Having walked neighbour’s dogs from a young age and grown up with cats, I’m very comfortable looking after both. I have been on Rover since the start of 2026, and have done pet-sitting in my home, in their own home, as well as on a drop-in basis. I have experience with a wide range of breeds, ages and temperaments. I like to live an active life myself so higher energy dogs aren’t an issue! I’d be keen to follow your own routines with your pet to give them consistency, and of course give them a happy, safe and comfortable time with me. I also make sure to give consistent updates to owners so they know how their pet is doing - pets really are part of the family!

Helen cared for our dog for 2 nights, she provided daily updates and Bear has returned to us very happy and well cared for. He's clearly been exercised well and made use of her doggy friendly garden. Will definitely be booking in again 🥰
Helen looked after our elderly whippet , Winston, yesterday. We were very impressed with the care and the professionalism she showed. When she visited to meet him, she arrived promptly and quickly ascertained what was needed to look after him successfully. Helen came to sit with Tess for part of a day. Tess was perfectly happy and relaxed with her, and Helen was friendly and asked all the right questions. Very happy with Helen.

Schedule
I work full time Mon-Fri, generally at home on Mondays and Fridays, so dog sitting on long weekends is particularly good when I can give them undivided attention. I’d be happy doing duties before/after work and during my lunch hour when I’m at the office too. Weekend-wise, I’m entirely available and flexible to cater to the dog’s usual exercise routines. I can offer at least 2 good walks a day and can feed according to your dog’s usual routine (please provide their regular food). I would keep routines consistent and watch for any changes in behaviour, and provide regular photo/message updates so you feel connected.

I treat all pets as though they’re my own - with a lot of love, patience and care! I’m trustworthy to provide the best possible care for your pet whether they are staying in my house or your own, and would respect your space if doing drop in visits and be particularly careful about locking up when leaving. If they’re staying with me, my house is in a quiet area with a secure, dog-proof garden. I would do my best to follow your pet’s routines to give them as much consistency as possible. I would also ensure to give you regular updates on how your pet is doing and what they’re getting up to! My aim is for your pet to return to you happy and relaxed.
A typical day
I live in Woodthorpe (York) near Hob Moor and the Knavesmire, so would be able to offer varied local exercise - not just limited to the streets. If they enjoy longer walks/are ok in the car, I can take them further afield eg Dalby Forest. I’d also make sure to play with them to provide them with mental stimulation as well as general attention (aka cuddles!). Equally, for older or more laidback dogs, a chilled stroll and snoozing on the sofa suits me just fine! My garden is enclosed and dog-proof so they can potter around safely. If your dog gets particularly muddy, I would of course bath them free of charge!

- Please let me know if there are any specific things to note about your pet eg brushing, dietary requirements, specific commands you use, car travelling, medication. Would also be great if you can provide their food/bowls/bedding/favourite toys for familiarity for them. I would try to be as consistent as possible with the routines they’re already used to, so any info to make the transition seamless for them would be appreciated! Looking after somebody’s pet has to be the right fit for the owner, pet and sitter, so I’m more than happy to have a casual discussion/meet up to see if we’d be a good match.
