“Sheila is absolutely wonderful! She provides such a loving and welcoming environment for my puppy, including plenty of fun with her three beautiful dogs. The care he receives is truly top-notch, and he always comes home exhausted after a full day of playing! Sheila also keeps me updated throughout the day with pictures and videos, so I get to see all the fun he’s having. She has truly been a lifesaver, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the wonderful care she provides!”
“Chieko was an amazing sitter!! She took really good care of my dog, Sunny. She went to take Sunny for a long walk and fed him snacks+food. I felt safe leaving my dog with Chieko.”

“B’ha was cared for while meeting new furry friends. I received (and adored) pictures of her walking and playing through all her stages of arrival, hesitation, acceptance and play. I recommend Alice as a loving doggy person.”

About: I’m a dog mom of 8 years, and caring for animals has always been a big part of my life. Over the years I’ve helped family and friends with their pets—everything from energetic puppies and senior dogs to rabbits, cats, and even goats! I’m comfortable with all kinds of personalities and needs, and I treat every animal like they’re my own. Whether it’s playtime, walks, feeding, or just keeping them company, your pet will get tons of love, attention, and patience while they’re with me. Pet care fits easily into my daily routine because I work from home and have plenty of flexibility. I get regular breaks every two hours and a full hour for lunch, which gives me lots of time for walks, playtime, feeding, and check-ins throughout the day. I also don’t go out much, so I’m home almost all day—meaning your pet will have constant company, attention, and a calm, comfortable environment. Your pet won’t ever feel lonely here! In my home, your pet will have plenty of comfort and space. I live in a spacious home with room for your pet to settle in and feel relaxed. I also have a friendly dog who loves company and gets along well with other pets. You’re welcome to bring any of your pet’s personal items—beds, toys, or a crate—and I have plenty of room to set everything up exactly the way they’re used to. My goal is to make their stay feel safe, familiar, and stress-free.
“This was my fist time booking doggie daycare with Jon. I have a bit of a hyperactive dog, since he is still in his “teenage boy years” just like with human kiddos, fur parents wonder “is he gonna be a bully, will the other kiddos hate him, is he going to be obnoxious?” However, he did great with Jon. Jon was amazing. He sent pics and provide updates throughout the day. My guy came back happy and is sleeping like a baby!”

“Kim took care of my furbaby Asher for an entire week. After meeting quite a few other sitters, I was so relieved to find Kim because I started questioning if I was way too picky. It’s something you can just feel and tell when you meet a potential sitter. I liked Kim immediately. She has a genuine care about her. I could tell she loves dogs by her first interaction with Asher and that was important to me. I’m sure I will book her again in the future. Thanks so much Kim for taking care of my furbaby! Very much appreciated🫶”

“Kyle was incredible with my Coco! I could tell from our meet and greet that our pups would get along great. I am very selective with whom I trust my girl with, so it was nice to meet him in person prior to making final arrangements. Happy to report: he’s great! I was happy to see the photos of Coco’s day, and it was comforting knowing she was in good hands while I had to work to meet all of her demands. Coco was a happy pup and came home ready for bed! So I’d say she had time well spent. Will definitely continue to book with him!”

About: I've always known I was an animal person! I've grown up with cats and dogs since I was 5 years old — 7 family cats and 5 family dogs throughout the years — so I'm familiar with every stage, from puppy and kitten energy all the way through senior care. Personally, I have 3 wonderful pups of my own. We're an active household: we walk every day and make sure to play and engage with them throughout the day, so I understand firsthand what it takes to keep a dog happy, healthy, and mentally stimulated. As someone with three dogs of my own, it's important to me to provide the same level of care I'd want for my own pups. I want you to feel confident that your dog will be looked after just as they would be in your own home with the same patience, attention, and love. I am present full time for your pup! Care fits right into my everyday routine rather than being squeezed in around it, so your dog gets consistent attention throughout the day. After I have a better understanding of your pup's routine we'll go on walks, play in our fenced front and back yard with lots of grass to enjoy, and I'll send you pics and updates along the way so you can see how they're doing. For rest and downtime, we have a private, dog-friendly ADU set up specifically for our furry guests to decompress after play and meals. I'm present in the ADU with them, and we also have a Furbo camera set up for extra monitoring. If your pup enjoys canine company, my Australian Shepherd will keep them company there; if your pup prefers to be the only dog, we'll give them their own separated space and time instead, tailored to what makes them most comfortable. Throughout the day, care naturally rotates between active time outside and quiet time in the ADU, so your pup gets a good balance of exercise, mental stimulation, and rest with me nearby the whole time. Your pet's safety is my top priority, both indoors and out. My front and back yards are fully fenced and gated, with an added interior gate leading to the backyard for extra security. I never let dogs outside unsupervised for extended periods, and I always do a visual check of the yard and gate latches before letting anyone out. We have cameras covering the front yard, so we never open the door to unfamiliar people, and dogs are always leashed the moment we step outside the fenced area. Indoors, I keep household chemicals, medications, and anything toxic to pets safely stored away, and I make sure trash cans and food are out of reach. I follow each pet's normal feeding, water, and bathroom schedule as closely as possible, and I'm comfortable administering medication if needed. If I'm caring for multiple pets at once, I introduce them slowly and supervise their interactions until I'm confident everyone is comfortable together.
About: I’ve take care of every type of animal you can even think of, I’ve had rabbits, dogs, reptiles, cats, horses, guinea pigs, turtles, whatever you name I’ve taken care of it. If someone asked me to take care of their pet raccoon, I’d do it. I always have and always will be an animal Lover. I am part/full time and I’m open whatever days I’m needed. I’m available during the weekdays if you have work and weekends I’d you are busy. I have a fenced yard and my home is always welcome to any dog but if the owner would rather me stay at their home that’s okay with me too.
“We are so grateful for Xenia and her family! Skye is a bit shy at first and Xenia & Co. gave him plenty of space and time to get comfortable. Skye looks forward to going to Xenia’s place to play with Ori and Lola all the time now! From all the photos & videos, it definitely looks like he thinks of Xenia’s place as his second home. 🤣”

“Rosana was great with Nala very knowledgable and it’s very good with dogs. She took great care of my dog Nala and I will definitely use her again. I strongly recommend Rosana to take care of your dog.”

