“I had never heard of Rover.com before and stumbled upon it. I was nervous about taking my dog to be cared for by someone I didn't know. As soon as I saw Perla's profile pic I immediately felt at ease. She was great with Moose and kept me updated all day. I will definitely use this service and Perla again!”

About: I’ve helped train, and care for dogs for several years, and I love working with all sizes and breeds. It makes my day to be able to work with dogs and be able to care for them. Currently have a flexible schedule, as I make my own hours and with part time work and online classes. Willing to work on weekends as well. I work well with schedules and instructions particular to each individual dog. I make sure to follow what the dog parents goals are when it comes to care, as well as bring a fun and loving energy to every dog I care for.
“Dorle was SO wonderful with my dog Arthur. So easy to work with, very trustworthy, and gave me lots of updates throughout the day. Her house is dog HEAVEN. Wish I could stay with Dorle and Arthur could go to work. Thank you so much!”

“Thank you so much! She is BEST sitter for us. She sent many photos for us. So We could know how our fur baby were doing. My dog had a very relaxing stay and is very good condition the next day. We'll definitely request again next time.”

About: I grew up with dogs and cats and can understand how they are feeling. There is a huge park nearby that I can take them on their daily walks and exercise if opting to stay at my place. In general, I love taking care of them like they are my own. I work full time remotely on East Coast hours, which means I finish my work early while spending more time to take care and play with your fur baby! I live by myself and can fully dedicate and commit my time to your dog or cat's needs. I have a plenty of space for your fur baby along with a fenced patio if caring in my home. I can easily crate your dog if needed. I stay with your fur babies and take lots of pictures throughout the day to make sure they're having a good and relaxing time with me.
About: I’ve had pets my whole life, so taking care of animals just feels natural to me. I’m patient, reliable, and genuinely enjoy spending time with all kinds of pets. Your fur baby will be treated like family with me. I currently work from home and work at my own pace with lots of down time to spend with animals. I would like to spend that down time caring for pets. My pets are family at my home. All pets are welcomed and treated as family. Home has a big yard for pets to be outside or spend time with me at home.
“We are so grateful for Elaine and Izzy! They were amazing, we were super anxious as this was Cata’s first dog care day ever! They made it so easy and pleasant! Photos of Cata keep arriving all day AND WE LOVE THEM!! She had a blast! Thank you for your love and for caring so much, Cata loves you and can’t wait to come back for another fun day ❤️”

“Bogie LOVES Deeja and Luc and their dog Milo. She’s always so excited to go to them for day care or boarding. They take great care of her and she seems relaxed and happy after time there.”

“Sonish is amazing! Gave us plenty of updates and pics / videos throughout the day. Elmo loved spending time with him and Kobe! Their place has plenty of toys and love. Would highly recommend :)”

About: I have a 25lb goldendoodle named Churro 😊 I currently cannot commit to getting another fur baby; however, would love to watch your furbaby and treat him/her like family 💕 I'm currently a stay-at-home mom with two sweetest boys (one furbaby, one hooman). If I do go out to run errands, I'm back home no more than 2 hrs later. I have a fenced yard and a furfriend + toddler to keep your fur baby company. If you provide a crate, I can easily crate your fur baby for extra protection.
“Hiromi is such a great sitter. So easy going and wonderful! She loves my Cookie and is so caring. Cookie really enjoyed the staying with Hiromi. I received pictures during the staying and was really happy to see the photos!”

