“Aric truly went above and beyond! Not only did he save the day with my late request, he also took fantastic care of my crew (hound, buns, and fish tanks). Little touches like bringing my trash bin back from the curb and buying my dog another cup of yogurt when he ran out shows how much he cares.”

“Michelle is wonderful. She’s very aware of any and all changes with my cats and spends quality time with them to make them feel comfortable. She also goes above and beyond to help them feel settled with the stress of me being gone”

“This was my first time using Rover and I feel like I struck gold with Theresa! She is incredibly kind, communicative, and dedicated to providing the best care. She took the time to get to know my shy cat’s favorite things, and my cat went from hiding to cuddling in a matter of a few visits from Theresa. She provided thorough updates with photos at each visit and responded quickly to my messages. You can tell she loves and respects animals and puts thought and care into the time she spends with them. I felt safe and confident that my cat was well taken care of. I would highly recommend her to anyone and absolutely would book again!”

About: Beyond generic dog sitting for family as a kid or walking the dogs around my neighborhood (which I did), I currently own two small breed rescue dogs. One is a seinor with IVDD, and the other is a puppy with a luxating patella, so I've seen both ends of the scale. I am no stranger to giving animals insulin shots and medications, dealing with accidents of all kinds, animals with mobility issues, managing untrained dogs, and more! Also, I have fostered dogs before, so I am well aware of the proper way to introduce yourself to an animal, dog body language, warning signs, and stress signals. Ever since I've gotten my newest puppy, I've really been put through the wringer training wise. I've learned positive ways to shape behavior in dogs, even in a short amount of time, and I would never dream of using aversive behavior management methods unless that is currently part of the dog's training plan. For cats, I’ve spent years growing up with and living with cats. I’m experienced with giving cats syringe medications and shots. Scooping litter and cleaning up accidents is no big deal around here! I work part time, and I have a vehicle, so I’m able to attend to your pet’s needs whenever necessary. I’m used to waking up at dawn for walks, and I am certainly no stranger to a middle of the night potty break. Your pet’s needs will always come first. All boundaries are always respected for animals. I’m a stranger in their home, and I am very aware of that. My job is to keep them fed and walked and safe. I love animals, so I’m always happy to give pets or cuddles, but only if they ask.
“Rachel was such a caring and kind sitter for our two precious kitties. We are very grateful to have found Rachel and plan on hiring her for future pet sitting needs! She did everything we asked and more, and really spent time trying to get to know and understand our cats, which we appreciated. She sent great updates with every drop in visit. We came home to two very happy kitties who were well taken care of and appreciated Rachel’s care, too. Thanks so much!”

“Amazing petsitter for our dog and cat! They loved having someone come to visit throughout the day and my husband and I really appreciated the pictures from each stop so we could keep seeing them while we were away. I would leave 10 stars if I could!”

“Valerie was amazing with Whiskey! She was very attentive, kind, and kept us updated with lots of pictures and messages which gave us so much peace of mind. We could tell Whiskey was well cared for and loved. We highly recommend Valerie!”

“David did a wonderful job with my three kitties! He played with the friendly ones and was patient with my shy guy. He even watered my plants while I was away. Appreciated his help making sure everyone was fed and safe!”

“Rilee loves animals and goes above and beyond to take care of them! Updates were also thorough and timely. I felt really reassured that my cats were OK during my 5-day trip away, and didn’t need to worry!”

“My German Shepherd dog fell in love with Tanya at first sight! She's obviously loves animals. Everything went great, will definitely book Tanya again! Appreciated the photos of my dog and cat while I was away!”