“Elaine has set the bar high! This was our first Rover appointment ever, and Elaine's thoroughness, responsiveness, updates and obvious care for our dog made the experience so great! She provided so many updates, and even sent us a video she made. :) Thank you Elaine for taking such great care of Pepper! She was absolutely pooped the next day, so I know she had a blast. :)”

About: I work from home full time, so any dog who stays with us gets real company all day long, not just a quick hello before someone rushes out the door. My own dog, Zeca, a four-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, is basically my co-sitter. He's friendly, easygoing, and genuinely loves other dogs, so new guests usually relax within the first hour because he shows them around. We live in North Redondo close to the beach and have a good-sized backyard, so there's plenty of space to run, dig, sunbathe, or just wander around without ever feeling cooped up. I'll be upfront: I'm not a certified trainer, and I'm not going to pretend otherwise. What I do have is years of hands-on experience as a dog owner, the kind that teaches you to read a dog's mood, know when they want space versus attention, and tell the difference between excited and anxious. That's the experience I bring to every dog I host, and I treat each one the way I'd want someone to treat Zeca. Because I work from home, pet care isn't squeezed into a lunch break, it's part of the whole day. Mornings start with a walk, around the neighborhood or nearby park, followed by breakfast and some backyard time while I work nearby. There's usually a midday break for play or another walk, and evenings wind down slow, either on the couch or out in the yard before bed. Dogs in my care are never left alone for long stretches. I'm home, and I'm checking in constantly, not just during scheduled visits. For both boarding and day care, dogs stay right here with us. Not in a kennel, not crated all day. They get the run of the backyard, a comfortable spot indoors, fresh water always available, and meals kept on whatever schedule matches their normal routine at home. I ask for those specifics upfront so nothing feels disruptive. Zeca is around for company and play if a guest is social, and just as happy to give a quiet dog some one-on-one time instead if that's what they need. I send photo updates throughout the stay so you can see exactly how your dog's day is going, and any instructions you give me on feeding, meds, or routine are treated as non-negotiable, not suggestions.
“We were so lucky to find Samantha on Rover. Our 90lb puppy had minor stitches so during the day we needed someone to watch him to make sure he didn’t mess with his injury. We got way more than that - Duke was walked, watched and spoiled. He came home tired 🙏 and happy. Highly recommend”

About: Hi! My name is Emely and my love for animals started before I could walk. I currently have 3 dogs I call my babies. We have Oso, Pumbaa and Chula. 1 English bulldogs and 2 French bulldogs. What can I say? I’m obsessed with the squishy faces. I have years of experience working around animals. I did dog nutrition for 2 years, I worked with rover for a few years and I also worked in the veterinary field as a technician for 3 years. I’m currently a SAHM but looking to rekindle my love for caring for other’s babies again. I am a SAHM with a very easy going schedule. Besides caring for my fur babies and kids. I am usually unavailable after 4/5pm weekdays. I am very attentive when I look after someone’s fur baby. I look at not only energy level but little details how their characters are.
“Summit loved hanging out with Jasmine for the day! She was very communicative and I appreciated the proactive meet and greet. Would definitely use her again and recommend her”

I was very happy to see that Alika was not stressed when I picked her up. Her photos show that she looked relaxed and comfortable. I feel so much more confident in leaving Alika with Stephanie when I leave for a vacation. Thank you Stephanie for taking such good care of my baby.

As a first time Rover user I was very hesitant to leave my 2 year old pup with someone who wasn’t a relative and in her own home. Everyone I know who had used Rover had great things to say, but when you get your companion at 12 weeks old and spend almost every moment with them for almost 2 years it can be difficult to leave them with anyone new. Pia eased my worries right away and take incredible care of my German Shorthaired Pointer, Tootsie. If you don’t know how energetic GSP’s are, they need lots of exercise daily. Pia and her family took excellent care of Tootsie and I couldn’t be more pleased with how well she was taken care of. My dog makes herself at home wherever she goes but Pia made Tootsie feel right at home, so much so that I’m not sure she wanted to leave when I came to pick her up! I received plenty of pictures/updates on how she was doing and all the fun she was having while I had to travel out of town for a few days. I don’t expect to need any pet sitting services for a while but I would absolutely rebook with Pia again! 11/10!

Kimberly is a wonderful, kind, caring, loving, and attentive dog sitter. I love her loving energy and her love for dogs. I found a perfect sitter for my dog. I can feel confident and secure while I’m away knowing my dog is in good care under Kimberly. I highly recommend her!

Eiko is a very nice, caring, and reliable dog sitter. Her house is very clean, stylish, and there is ample space for dogs to run around, play, or lounge outdoors. I felt comfortable and at peace knowing that my dog was under Eiko’s supervision and care. I highly recommend Eiko for dog sitting and boarding.

Luther had such an absolute amazing time. We could tell from the photo and video updates (he had zoomies and rolled all over Annie’s rug showing how much he was loving being there). On top of that Luther looked like he got along with Kina and they understood each other. What a perfect match for our fur baby. We will definitely be reaching out for another play date soon.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
