About: New to Rover, but not new to caring for pets: I am an empty nester who loves dogs and cats. I’m easy-going and have cared for both puppies and older dogs, and I look forward to keeping your pet safe and happy while you’re away. When I pet sit, I’ll send you lots of photos and videos to reassure you that all is well. I won’t list myself as available on weekends when I know I will be in and out too much to give your pet the attention s/he deserves. I have a small fenced/gated area, and the gate is tall. We have a dog door we can utilize or lock depending on your preference. There is a small section of artificial grass outside. Indoors, dogs are allowed on the couch with me unless you prefer I not allow it. I can walk them in the morning early, usually between 7:00-7:30 am. Afternoon walks are typically between 2:30-4:00. I am flexible with when evening walks happen. Dogs don’t ever have to be crated here, but I can do so if you provide the crate. On the weekends, I can certainly let them out more often than the 4-8 hours indicated on the app. Some weekdays, however, fall within that window depending on my work schedule. I require proof or rabies and other vaccines at the meet and greet, please.

“Book Lori to take care of your dog YESTERDAY--you will not find a better sitter. Lori was so amazing with my dog. He is meek and shy, but he warmed right up to her. She has a really calm, gentle energy that put him at ease right away, and her clean, bright home with a spacious backyard (full of squirrels) was a heavenly retreat for my pooch while I was at a conference. I could tell he was happy from the pictures she sent of him playing in the yard, rubbing up on bushes on their walks, and snoozing happily in one of the many cozy dog spots in her home. Her updates observed the same funny behaviors that I love about him and showed how much she liked and cared for my special guy. Also, normally he can't wait to go home from day care, but when I arrived to get him from Lori's each day, he would come say hi to me but then run back to squirrel patrol, so I know he felt very important and busy while he was there! Lori is a super fast communicator via the Rover app, and she's flexible and easygoing with timing. So easy to work with as a professional (not all dog people are), and I could not imagine a more perfect friend for my dog to spend time with while I was at work. It is a great relief to know I have someone I can totally trust and feel good about leaving my dog with when I'm in the area. Happy to give Lori our highest recommendation--five paws up!”

About: I’ve had my dog, Milo, since he was a puppy and I basically take him anywhere he is welcomed. As someone who was scared of dogs as a child, I made it a priority to understand my own dog. I learned plenty about dog enrichment and body language, which has helped Milo become a well-adjusted and socialized dog. My approach to dog walking is allowing the pups to obtain enrichment through walking with brief stops for quick training. About: I have taken care of a variety of animals since I was a young kid and have had a dog virtually my entire life, sometimes a few dogs at once and many cats too. I have been a fish, dog, and cat parent for about thirty years or more of my adult life and ongoing. Recently completed a twelve-week obedience training course with our German Shepherd. Plenty of work to do. We also have done pet sitting for friends, as they have also done for us over the many years. We have cared for many a senior dog or cat, as they have been ours. We have always had and cared for animals through their entire life cycle. Before Rover dog care and dog walking of other peoples pets, aside from friends pets was not something we had done as a business, but taking care of animals, especially dogs is an activity I have been doing my entire life, every day. We walk our own dog a couple of times daily. I have owned and cared for many dogs. I currently own a two year old White German Shepherd, which is very socialized. He is a silly one. I have some experience in training, in as much as myself and my GSD went through twelve weeks of obedience classes through PetSmart to help get him setup for success. My primary business is in IT. I work from home almost every day. I have an independent IT consulting company, working for myself since 2003, to date. A very flexible schedule. However, the business has been slow and I am looking for something to supplement my income. Another IT job would likely be treated as a conflict, and I already do that work anyway. This type of gig seems perfect, flexible schedule and doing something I have always wanted to do. Right now, I have the time. We will discuss shifts; I may be good to help during a variety of times. I love dogs, all animals really. We are very willing to sit for some dogs in our own home or stop in to check on, walk and feed them, etc. I have a neighbor that does the same thing as a “side hustle” (for Rover) and they love it. When I am out walking my dog, I often run into them walking their dog tenants that they are sitting while owners are away. I have lived in the Southbay since 1988 and love it here. We also have one Maine Coon cat (16yr), that generally stays out of site around new dogs. Our one cat has been living with dogs most of his life. We will create separation of animals if it is necessary. If you provide it and it is needed, we will crate your dog, otherwise we are happy to let them always be part of the home while staying with us. The home is safe and secure with plenty of space inside and outside. We are in an enclosed subdivision with safe residential streets for walks. We have dedicated space where our dog and cat eat separately, we can also set up feeding so your pet can eat alone if necessary. We can adjust access to food, so nobody (including our dog) has any issues. Dog walking is done regularly for our GSD and we are happy to take your pet along to explore the neighborhood.

About: I have two dogs of my own that I've been caring for since I was about 5, and I'm also my brother's designated dog babysitter (he has two super cute chihuahuas). What sets me apart is that I truly care about your dogs health and wellbeing, and I'm not scared to handle big dogs. I will 100% always make sure your dog gets water at the end of the walk and make sure that they show happy body language. I'm also extremely flexible and don’t mind doing extra things like helping to train or showing up early and leaving late. I’m probably your safest and cheapest bet because I don’t do dog walking solely for the money, I also genuinely enjoy being around dogs and going on walks. Since my dog is old, I can only really get that experience with other people’s dogs. I am super flexible and can work around your schedule, day or night. About: I have experience giving medications (pills, liquids, ear/eye drops) as well as experience with senior and small dogs especially. Senior care is my strength but I love dogs of all ages. I work from home part time and am home all day Friday-Monday. There are no children or pets in the home so I am able to provide my undivided attention. Your dog will be inside my home most of the day as I do not have a yard. I do however have a large park/lake across the street that I frequent that is great for walks.

About: I’ve had my dog, Milo, since he was a puppy and I basically take him anywhere he is welcomed. As someone who was scared of dogs as a child, I made it a priority to understand my own dog. I learned plenty about dog enrichment and body language, which has helped Milo become a well-adjusted and socialized dog. About: New to Rover, but not new to caring for pets: I am an empty nester who loves dogs and cats. I’m easy-going and have cared for both puppies and older dogs, and I look forward to keeping your pet safe and happy while you’re away. When I pet sit, I’ll send you lots of photos and videos to reassure you that all is well. I won’t list myself as available on weekends when I know I will be in and out too much to give your pet the attention s/he deserves. I have a small fenced/gated area, and the gate is tall. We have a dog door we can utilize or lock depending on your preference. There is a small section of artificial grass outside. Indoors, dogs are allowed on the couch with me unless you prefer I not allow it. I can walk them in the morning early, usually between 7:00-7:30 am. Afternoon walks are typically between 2:30-4:00. I am flexible with when evening walks happen. Dogs don’t ever have to be crated here, but I can do so if you provide the crate. On the weekends, I can certainly let them out more often than the 4-8 hours indicated on the app. Some weekdays, however, fall within that window depending on my work schedule. I require proof or rabies and other vaccines at the meet and greet, please.
