About: Having over 25 years of experience looking after and owning dogs, dog walking for senior clients and dogs would never be a problem, same with puppies. Also have 4 years of pet shop experience so I’ve seen and heard it all. I’m fully available during the week and weekends between 6am to 10pm. But more than willing to discuss what’s needed for your pet care if it falls outside those hours. Safety and respect is crucial when being in other people’s homes. How ever you would like things done is exactly how it will be done.

About: Hi, I’ve grown up with dogs all my life and I’ve come back from university for a long holiday break and would love to welcome your dog into my family’s home to stay. I’m also available for dog walking and day care. We can offer a fenced and safe garden, comfortable sofa and plenty of time for cuddles, company, walks and playtime to all the dogs that stay with us. Our home is very dog friendly and full of treats and toys. We live local to the river and multiple green spaces for a variety of walks. Our family dog, Willow, is 5 years old, she’s an independent miniature poodle. I am happy to arrange a meet and greet before any booking if you would like to see how your dog gets on. I can also easily accommodate separate walks for your dog if you prefer. I want to make your pet feel like this is their home from home so if they have any special requests to make them feel comfortable then please feel free to ask 😁 I’m back from university so I’m available most days, including weekends. I will also be taking care of my own dog when my parents are at work, so I have plenty of time to spend with your dog. I can easily accommodate a dog crate, if your dog is happiest sleeping there. I have a medium-sized fenced garden and live close to Bootham park and the river for nice walks. Your dog is welcome on the sofa and my priority is making them welcome and comfortable.
About: I have had pets since I was 10 years old. I have had cats, dogs and kittens and also rabbits. I have experience looking after people’s kittens/cats/senior cats and also puppies/adult dogs and senior dogs. I have medication administration experience as our old senior cat had medical conditions which required medication. I love looking after furbabies to ensure their individual needs are being met taking into consideration their different personalities. I currently work a 9-5 job Monday to Friday but I am free evenings and over the weekend. Over the weekend I am more flexible to look after pets in my own home, take them for walks and do drop in sessions. I can also offer dog walking/ drop in sessions in the evening after work hours. I have a fenced backyard for your furbaby and I am a 5 minute walk away from a field. I am available to meet up prior to a sit/walk or drop in so I am able to meet you and your furbaby so you can assess who is going to look after your family member.
About: I’ve taken care of dogs my entire life and have trained or owned pups from every “walk” of life - from small to large, young puppies to elderly pooches, rugged rescues to pampered pedigrees - I’ve loved them all and want to give your precious pup all the attention they deserve! ☺️ I have a precious pup of my own who loves to have new furry friends around! I like to spend a lot of time outside so walks and playing in the field are frequent. Otherwise, we’ll be found studying at one of the dog-friendly coffee shops. 🙂 I take frequent breaks from work to play with my pup so there is no shortage of affection and attention for dogs here! I also have several dog beds in my home office so if your pup likes to snuggle/sit on laps I’m always up for that while I work. 🐶
“Octavia was an instant hit with my dog and I felt very comfortable leaving him with her. She kept in touch about the meet and greets and the dog walks. I’d be happy to use her again! Thanks.”