About: I grew up taking care of our family dogs, cats, birds, fish, guinea pigs, snakes, tarantulas, and horses. With my love and closeness to animals growing up, I continued into the veterinary medicine world after high school and have worked within clinic settings for the past 7 years! I am experienced and comfortable with administering both oral and injectable medications, bathing, and much more. I plan to become a certified veterinary technician as well in the near future. While I do work full time during the week, I am still often able to accommodate multiple visits a day due to my lunch break! I don’t mind an early morning to make sure your pets are taken care of before the workday either. Because mid-day visits are on my break, the time I will be available for these visit will be dependent on the travel time. As my apartment is too small to accommodate any dogs or additional cats, I would be treating your home with the utmost respect! It’s your (and especially your pet’s) safe space, and that needs to be protected. I will always clean up after any messes if they are made by your pet and reach out to make sure you’re aware!
“Sarah was a wonderful pet sitter! We got updates and pictures, which were not expected but totally appreciated. She was communicative, easy to work with, and so very kind to our doggies, even spending a little extra time with them. We couldn’t be happier with her!”

About: Greetings! First - thank you for considering me and my services. I have been a pet owner all my life, and have been the proud parent of hamsters, fish, cats, dogs, and a rabbit! I'm also a responsible house sitter, having been both a homeowner and a renter, I understand the value of not just your pets, but your possessions, your mail and plants, the cozy space of your home, the relationships with your neighbors. I have provided these services for friends and families for most of my life. I have always loved animals and I have always owned pets, been a member of dog parks and puppy play groups, and I volunteered for the Champaign Humane Society for many years. I have also had pets with medication needs, so I am experienced in that area. For years I also groomed my own dogs, and I know that each pet has its own needs, preferences, and personalities. Finally, I recently lost my dog of 15 years, and although I now live somewhere that does not allow pets, I need animals in my life! From my own experience of being a Rover customer for many years, I also know how important it is to pet sit within your home with no disruption to your pet's routine or surroundings. I'm retired, so I can be flexible with your scheduling needs for both your pets and your home. I'm both an early riser and a night owl, so whatever works for you also works for me! I have been both a renter and homeowner, so I know how valuable your pets are, but also your cozy home, your plants, mail, and relationships with your neighbors. I have owned a bunny, hamsters, cats and dogs. But I also have an affinity for birds and reptiles. I have provided services for friends and family most of my life, now I just want to bring in a bit of extra cash to supplement social security. I'm also mainly a homebody, so if your home or your pets need extra care or a lot of time, I'm fully available.

About: I’ve had pets for the majority of my life. I have taken care of dogs, both small and big. Additionally, I have owned cats, mice, fish, ferrets and hamsters. I have experience bottle feeding animals, along with provide any oral medications. I was an animal care intern at the CCHS, where I worked closely with mainly dogs. I am also an animal sciences major, which has provided me with a wide variety of experiences with both companion, farm and exotic animals. I am basically free to take care of your pets throughout the entire summer in the area. So I am able to make pet care part of my daily routine. I can easily crate your pets and can make sure they aren’t getting into anything that isn’t good for them. I have also studied animal behavior in class, so I will be able to read your pet’s cues. I also have hours worth of experience leashing and walking dogs.

Trinity is awesome! She's super personable and makes sure that you know your fur babies are being well taken care of through plenty of pictures and quick responses to messages! My two cats adored her and I'd definitely book with her again the next time i'm out of town.
Aric watched my guinea pigs again while I was out of town, and I’m so grateful I was able to get his help last minute for a weekend trip! He is incredibly trustworthy, dependable, and great with my guinea pigs. It gives me so much peace of mind knowing they’re in such good hands while I’m away. He’s also a great communicator and always makes things easy. I would absolutely recommend Aric to anyone looking for someone they can truly trust with their pets!
Xiaotong is an amazing cat sitter. She was very communicative and always kept me in the loop with my cats. I left her some written and verbal care instructions which were all followed perfectly. Her rover cards were very detailed and came with plenty of photos. My cats decided to rummage through a couple of my trash bins, something they have never done before. Xiaotong was very understanding, going above and beyond cleaning up after my cats' mess. I would definitely book again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
