“This was Nikki’s second stay with Alexa, and she was (again) great with her. Both Nikki and Alexa’s dog are used to being “the only dog” in their daily lives —after 2 stays they are becoming friends, thanks to Alexa’s consideration to both and letting them take things at their own pace. Alexa is also very observant and proactive—the day we left, she sent me a picture of a growth in one of Nikki’s ears to make me aware of it and ask me if it needed special attention. I feel very safe leaving Nikki with Alexa”

About: I’ve been volunteering in animal shelters, sanctuaries, rescues for many years. I’ve dealt with small critters, dogs, cats. I have pets of my own and pet sit for my friends as well. I’m a law student at U of I. I’ll be working from home over the summer so my schedule is very flexible! Just tell me where and I’ll be there with my laptop! I have separate crates, fences at home if needed. I have different sizes of pet carriers and other items, such as pee pads, cages, toys, etc.

“Charlene and Chris were very accommodating to my dogs needs and my requests. My dog had a leg injury and Charlene and Chris put down floor runners and gates so that my dog wouldn’t slip on hard wood floors. They even slept on air mattress so that they could be with my dog on her level and prevent her from jumping on the couch. Thank you to Charlene and Chris!”

“Rachel took care of our dog, Autumn, for the week between Christmas and New Years. She was wonderful! Her home is a warm, comfortable, friendly place for any pet, and she took Autumn on long engaging walks, and even hiking in nearby state parks. She sent regular photos, with heartwarming and hilarious descriptions of how Autumn was getting along with the cats and chickens. Rachel was super communicative, and we are so grateful she was able to accommodate pick up and drop off on holidays - not many folks can/will do that. It means the world to have found a sitter like Rachel; we will definitely reach out to her the next time we travel without our pup!”
