“Ami was absolutely amazing with our kitten Figaro. This was our first time going away since getting him, so we were a bit nervous, but she made the whole experience so easy and reassuring. She sent us detailed updates with the cutest photos, which we really looked forward to every day. It was clear she followed all our instructions carefully, including Figaro’s little quirks (like his specific way of taking omega-3 and how he likes to play). Most importantly, we could see how relaxed and happy he was with her. He clearly really liked her. Ami took the job seriously and gave Figaro so much care and attention. We wouldn’t hesitate to book her again 💛”

About: I have experience caring for both dogs and cats, having grown up with pets throughout my life. I'm confident in providing day-to-day care, including feeding, walking, administering medication, and ensuring pets are happy, safe, and well looked after. Growing up, whilst having my own family's pets, I also regularly walked dogs for neighbours, giving me experience with dogs of different sizes and personalities. I have also previously cat sat which included feeding, refreshing water, cleaning litter trays, and giving cats the attention and care they need while their owners are away. I work from home at least three days a week, which means I can provide plenty of care and attention for pets during the week as well as at weekends. My flexible work schedule also allows me to fit in regular walks and drop-in visits. I live close to the racecourse, so have lots of green space nearby, making it the perfect location for walks and fresh air. Whether your dog loves long adventures or prefers a gentle stroll, I'm happy to tailor walks to their needs. I'm also available for pet sitting at your home, so they can stay comfortable in their familiar surroundings while you’re away. As someone who spends much of the day working at a desk, I enjoy getting outside for walks. However, when back at my house, your pet will have plenty of companionship and attention throughout the day. Your pet's safety and comfort are my top priorities. I have a fully fenced, secure garden where dogs can safely enjoy time outdoors, as well as easy access to large green spaces nearby for regular walks and exercise. I'm happy to adapt to your pet's usual routine and any specific care requirements, including crate training, medication schedules, feeding routines, or sleeping arrangements. Just let me know your preferences in advance, and I'll do my best to keep their stay as familiar and stress-free as possible. I also have two cats at home. To ensure everyone's comfort and safety, they will be kept in a separate, secure area of the house throughout any dog boarding stay, so your dog can relax and enjoy the space.
“What an amazing experience! Johnny looked after our cat for a week while we were in Morocco- we came back to a happy shiny cat and a pristine house. He is respectful, thoughtful and very friendly. Luna has the best time and I can’t recommend her new friend Johnny highly enough! Brilliant service!”

“Octavia-Louise was a godsend today when we needed help to look after our boy who has recently been attacked. He took to her immediately and is clearly very kind hearted. As I was also attacked this has been such a benefit to me to know he’s been taken care of when I had to go out”

About: Hi, I’ve grown up with dogs all my life and I’ve come back from university for a long holiday break and would love to welcome your dog into my family’s home to stay. I’m also available for dog walking and day care. We can offer a fenced and safe garden, comfortable sofa and plenty of time for cuddles, company, walks and playtime to all the dogs that stay with us. Our home is very dog friendly and full of treats and toys. We live local to the river and multiple green spaces for a variety of walks. Our family dog, Willow, is 5 years old, she’s an independent miniature poodle. I am happy to arrange a meet and greet before any booking if you would like to see how your dog gets on. I can also easily accommodate separate walks for your dog if you prefer. I want to make your pet feel like this is their home from home so if they have any special requests to make them feel comfortable then please feel free to ask 😁 I’m back from university so I’m available most days, including weekends. I will also be taking care of my own dog when my parents are at work, so I have plenty of time to spend with your dog. I can easily accommodate a dog crate, if your dog is happiest sleeping there. I have a medium-sized fenced garden and live close to Bootham park and the river for nice walks. Your dog is welcome on the sofa and my priority is making them welcome and comfortable.
“Lucy did amazing with looking after my anxious cat. She followed every instruction left which gave me total peace of mind while I was away! I would 100% recommend her to anyone and I wouldn’t hesitate to book her again in the future.”

