“Jon is wonderful! My dog is very high energy and can be a real handful. He treated her with patience and kindness. She got lots of exercise. Jon sent me video of her having fun with a new doggie friend. She’s very sensitive, so I know he treated her well because she was happy to see me, but not going totally crazy when I picked her up. It’s obvious when she’s stressed or unhappy. She was calm and serene.Jon accommodated my last minute request for daycare AND a late pick up. He’s a nice guy and I recommend him! I will definitely use him again.”

About: I’ve take care of every type of animal you can even think of, I’ve had rabbits, dogs, reptiles, cats, horses, guinea pigs, turtles, whatever you name I’ve taken care of it. If someone asked me to take care of their pet raccoon, I’d do it. I always have and always will be an animal Lover. I am part/full time and I’m open whatever days I’m needed. I’m available during the weekdays if you have work and weekends I’d you are busy. I have a fenced yard and my home is always welcome to any dog but if the owner would rather me stay at their home that’s okay with me too.
“Chieko was an amazing sitter!! She took really good care of my dog, Sunny. She went to take Sunny for a long walk and fed him snacks+food. I felt safe leaving my dog with Chieko.”

“Tofu had a great time with Pia for doggy daycare! She was with Pia for two days, and Pia did a wonderful job of taking care of her. Pia was very responsive and provided updates, as well as taking Tofu out for walks + feeding her dinner. Overall, would definitely recommend and rebook with her in the future!”

“So grateful we found Eiko. We got wonderful updates with photos and videos, and I swear our little boy was smiling in all of them. I could tell he felt right at home with her and very loved and safe.”

“Kyle was quick to reply to a last minute dog sitting request, and I’m so grateful he was able to help. He was flexible, accommodating, and very responsive throughout the entire process. This was my first time putting my puppy in daycare, but he reassured me and made me feel confident that my puppy was in good hands. He clearly has experience with puppies and even puppy socialization. I’ll definitely be coming back!”

“B’ha was cared for while meeting new furry friends. I received (and adored) pictures of her walking and playing through all her stages of arrival, hesitation, acceptance and play. I recommend Alice as a loving doggy person.”

“Kim took care of my furbaby Asher for an entire week. After meeting quite a few other sitters, I was so relieved to find Kim because I started questioning if I was way too picky. It’s something you can just feel and tell when you meet a potential sitter. I liked Kim immediately. She has a genuine care about her. I could tell she loves dogs by her first interaction with Asher and that was important to me. I’m sure I will book her again in the future. Thanks so much Kim for taking care of my furbaby! Very much appreciated🫶”

About: I’m a dog mom of 8 years, and caring for animals has always been a big part of my life. Over the years I’ve helped family and friends with their pets—everything from energetic puppies and senior dogs to rabbits, cats, and even goats! I’m comfortable with all kinds of personalities and needs, and I treat every animal like they’re my own. Whether it’s playtime, walks, feeding, or just keeping them company, your pet will get tons of love, attention, and patience while they’re with me. Pet care fits easily into my daily routine because I work from home and have plenty of flexibility. I get regular breaks every two hours and a full hour for lunch, which gives me lots of time for walks, playtime, feeding, and check-ins throughout the day. I also don’t go out much, so I’m home almost all day—meaning your pet will have constant company, attention, and a calm, comfortable environment. Your pet won’t ever feel lonely here! In my home, your pet will have plenty of comfort and space. I live in a spacious home with room for your pet to settle in and feel relaxed. I also have a friendly dog who loves company and gets along well with other pets. You’re welcome to bring any of your pet’s personal items—beds, toys, or a crate—and I have plenty of room to set everything up exactly the way they’re used to. My goal is to make their stay feel safe, familiar, and stress-free.
About: I have had a dog in the home for 16 years and have also had three cats. I live in a good sized apartment right next to a large park, I take my dog out 3-5 times a day since we work from home. I do not feed any human foods to our dogs other than veggies and fruits that are safe for consumption. Very cautious to bloat in dogs as our dog is 25% great dane. My dog is well trained and is up to date with all vaccinations and is on flea medication. I work from home and have a 2.5 yr old dog. She is a Labrador and 25% great dane. She is well trained and super friendly and gentle. She gets more than 3 walks a day as she lives playing fetch. I am mostly always home unless I need to run to the store and gym in the morning. I have one friendly and playful dog, we go out 3-5 times a day and lots of grassy areas nearby. We keep an eye on her at all times since I do work from home. She gets fed twice a day with occasional doggy treats for being the best dog.
“We can see that Toro thoroughly enjoyed himself at his first time at day care with Elaine. He came home so tired after a full day of playing with so many variety of dogs. He ate dinner and slept for the rest of the evening. Thanks so much for taking care of our Mr Toro and giving us a piece of mind.”