About: Hi! I’m a lifelong animal lover and experienced dog owner living in the Seaside neighborhood of Torrance. I currently have two Rhodesian Ridgebacks and a Mini Australian Shepherd, so I’m very comfortable caring for dogs of different sizes and energy levels. My dogs are part of my family, and we stay active every day. We enjoy daily walks, hiking, trips to the dog beach, and playdates. I know how important it is for dogs to get both physical exercise and mental stimulation. I grew up surrounded by animals, including dogs, horses, chickens, rabbits, and cats, so caring for animals has always been a natural part of my life. I work from home during the week, and now that my kids are away at college, I have more time to dedicate to caring for pets. Whether your dog needs a neighborhood walk, extra exercise, or a longer adventure on a local hiking trail, I’d love to help keep them happy, healthy, and active. I treat every pet as if they were my own and understand that trust, safety, and communication are the most important parts of caring for someone else’s beloved companion. SAFETY & COMPATIBILITY Your dog’s safety, my safety, and the safety of my pets are always my top priorities. I welcome friendly dogs of all sizes—from tiny pups to large breeds—as long as they are comfortable being handled by someone new. Because every dog is different, I require a meet-and-greet before accepting new clients. For dog walking, I’d like to meet your dog first to ensure we’re both comfortable together and that your dog walks calmly on a leash around people and other dogs. If I’m caring for your dog in my home, a meet-and-greet with my dogs is also required to make sure everyone gets along and feels comfortable. While I have many years of experience caring for dogs, I am not a professional dog trainer or behaviorist. For everyone’s safety, I only accept dogs that are friendly with people and can be safely managed on walks and in new environments. If your dog has a history of aggression toward people or other dogs, I may not be the right sitter for your pet. I love puppies and will take in un-spayed or un neutered young puppies (less than 9 months old), at my discretion. I work remote from home and have the flexibility to visit or walk your dog. I have my own three dogs that hang out with me when I work at my desk. I have some flexibility to take a dog to join us to hang out for the day or night. I walk the dogs every afternoon. I have a fenced yard, three friendly dogs to keep your’s company and an XL crate if needed. If I am dog sitting, I would not leave your dog home alone and unattended. There is shaded patio, artificial turf for running and not getting dirty, I have a magnetic screen so my dogs are free to walk in and out of the house at leisure.
“Chieko was an amazing sitter!! She took really good care of my dog, Sunny. She went to take Sunny for a long walk and fed him snacks+food. I felt safe leaving my dog with Chieko.”

“Tofu had a great time with Pia for doggy daycare! She was with Pia for two days, and Pia did a wonderful job of taking care of her. Pia was very responsive and provided updates, as well as taking Tofu out for walks + feeding her dinner. Overall, would definitely recommend and rebook with her in the future!”

“Sara + Jose are Amazing! Our Puppy Bowie loves it there with his doodle buddies. They are caring, kind, flexible, and great communicators. We are so grateful to have them for Bowie.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Lomita
Dorle took wonderful care of my dog, Eros! From the moment we met her, I felt he was in great hands. She is kind, responsible, and genuinely loves animals. She kept me updated with messages and photos, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. Eros came home happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. I highly recommend Dorle to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter. Thank you so much for taking such great care of Eros, we will definitely book with you again!
Bailey had such a blast at daycare with Liz, Ash & their dog, Miles! We knew our pup would be in great hands as soon as we met Liz & Ash, they are super friendly and extremely responsive. They made us feel comfortable right away and took such great care of Bailey while we were at work with frequent updates. They have a beautiful backyard that our dog loved so much - I think she had a hard time coming home afterwards! Their dog Miles is high energy (super great playmate) but is also very respective of our dogs boundaries when she didn’t want to play or share toys. He’s a very good boy! We definitely recommend Liz & Ash and Bailey will be back!!

Zahara is amazing, she was very caring and loving for my pup! My puppy Rue is very active and she was able to play and keep Rue company. I can tell from Rue's energy that she had a great and safe time at Zaharas home! Her place is perfect for dogs! She kept me updated at all times which was really good

Hiromi was wonderful with our mini goldendoodle Mozzie! She was very generous letting us walk Mozzie to her door to help him get settled (as this was one of his first Rover experiences). We received lots of photos and video of Mozzie snuggling on her couch and playing with the other dog she was watching that day. She fed him lunch and walked him around the grounds of her gated apartment complex so he could get out for some exercise. Hiromi was also flexible when we had to make a later pick up time than we expected. Mozzie is already looking forward to his next visit 😀 Thank you Hiromi!

We met Keith, Cara and their daughter for a meet and greet since we weren’t sure how our dog was going to be around children, and we instantly felt welcomed and they will be able to take good care of our pup! We made them aware that our dog might slightly be anxious around strangers, but he ended up settling in their house at the end of the day. They sent us many photos (which we appreciated) and updated us on how our dog is doing. They were also very flexible with the pickup/drop off times. We definitely will be using their services again!

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