About: Having grown up with different breeds and owning a three-legged rescue dog who required additional care and training, I have developed a strong understanding of the individual needs and personalities of dogs. This experience has given me patience, confidence, and the ability to adapt to different temperaments, routines, and care requirements. I am committed to providing a safe, loving, and reliable environment. I can work remotely during the week and have availability over weekends, which allows me to have more flexible and cater the individual pet's needs. My priority is creating a safe, trusting environment where pets feel secure and loved. I treat every animal as an individual — paying attention to their personality, comfort levels, and any special needs. Pet parents can relax knowing their pets are cared for with patience, consistency, and genuine affection.
About: For many years family and friends have relied on me taking brilliant care of their pets while being away. Furthermore I have 4 years of experience working in a boarding cattery in which I provided excellent care and cuddles to some wonderful kitties! I have also spent time walking and caring for dogs. I am absolutely passionate about caring for all animals :) I am currently a university student at YSJ studying counselling and am very flexible to be looking after pets! I have lots of free time during the week (Monday-thursday) and am completely flexible over the weekend. Due to living in an apartment, I cannot offer boarding services as I have no garden. However I am able to visit houses and take animals out for days/walks, as well as staying in the home where needed for the care of your pets. I am also safety conscious so will ensure your house stays safe and secure when I am there.
About: I have extensive experience caring for a variety of animals, including dogs, cats, rabbits, and horses. I’ve grown up with pets and have also worked on farms and livery, giving me hands-on experience with both my own animals and others’. I love taking dogs on long walks, playing, and giving them lots of attention, and I’m equally comfortable relaxing at home with cats while keeping an eye on them. I’m enthusiastic, trustworthy, and genuinely care about each pet’s wellbeing. My experience with animals of all sizes and temperaments, from puppies to senior pets, allows me to provide reliable and compassionate care tailored to each individual. As a York St John university student, I have a flexible schedule and am free most of the time, allowing me to dedicate consistent care and attention to pets. I look after my own cat, Orbit, every day, and I’m passionate about giving animals love, exercise, and companionship while their owners are away. I provide pet care at the owner’s home, offering full attention to their pet’s needs. This includes regular walks, playtime, feeding, and any other care following the owner’s guidance to ensure each pet’s routine and wellbeing are maintained. I’m attentive, reliable, and always send updates and photos so owners can feel confident their pets are happy and cared for.
About: We are a couple in our mid twenties with a love of all dogs! We have experience with many dogs including rescues, dogs that have special needs or anxiety, and senior dogs. Always make sure you provide us clear instructions of care if your dog requires special medical needs. We have cared for dogs who experience regular fits/seizures, and require pills with their feeds. We have also cared for a few senior dogs - we know when dogs needs to take it a little easier on their feet so please do tell us how many walks they require or what their limit is x I currently work full time however I am fortunate to work from home for half of the week. The days I work from home are usually Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. We can board dogs overnight anytime from 1pm onwards on those days, with pick up in the mornings/afternoons next day. You can expect your fur baby to get 2 walks the day they board and a walk the following morning. We are fortunate to have good dog walking paths near our door and if your dog is a good traveller in the car we know a lovely secure field for socialising. We have a little lurcher of our own who absolutely loves meeting new friends. She is very playful girl and loves playing with her toys inside even when I am working I always have time to give cuddles and provide indoor activities. I will give a good walk during my lunch break and another good walk after 5pm. We have a lurcher of our own. She was a rescue from the rspca having been abandoned in a park :( our girl has a lot of anxiety but with the warmth, attention and care we give her, she settled in in no time. We will treat every dog with the exact same care and attention as if they were our own. We start our days with a morning walk then bring them home for a morning feed and some downtime. They will get an afternoon walk and then another feed if you require - just let us know their normal routine and feeds and we will stick to that so they ease in nicely! They will get a small evening stroll before settling into the night. We provide a number of toys and indoor activities between walks too so they never have a dull moment. If your dog loves to curl up after walks we have 2 dog beds, and sofas they can rest on, or if they are like our Poppet they can curl up in front of the heater.

About: I’ve loved and cared for dogs for most of my life. Growing up, my family had a female Pomeranian who was with us for over 10 years, followed by a female Husky. Caring for them gave me experience with dogs of different breeds, sizes and personalities. Now I live with my partner and our spayed female Cockapoo, Loopy. Looking after her has taught me the importance of understanding each dog’s individual needs, routine and personality. I’ve also looked after friends’ dogs, including a large Old English Sheepdog, whom I bathed and cared for, as well as several Cockapoos. One of my friend’s Cockapoos even stayed overnight in our home for a week, so I’m experienced in helping dogs settle into a new environment and feel comfortable. I genuinely love spending time with dogs. I enjoy taking them for walks, visiting parks and going on countryside walks together. I always pay close attention to their behaviour, comfort and wellbeing, and I’ll care for your dog with the same love and attention that I give my own. As a freelancer, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to give dogs plenty of time, attention and companionship throughout the day. Caring for dogs is already a big part of my daily life, as I share my home with my partner and our lovely Cockapoo, Loopy. As a Cockapoo owner myself, I understand the energy, affection and attention this breed needs, and I’m always happy to adapt to each dog’s own routine and personality. Whether your dog enjoys long walks, playtime or simply relaxing with people, I’ll make sure they feel safe, loved and at home. Your dog’s safety, comfort and happiness will always come first. I have a friendly, spayed female Cockapoo who enjoys the company of other dogs. I introduce dogs gradually and never leave them together unsupervised until I’m confident they’re comfortable with each other. I’ll carefully follow your dog’s usual routine, including feeding, walks, medication (if needed) and any special instructions. Every dog is different, so I take the time to understand their personality and make sure they feel relaxed and secure. My goal is for your dog to enjoy their stay just as much as you enjoy your time away.
“Thank you for helping out this week Freya! We are very grateful that Freya was available at such short notice as we realised that both of our back up walkers were on holiday this week! Skye is cat reactive and selectively dog reactive so I messaged Freya because of her experience with her own rescue dog! She gave updates on how Skye had been during her walks. We worry about Skye because of her past and her behaviour which can appear unpredictable to people that don't know her. But felt confident she was in good hands. Thanks again!”

