an extra visit cause we have some naughty cats which we were so so grateful for!”

“I’ve booked Ann twice—she’s absolutely amazing with my cat, and I can tell my cat loves her. She does great with all the regular stuff-medication administration, feedings, litter, etc. but I love that she also gives my cat a ton of attention. She’s even put on bird videos on her phone for my cat to watch once :) She also sends really great, extremely detailed reports. I love reading about everything my cat did during the visit, and it gives me a lot of peace of mind while I’m away. Could not recommend her enough!!”

“Brittany has excellent dog skills and has been able to be patient and caring for my anxious-reactive dog. She sent me lots of pictures too. Will book her services again!”

“Katie has been excellent with our fur babies. We were out of town for 6 days and had no issues or worries. All the pics she sent showed how happy the dogs were when she came to check on them. Thank you Katie!”

About: I’ve had both dogs and cats my entire life and genuinely enjoy spending time with animals of all personalities and energy levels. Whether your dog loves long walks and playtime or prefers relaxing on the couch, I’d be happy to keep them company and care for them while you’re away. I also have experience caring for cats, including my own. Whether your cat is playful and social or more independent, I can make sure they’re well cared for with fresh food and water, a clean litter box, and attention tailored to their personality. As a college student, I’m looking for a way to earn money while doing something I naturally love. I would truly appreciate the opportunity to care for your pet whenever you need an extra hand. I’m currently on summer break from my university and work part-time, leaving my days and evenings fairly free for check-ins or overnights. I provide care for pets in their own homes so they can stay comfortable in a familiar environment while you’re away. During high school, I pet sat for both dogs and cats, and I’m comfortable caring for pets with different personalities, routines, and energy levels. I understand the importance of keeping pets on their normal schedule, including timely feeding, walks, playtime, and bathroom breaks. I also have no problem following specific instructions to make sure your pet receives the care they’re used to. When staying in a client’s homes, I make it a priority to respect the space, keep the home secure, and communicate regularly so you can feel confident that both your pet and home are being well cared for.
“Katie came to our home for the first time today to let our dogs out to potty, get treats and play for a bit. She arrived on time, communicated well with me while she was with them and sent me pics of each of our fur babies. I will definitely call on her again!”

“Kyra wonderful! She was super attentive to my two cats and made sure to update me while I was away. I definitely would recommend her to anybody looking for a great sitter.”

About: What sets me apart as a dog sitter is my experience with a variety of dog breeds and ages. I've personally cared for my own dog for 4 years and regularly sit for a small bichon frise, gaining firsthand knowledge of both puppy phases and the unique needs of adult dogs. Additionally, my background includes dog sitting medium sized breeds like German Shepherds and Golden Doodles, ensuring tailored attention and support for dogs of different temperaments. Pet care fits well into my daily and weekly routine, especially with the support of family members. I work part-time during the week but still ensure that our furry friends receive consistent care and attention. My family members are readily available to assist when needed, allowing for flexibility in scheduling walks, playtime, feeding, and other essential tasks. We have a fenced yard, keep floors clean, water is always out, keep a regular check and take them for frequent walks in the neighborhood
About: Hi, I’m Vanessa! I’m currently in college but my family has been fostering dogs since I was in middle school, so I have experience with every kind of dog from 8-week puppies to older dogs to three legged ones! I currently have 2 rescues I help take care of and train, and love volunteering at animal shelters(Chicago Canine and Wright Way) in my free time, so I have a wide variety of experiences when it comes to caring for animals. Whether it be walking one dog or bathing a van load of puppies, I love spending time with all dogs!!!! I’m currently working part-time, so I have plenty of time for walks, check-ins, and overnight stays. I’m available during the weekdays and most weekends, and my schedule is very flexible. I have experience with basic dog training classes, and my two dogs are both crate trained so I can follow any dogs schedule, strict or relaxed, and make sure they’re safe and comfortable. I also love to play with them and help them get the physical and mental stimulation they need to be happy and healthy!
Urbana dog parents share their Rover experiences
Olivia was wonderful! We were a little nervous since this was our first experience hiring out a pup sitter. She was very patient with us as we learned the system. While dropping in on our puppies, she was responsible and asked clarifying questions (when needed). She put the needs of our pups first when considering how her time with them would be best served. She also sent multiple pictures of our puppies; they appeared to approve of her as well!

Madeline did a super job with our 2 beagles. She is excellent at following instructions and our dogs love her. We appreciate Madeline’s willingness to work on short notice when THREE other Rover employees canceled before even meeting us and our dogs. Madeline proved that Rover employees can be responsible! I would certainly hire Madeline again.

Katie has been very accommodating and patient as we do some drop-in meetings so that she and SugarBear can get to know each other, as a lead-in into a longer, dog-sitting session. I appreciate Katie being available to work with SugarBear, who is always happy (too happy!) to see her.

Highly recommend. My first time using Rover and wasn’t sure what to expect. I usually take my two (older but active) dogs with me on trips, but couldn’t this time. Sarah bonded with the dogs quickly, and then went beyond my expectations in check-ins, providing not just basic care, but giving meds, playing with them, and giving me the reassurance I needed.

This is the second time Faith has looked after my dog. Our interpersonal interaction was cordial. She sent pics of my dog, and he seemed like a pretty inferior guard dog based on how it seemed he interacted with her. My dog seemed happy when I got home. In other words, I'd request Faith's services again.
Danica was so good with our senior dog! She is loving and gentle and sent us regular updates with photos and information. When we needed to add a day on at the last minute due to travel delays, she was flexible and happy to help. I strongly recommend Danica for your pet’s care.

Katie came to our home for the first time today to let our dogs out to potty, get treats and play for a bit. She arrived on time, communicated well with me while she was with them and sent me pics of each of our fur babies. I will definitely call on her again!