“Summit loved hanging out with Jasmine for the day! She was very communicative and I appreciated the proactive meet and greet. Would definitely use her again and recommend her”

“Meeko had a great first time at Wendy’s home. I loved how she sent me videos to see how he was doing midday. Meeko was able to play outside and interact with another dog which he rarely gets a chance to do since we live in an apartment. Wendy is very responsive and very nice. We will definitely be back.”

“Bogie LOVES Deeja and Luc and their dog Milo. She’s always so excited to go to them for day care or boarding. They take great care of her and she seems relaxed and happy after time there.”

“We are so grateful for Xenia and her family! Skye is a bit shy at first and Xenia & Co. gave him plenty of space and time to get comfortable. Skye looks forward to going to Xenia’s place to play with Ori and Lola all the time now! From all the photos & videos, it definitely looks like he thinks of Xenia’s place as his second home. 🤣”

“Cynthia was so caring and wonderful. Although today was our first time spending time with Cynthia, I know that my dog was very well taken care of. I also appreciated her beautiful photos! Thank you, Cynthia!”

“This was his very first time at an all-day daycare, and I was honestly pretty nervous leaving him. From the start, Shardae made everything feel so easy and reassuring. She sent thoughtful updates and photos throughout the day, and every single one showed a happy, relaxed pup who was clearly being cared for and loved. Seeing him playing and comfortable truly put my mind at ease. All I ever want is for my dog to feel safe, happy, and loved, and that is exactly what Shardae provided. Total success. I would absolutely trust her again and recommend her to anyone looking.”

Kyle was incredible with my Coco! I could tell from our meet and greet that our pups would get along great. I am very selective with whom I trust my girl with, so it was nice to meet him in person prior to making final arrangements. Happy to report: he’s great! I was happy to see the photos of Coco’s day, and it was comforting knowing she was in good hands while I had to work to meet all of her demands. Coco was a happy pup and came home ready for bed! So I’d say she had time well spent. Will definitely continue to book with him!

Kimberly is a wonderful, kind, caring, loving, and attentive dog sitter. I love her loving energy and her love for dogs. I found a perfect sitter for my dog. I can feel confident and secure while I’m away knowing my dog is in good care under Kimberly. I highly recommend her!

Eiko is a very nice, caring, and reliable dog sitter. Her house is very clean, stylish, and there is ample space for dogs to run around, play, or lounge outdoors. I felt comfortable and at peace knowing that my dog was under Eiko’s supervision and care. I highly recommend Eiko for dog sitting and boarding.

Luther had such an absolute amazing time. We could tell from the photo and video updates (he had zoomies and rolled all over Annie’s rug showing how much he was loving being there). On top of that Luther looked like he got along with Kina and they understood each other. What a perfect match for our fur baby. We will definitely be reaching out for another play date soon.

Shy was amazing with our fur baby! I stayed with Rocket until he was comfortable and all settled in. You could tell she was caring, understanding and met all of his needs. He had a blast with her two dogs. She had lots of toys that he loved playing with and was allowed access to their home. I’m so lucky to have found her. Thank you Shy for taking such good care of Rocket. We cannot wait to come back.

Chloe is the best. My pup has the most fun and feels very safe. He is a timid dog, and often chooses to laze around. Not so much now! I am receiving photos and videos of him trotting along on walks, having the zoomies, and playing with her dog. He took to Chloe and her dog right away and runs out of the car to greet her. Her place is certainly dog friendly. My pup rests on a mini-mountain of blankets on the couch. One photo shows him is curled up in one of her dog beds with one of her dog's furry animal toys. We're loving our time with Chloe.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Torrance commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
