An academic historian/museum professional based in York. I got my love of cats from my mum and have had cats for 20 years now - first, three beautiful rescues at my parents house, and now my own little calico sweetheart, Frida (aka Fifi) and bundle of energy black cat, Lilith (aka Lily). I live with my partner so he can look after our little one while I look after yours. I have experience with cats from kittens to extremely senior lovelies. I can give all types of medication (oral, creams, injections) and know basic pet first aid. I love to give cuddles and scratches, as well as play and treats. I am experienced with very playful to extremely timid cats and can work to what makes them most comfortable (including basically pretending they’re not there!).

I will treat your property with the utmost respect, and follow any instructions for keeping your little ones safe to the letter - I have had enough experience of keeping my own cats away from escaping from 1st floor apartment windows to make me suitably cautious!

Sofie looked after our two young cats for the second time, and we were so happy to have her look after them again. She kept us updated, did everything we asked and took great care of them. We feel completely confident leaving them in her hands and will definitely ask her to look after them again!
Sophie and Nick were just amazing with our two kitties. We could not ask for better sitters so we would highly recommend. Knowing they were looking after our cats made us feel relaxed and able to enjoy our time away from home. We will certainly ask if they are available to look after our kitties again.
Sophie was great! She came to meet the boys ahead of time, to make sure she knew which one to administer the medication to. Nothing was too much trouble. The cats were happy & relaxed upon our return! Would use Sophie again!
Sophie was amazing with our two cats. It was our first time leaving them for such a long period, and we were quite nervous, but she did everything possible to put our minds at ease. Our cats are very shy and anxious, but Sophie completely understood their needs and made sure they were comfortable and well cared for. She kept us updated promptly after every visit with detailed messages and photos, which gave us great peace of mind. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Sophie to anyone looking for a caring and reliable cat sitter!
I was very happy that I found Sophie to look after my cat. She was very prompt and on time with her check ins, she provided photos/videos and updates which allowed me to enjoy my trip, and she took good care of my cat. I wouldn’t hesitate to contact her again.
Sophie was absolutely fantastic with Clara, we would highly recommend her! From the offset it was obvious she has lots of experience with cats of all sorts and we left feeling confident that Clara would be in good hands. She administered injections and medication to Clara with no problem at all and sent us lots of pics and videos - thank you!

Schedule
I work from home on Mondays and Fridays, and can easily and happily stay overnight or do evening and morning visits. On the days I am WFH, I can do visits during the day as well. While I don’t need to stay at your home during the day for overnight visits, I would be more than happy to, if that would give you piece of mind and help with any feeding/meds schedules.