About: I have had pets since I was 10 years old. I have had cats, dogs and kittens and also rabbits. I have experience looking after people’s kittens/cats/senior cats and also puppies/adult dogs and senior dogs. I have medication administration experience as our old senior cat had medical conditions which required medication. I love looking after furbabies to ensure their individual needs are being met taking into consideration their different personalities. I currently work a 9-5 job Monday to Friday but I am free evenings and over the weekend. Over the weekend I am more flexible to look after pets in my own home, take them for walks and do drop in sessions. I can also offer dog walking/ drop in sessions in the evening after work hours. I have a fenced backyard for your furbaby and I am a 5 minute walk away from a field. I am available to meet up prior to a sit/walk or drop in so I am able to meet you and your furbaby so you can assess who is going to look after your family member.

I know how important it is to feel confident that your dog is safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away. Whether it’s going on long walks or simply giving plenty of love attention, I’ll make sure your pup gets exactly what they need whilst their mum or dad are away. I’m attentive to their needs, experienced in handling high-energy dogs, and committed to giving each dog the love and care they deserve. If you’re looking for someone reliable, patient, and passionate about dogs, I’d love to help! I work from home the majority of the time and have plenty of opportunity to give your pet the love and care it deserves, with regular walks, toilet breaks and cuddles! I have a fenced garden and a friendly cocker spaniel to keep your pup company! At your home, I will be more than happy to take instructions and look after your pet / home as needed to minimize disruption to their routine as much as possible.

“Claudia is super lovely and friendly and I knew right away she’d be perfect to take care of our cats. Excellent communication before and during the visit, we will definitely book her next time! ”

I enjoy looking after pets and giving them enrichment I am free in the evenings and on Sunday and Mondays at the moment. So would be be able to fit it it around my schedule. I would help with feeding pets and follow clear instructions. I am more than happy to play and spend time with pets, clean up litter etc. I love walking dogs and playing fetch with them.
About: I have hands-on experience caring for both dogs and cats, having looked after pets for family, friends and neighbours, as well as owning both a dog and cats myself. This has given me a good understanding of their individual personalities, routines and needs. Whether it’s feeding, walking, playtime, administering basic care or simply providing companionship, I always ensure pets feel safe, comfortable and well cared for while their owners are away. I understand how important it is to maintain a pet’s routine and will treat every animal with the same care and attention I would give my own. Pet care fits naturally into my daily and weekly routine. I have a flexible schedule allowing me to provide walks, feeding, playtime and companionship throughout the day. I plan my routine around the pets in my care to ensure they receive constant attention, exercise and affection while maintaining their usual routines. Whether it’s daily visits, walks or overnight care I am committed to providing reliable, attentive care that meets each pet’s individual needs. The safety and wellbeing of every pet is my top priority. I always take the time to understand each pet’s routine, personality and any specific care instructions to help them feel comfortable and secure. Whether caring for pets in my home or an owner’s home I maintain a clean, safe and calm environment ensuring doors and gates are secure, hazardous items are kept out of reach and pets are never left unattended for longer than agreed. I treat every home with respect and can provide regular updates so owners have peace of mind while they’re away.
About: Hi, I’m Ellen, and I’ve been surrounded by dogs and cats my whole life. For years I’ve been entrusted to walk dogs belonging to friends, family and paying customers, and to do drop-in visits for pets. I also walk and care for my own two dogs, Bella and Wilby, on a daily basis. In 2021 I also had the wonderful experience of raising Bella’s litter of 5 puppies in my family home, from their birth right up until they moved in with their new families (apart from Wilby who we decided to keep!). Wilby is an anxious dog and doesn’t get on well with other dogs, so I’m experienced in walking particularly difficult and antisocial dogs. I’m currently a university student, so my pet care fits around my university schedule. I’m available during the early mornings and the evenings, and my availability varies during working hours, but I’ll always be able to make time for your pet. I’m also available throughout the day on Saturdays and Sundays. Whilst on walks, I prefer to stick to green areas rather than roads for both the safety and enjoyment of your pup. I also shower them with all the pets and attention that they could want.

