“This was my first time using Rover to allow somebody to come in my house and walk my dog. Faith’s says it all. She was very loving toward my dog sent pictures and updates which I loved. She has just a natural way of making you feel comfortable and dog feel comfortable. I felt relieved being a state away that my dog was being taken care of so well I recommend faith 100 out of 100.”

“Excellent first Rover experience! We were a little apprehensive to leave our girls, especially our older cat Blackberry with medical conditions, with someone through a website, but we were extremely pleased with the quality-of-care (and cute photos!) Michelle provided. Our directions were followed exactly and all three of our girls very happy and healthy when we returned. We would absolutely book with them again!”

About: have walked & pet sit over night dogs for my friends and family. I also have a pet cat, that I have had for 4 years I work part time so I have a very open schedule. Only on Mondays and Fridays, I have appointments at 12:00 & 1:00 respectively I make sure that they don’t get into anything that may harm them & check for food, water, litter/go outside, and interact and play.
About: Hi, I’m Vanessa! I’m currently in college but my family has been fostering dogs since I was in middle school, so I have experience with every kind of dog from 8-week puppies to older dogs to three legged ones! I currently have 2 rescues I help take care of and train, and love volunteering at animal shelters(Chicago Canine and Wright Way) in my free time, so I have a wide variety of experiences when it comes to caring for animals. Whether it be walking one dog or bathing a van load of puppies, I love spending time with all dogs!!!! I’m currently working part-time, so I have plenty of time for walks, check-ins, and overnight stays. I’m available during the weekdays and most weekends, and my schedule is very flexible. I have experience with basic dog training classes, and my two dogs are both crate trained so I can follow any dogs schedule, strict or relaxed, and make sure they’re safe and comfortable. I also love to play with them and help them get the physical and mental stimulation they need to be happy and healthy!
“David was great with Roxy. She looked forward to his visit each day and we were able to relax knowing she was in good hands. The pictures during his visits reassured us that she was well cared for. We are planning to use David to care for Roxy in the future.”

“Millie really enjoyed her time with Ann. Ann followed my care instructions and played with Millie. She provided a great wrap-up everyday as well as several pictures. I will definitely be calling upon Ann in the future.”

“Holly was great! We appreciated how she sent photos and was super communicative- which helped us feel at ease when away from our babies. Our cats really adore her and when she first met them, they immediately took to her, giving cuddles and purrs. She was thoughtful in ensuring they were well loved and cared for as if they were her own. She went above and beyond giving full effort to provide them with high quality care. THANKS HOLLY! I highly recommend booking.”

About: Greetings! First - thank you for considering me and my services. I have been a pet owner all my life, and have been the proud parent of hamsters, fish, cats, dogs, and a rabbit! I'm also a responsible house sitter, having been both a homeowner and a renter, I understand the value of not just your pets, but your possessions, your mail and plants, the cozy space of your home, the relationships with your neighbors. I have provided these services for friends and families for most of my life. I have always loved animals and I have always owned pets, been a member of dog parks and puppy play groups, and I volunteered for the Champaign Humane Society for many years. I have also had pets with medication needs, so I am experienced in that area. For years I also groomed my own dogs, and I know that each pet has its own needs, preferences, and personalities. Finally, I recently lost my dog of 15 years, and although I now live somewhere that does not allow pets, I need animals in my life! From my own experience of being a Rover customer for many years, I also know how important it is to pet sit within your home with no disruption to your pet's routine or surroundings. I'm retired, so I can be flexible with your scheduling needs for both your pets and your home. I'm both an early riser and a night owl, so whatever works for you also works for me! I have been both a renter and homeowner, so I know how valuable your pets are, but also your cozy home, your plants, mail, and relationships with your neighbors. I have owned a bunny, hamsters, cats and dogs. But I also have an affinity for birds and reptiles. I have provided services for friends and family most of my life, now I just want to bring in a bit of extra cash to supplement social security. I'm also mainly a homebody, so if your home or your pets need extra care or a lot of time, I'm fully available.
“We were grateful we found Ava on Rover. She was a great drop in sitter for our 2 kittens while we were away for a week. She was quick to reply to messages, was proactive with questions, and met/exceeded our expectations. We especially enjoyed her daily reports and photos of our cats playing and cuddling. We came home to two happy and healthy kittens and would happily hire her again.”

Ann was such a great find! She’s personable and clearly knows cats and how to deal with them. Our three are all very different, with a weird separation schedule, and she handled so them with ease. We will definitely be contacting her for our next trip. Feel free to contact me if you’d like to know more or want a reference.

Mary was so sweet with my kitties! She spent extra time at the meet and greet to make sure they were comfortable with her. I even got to see pictures of her kitties :) Everything went super smooth and will be sure to check her schedule when I am out of town again!

Brayden did a great job taking care of our cat while we were away. He did everything we asked him to including bringing in packages from outside. He sent multiple pictures of our fur baby daily so we could feel close to him while we were away and know he was being well taken care of!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Champaign. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