About: I have had dog all my life. At the moment I currently have 4 dogs. I also helped out in kennels in Tenerife last year. I am full time. Limited availability on Wednesday and Thursdays as I am at university but this can be done online if I am pet sitting. I will come round for a meet and greet to make sure me and your fur baby get along great. I also take veterinary details in case of an emergency. I will keep doors, gates, windows secure. I will be round all hours to make sure they are happy and looked after.
About: I’ve been surrounded by animals my entire life and caring for them has always come naturally to me. For the past decade, I’ve owned and cared for more specialized pets like ferrets, which has given me a deep understanding of patience, attentiveness, and individualized care. I especially love dogs and have experience training puppies as well as caring for senior dogs who need a little extra gentleness and support. From high-energy youngsters to calm, elderly companions, I’m comfortable adapting to each dog’s unique personality and needs. No dog feels unfamiliar to me, and I treat every pet as if they were my own. I'm available most (if not all) days of the week currently and have plenty of time in my day to care for your loving pet. I'll care for your pet in your own home to your standards and instructions including play, treats, and meals. I can also care for them in my home, but have only a limited terraced garden space for them to play outside (my home is big for roaming, for more indoor inclined dogs).
About: Had 4 different dogs in my lifetime, all who were loved until the age of 18, aswell as 2 cats, and have experience dealing with dogs all different natures and breeds. I love taking care of them and keeping them safe and being around animals brings me much joy. One of my current dogs being 18, and my other being 1, means I have to deal with both senior and youthful energy all the time, teaching me alot. I'm currently in my first year at York St John University, although have lots of free time all week, so I'm happy to help out during the week and on weekends! I love to spend time with animals, so I am extremely flexible, and will likely be available whenever required 😁 I'm happy to adapt in whatever scenario to care for any pets, I'm happy to feed them, play with them, chill with them, keep an eye on them, take them out for walks, smother them with love, whatever you require!
About: My passion for caring for pets and ensuring they feel loved and safe is imperial. I can match the energy of your pet, whether they are calm or energetic so they feel right at home. I am currently a student and have a lot of independent study time that I can do from anywhere. I typically have Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays off, as well as the weekend. I enjoy going on walks and spending time outdoors and love the company of a pet! I will ensure your pet is safe and protected at all times. I will be sure to confirm if they can be with other animals or humans and make sure they are always comfortable. I am a very organized and clean individual and will keep your home tidy.
“Emma is a very personable young lady who is very confident and capable with handling dogs. She has a relaxed and friendly approach with owners and has quickly achieved a happy rapport with our excitable and cuddlesome 2year old girl. Our Staffy Misty gives her a warm welcome and likes to be next to her and brings her toys for play. Most importantly Misty is comfortable with and happy to be with Emma. We will be using Emma whenever she is available and Misty needs home sitting. Emma provides a responsible and reliable able service at all times.”

About: I’ve got loads of experience with all types of animals having grown up with all types such as cats, dogs, birds, pigs.. even alpacas! Very flexible to suit your needs. I am self employed and work from home most of the time so I have lots of availability for sits and visits throughout the week I live in a one bed flat without outside space. So would be better suited to do home visits if needed. Very central in York
About: I have 3 years of experience working as a kennel assistant in a veterinary practice, caring for patients and cleaning out their kennels. I regularly fed, cleaned, gave medication and walked the pets in the practice. I also helped nurses to administer injections, and help with newborn animals and end-of-life care. I grew up with cats, dogs, budgies and Guinea pigs, and both parents were vets so we regularly had overnight patients staying with us. I have more recently lived with flatmates and co-cared for their pets such as cats and dogs. I have dog- and cat-sat informally for friends and family. I love animals and know how to care for them with compassion, love, and authority where needed. I work full-time in a remote position for a sustainability initiative and have time to look after your lovely pets between 6-9am, between 12-2pm (depending on meetings) and after 6pm on weekdays. On occasion, I have to be in the office in London, or on work trips abroad which can reduce my regular availability. I live in a flat with a flatmate who is also a cat and dog lover, and can on occasion host pets there. To note, while I try to keep my availability up-to-date, the nature of my work and personal life (I am a primary carer for a cancer patient) can sometimes affect my availability, although I try to keep a consistent schedule. I live in a raised ground-floor flat near some wonderful green spaces for walking your dog. I live with a flatmate who is also a cat and dog lover, and we both grew up surrounding by large and small animals. Our home is down a cul-de-sac with little traffic, and is a generally peaceful place without much noise. Our neighbours have a dog who is very well-behaved, and pets are allowed in our building, however we do not have our own pets, nor any equipment that goes alongside that! So we would hugely appreciate it if you can bring your own bowls/beds with you when requesting overnight or daytime stays :)

Dog owners share their Rover experiences - York
Lauren was an excellent communicator and was very respectful of our home. I appreciate the cute details in the walk updates and it's lovely to know he was so well cared for while we were unavailable. We came home to a happy, sleepy hound so I couldn't ask for more! ❤️

Naya’s second outing with Esme and hopefully just the beginning of a beautiful friendship! Everything was perfect. I am an anxious dog mum but Esme is reliable and communicative and I quickly felt at ease that my girl was well cared for. Thanks Esme- hope to see you again soon!

James has been an extremely reliable and brilliant dog walker! He always walks my dog at the time I ask, and I always felt comfortable with James letting himself into the house to take my dog for walks. Always loved seeing the pictures James would take of my dog on his walks. Would recommend James to anyone! 😊