About: I’ve loved and cared for dogs for most of my life. Growing up, my family had a female Pomeranian who was with us for over 10 years, followed by a female Husky. Caring for them gave me experience with dogs of different breeds, sizes and personalities. Now I live with my partner and our spayed female Cockapoo, Loopy. Looking after her has taught me the importance of understanding each dog’s individual needs, routine and personality. I’ve also looked after friends’ dogs, including a large Old English Sheepdog, whom I bathed and cared for, as well as several Cockapoos. One of my friend’s Cockapoos even stayed overnight in our home for a week, so I’m experienced in helping dogs settle into a new environment and feel comfortable. I genuinely love spending time with dogs. I enjoy taking them for walks, visiting parks and going on countryside walks together. I always pay close attention to their behaviour, comfort and wellbeing, and I’ll care for your dog with the same love and attention that I give my own. As a freelancer, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to give dogs plenty of time, attention and companionship throughout the day. Caring for dogs is already a big part of my daily life, as I share my home with my partner and our lovely Cockapoo, Loopy. As a Cockapoo owner myself, I understand the energy, affection and attention this breed needs, and I’m always happy to adapt to each dog’s own routine and personality. Whether your dog enjoys long walks, playtime or simply relaxing with people, I’ll make sure they feel safe, loved and at home. Your dog’s safety, comfort and happiness will always come first. I have a friendly, spayed female Cockapoo who enjoys the company of other dogs. I introduce dogs gradually and never leave them together unsupervised until I’m confident they’re comfortable with each other. I’ll carefully follow your dog’s usual routine, including feeding, walks, medication (if needed) and any special instructions. Every dog is different, so I take the time to understand their personality and make sure they feel relaxed and secure. My goal is for your dog to enjoy their stay just as much as you enjoy your time away.
About: I’ve grown up surrounded by all kinds of animals, from cats and dogs to chickens, horses, and even a rescue fawn! Animals have always been a big part of my life, and caring for them is something I genuinely love. Over the past few years, I’ve had the opportunity to travel the world, including spending time in New Zealand where I was fortunate enough to house-sit and care for some wonderful dogs. I’ve also built up experience through TrustedHousesitters, looking after pets in their own homes and making sure they feel safe, happy and well cared for while their owners are away. I’m very happy to provide references from my TrustedHousesitters stays if you’d like to hear about my experience from previous pet owners. Now that I’m back in the UK and settled in York, I’d love to continue doing what I enjoy and help care for your pets. While I’m not currently able to have a dog of my own, this gives me the perfect opportunity to enjoy plenty of walks, playtime and cuddles with yours! I’ll always treat your pets as if they were my own, taking the time to understand their individual personalities, routines and needs. Whether your dog loves long walks and adventures, a good game of fetch, or simply curling up on the sofa for some company, I’m here to make sure they feel happy, comfortable and loved while you’re away. I know how important it is to leave your pet in someone you can trust, and I’ll do everything I can to give you peace of mind while they’re in my care. I’m primarily available for house-sitting and dog walks at weekends, as I work full-time during the week. Depending on the location, I may also be able to offer midday dog walks during the week, so please feel free to get in touch and I can see what might work. I’d also be happy to consider boarding, although as I live in a flat, this would depend on the size, temperament and individual needs of your pet. I’m always happy to have a chat beforehand to make sure I can provide a comfortable and suitable environment for them. I live in a flat in the city centre, and although I don’t have a garden, I’m a very outdoorsy person and love getting out for walks. I’m often down by the river exploring the local area, usually with a coffee stop at one of the many lovely cafés along the way — so there’s no shortage of opportunities for walks and adventures! When house-sitting, I’m very happy to follow your usual routines and instructions closely. I know every pet is different, so I’ll take the time to understand their individual needs and make sure they feel comfortable, happy and well cared for while you’re away.

I will come round for a meet and greet to make sure me and your fur baby get along great. I also take veterinary details in case of an emergency. I will keep doors, gates, windows secure. I will be round all hours to make sure they are happy and looked after.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs my entire life and have trained or owned pups from every “walk” of life - from small to large, young puppies to elderly pooches, rugged rescues to pampered pedigrees - I’ve loved them all and want to give your precious pup all the attention they deserve! ☺️ I have a precious pup of my own who loves to have new furry friends around! I like to spend a lot of time outside so walks and playing in the field are frequent. Otherwise, we’ll be found studying at one of the dog-friendly coffee shops. 🙂 I take frequent breaks from work to play with my pup so there is no shortage of affection and attention for dogs here! I also have several dog beds in my home office so if your pup likes to snuggle/sit on laps I’m always up for that while I work. 🐶

Thank you so much for taking such good care of Tiger! He settled in really well and seemed very happy and relaxed — much more so than when he stays at a cattery. It was lovely knowing he was comfortable and in good hands while I was away. I’ll definitely be rebooking next time I travel. Thank you again!
I’ve had Connor look over my cats for a few years now and I was more than happy to schedule him again! He’s timely and always provides pictures with his updates, which I appreciate - it’s good to see a little snippet of my cats each day when I’m gone. My girls are messy and he’s very tidy with the cats, cleans the litter trays regularly, and uses the hoover to clean up any messes my cats have left behind. I’ve also forgotten to take out the bins/recycling before when I’ve been traveling. If he’s cat sitting, he always happy to take the bins to the curb. He’s incredibly reliable and my cats love him! I will be definitely be booking him again.

We have used Laena a couple of times now when we’ve away at weekends. We’ve been very happy with her service. Proactive communication, reliable, consistent and professional. Our cat has never seemed stressed or had a change in behaviour when we come back so we know from that he’s been looked after well. Will be using Laena again in the future!

Ciara was fantastic! She came round before my booking to collect a key, meet my cat Calliope and get to know what she needed. Every day of my three day booking, Ciara sent updates and pictures of how Calliope was doing, making sure she was happy by giving her some fuss and playtime :) thank you so much Ciara
I would 100% recommend Ewa and will definitely be booking her again to look after my pets in the future. Ewa looked after my cat for a week, visiting twice a day, and also fed my fish. This was the first time I’d ever left my cat, so I was naturally a little worried. However, Ewa put my mind completely at ease. Despite Rolo usually being quite a skittish cat, he warmed up to Ewa incredibly quickly. Before long, he was actually waiting for her visits each day, which says everything about how comfortable he felt with her. Ewa took fantastic care of him, and it’s obvious she’s a genuine cat lover who really cares about the animals she looks after. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would happily recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring pet sitter.

My partner and I rarely get a chance to go out and not worry about our Cockerpoo, but knowing Jonny was checking in on him made our night a lot more comfortable. Jonny took him out for a walk to do his business and took plenty of photos with our little man smiling. Thank you so much. We have a lot of events planned and will happily use you and recommend you.

Lucy was an excellent pet sitter! She was flexible, caring, and handled our anxious cat Felix really well while we were away. When we came home earlier than planned, she refunded the unused visits without us even asking, which was greatly appreciated. She also watered our plants and checked on our fish, so everything was well looked after. Highly recommended and we'd happily use her services again. Thanks Lucy.

We couldn’t be happier with the care Frank provided during the drop-in visits. Communication was excellent from start to finish: Frank kept me updated after every visit with messages and photos, which gave me real peace of mind while I was away. Winnie can be quite reactive and doesn’t always warm up to new people, but she built trust with Frank surprisingly quickly and was clearly very comfortable. He was also willing to meet her before the drop ins as well, so she wouldn’t be stressed when he came over, which is very thoughtful. He was very responsive, replying quickly to messages and answering any questions or concerns I had. He also kindly changed the visit time at a short notice. I would absolutely book with him again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and professional sitter!

If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
